I think this is the superior cover although less brutal, but it gives off a better, more fitting atmosphere.

Wish I was born around 1975 so as a teen I could have took this all in when it first came out and said I was there to hear the evolution of metal.
I did, born in 1967, but if you are doing it now, that's all that matters, then or now, it still sounds the same, so you did not miss out

That depended on if you could find it or not back then! i was born in 1976, a lot of stores wouldn't carry Death Metal cds for the longest time, only a select few that didn't give a fuck, like in a mall, I'm from the San Antonio area, Sam Goodys and Flip Side Record Parlor were the only places early on that had Death/Black Metal, at least that I knew of back then, other places were too scared of complaints due to the covers, but I never saw this one at any point, somebody would probably buy as soon as it was on the shelf! thank good(dark)ness for the internet🤘this is the best time to discover Metal and there's a lot of kickass stuff still coming out today, but this record's held the test of time, still the scariest shit I've ever heard, then and now

@@vopy48 probably not then, but when this record came out, i guess in 1988ish, i was in 5th or 6th grade and knew nothing about Death Metal, didn't know about it until '92, but i couldn't afford cd's or players anyway for a very long time! actually the first Death Metal tape/cd i saw was at a mall , because they had both there was Cannibal Corpse Butchered at Birth, and I hadn't heard of them yet but saw that cover and was "whoa, WTF is this?!" got me very curious but i couldn't buy i would've had to show the people who gave me the money who took me there for my birthday what i bought, don't think that would've gotten over too well, I don't remember if this record was there too, might have been, Sam Goody's had a huge Metal tape/cd stock, more than i saw for a long time in the few times i went there

They did very well in this album. Bass guitarist is strong. Slow riffs then faster and made sure they didn't rip off their audiences with the solos. =D Worth every penny.

One of the few Death Metal bands I really enjoy.....Autopsy, Death & Massacre and it's funny cuz each band had a member who played in Death.....I dunno what it is but the bands of Death Metal I like I REALLY fucking love it but I try so hard to get into more Death Metal bands/albums but most just don't appeal to me like Death does and I quite can't put my finger on what it is that makes Death Soo much more special to me than the other well known Death Metal bands who were around the same time I just feel like noone was or is playing anything even close to what Chuck was coming up with with not only all his guitar riffs and solos but also the lyrics and choruses!!

I'm honestly Soo thankful I just found out about this band & album!!!.....I finally fucking found another Death Metal band/album I can actually get into and can definitely hear the similarities to my favorite Death Metal band "Death" like their earlier stuff, which I'm wayy more a fan of compared to their latter albums which even those were amazing albums just more progressive compared to the more straight ahead brutal shit like Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy probably my all time favorite albums of any death metal and I honestly can't get into the majority of other DM bands mainly because their riffs aren't really all that great like for example everybody lovessss Morbid Angel's early albums which I do think are good but their not that great the riffs aren't that good I.m.o. but this album fucking kicks ass the only other DM album I found I really enjoy is At The Gates Slaughter Of The Souls
