Instead of burning it, get some of the silicone cake bar molds, then rip up all the paper by hand and throw it in a bucket of water. Wait until it's all soggy and press it into the silicone mold, then let it dry and harden. Then when they've done that pop them out of the mold. Then you have yourself some fire starting bricks for campfires etc.
Looks like as the water in the clay froze it expanded and pushed its way out. Nice seeing ice again, (apart from in a glass), hasn´t frozen in the 26 years I have been here in southern Spain.

That on the ground is called needle ice. It's when liquid ground water is frozen by the air that's colder than it is. It freezes up. Pretty cool looking tho. We have freezing rain in some parts of the UK. Pretty cool as it freezes as it hits the ground but not very common here. Anna's boots look nice. These boots were made for walking.... And that's just what they'll do.... Don't stand in the smoke when you are burning plastic like the drink top. It's toxic. Don't want you guys getting ill 😔
That'll be because water has some pretty weird properties compared to other chemicals. Most things contract when they freeze whereas water expands. The moisture in the clay must have frozen and as it expanded it pushed it's way up and out and frozen in place as it did.
