I agree 100% with you Recently I contacted someone to sew some things for a friend of mine in Nigeria, Lagos and they were horrible she lives in Nigeria and has a business called Tamera's Palace I paid her up front for the clothes. She is one of the worst seamstress/tailor I have come in contact with. You should see the clothes they are horrible. I even sent her pictures of what I wanted instead of her being honest and saying she could not make what I wanted. She scammed me. Nothing against Nigeria but why does everyone who purchases a sewing machine think they can sew or calls themselves a tailor. Please everyone listen to Stitchadress people she knows what she is talking about.

I always tell people to leverage on UA-cam knowledge first, some don’t even have equipments yet, and they will be looking for money to go for upgrade, after the upgrade, how will you start your fashion??? Cos after the upgrade you just have to start your own work so as to make a good ROI on the money you spent for your upgrade. God bless you for this.
Nice one I wish I had this kind of advice before now. Few months ago, sometime last year out of desperation I went and paid for a private fashion house to learn corset and bridal as I felt i needed to up my game. But that was my biggest mistake because my time was wasted and the lady wasn't willing to give out her knowledge so she stylishly played around the basics that we already knew. In the end we couldn't even complete it as it was purely time wastage and we left, all 5 of us that time. Since then I told myself that for now I will continue with the ready to wear styles that I have been good at pending when I can give luxury dresses a try.
I hope you did not go to Tamara's Palace to learn to sew she is in Nigeria horrible sewing. I even had her to sew somethings for me and the were awful.
I was scammed too by someone who claimed they were a seamstress /tailor She has some clothes in her shop according to the pictures she had on her website they a few cheap things the better quality things were Ai pictures. I paid for some clothes for a friend of mine they were horrible and she refused to refund the money. She calls her place Tamara's Palace. Clothes were horrible. It is amazing what people will do to get money out of you.
Trust me when I say, most seamstresses out there are stingy with their knowledge, all these small shop owners. If I wasn't determined I would have abandoned the work but I challenged myself by teaching myself from this UA-cam and from youtubers like you. I mow make very beautiful wears for people without issues.
Am inspired ma. They indeed are hoarding knowledge from their students. Imagine pay 150k or 300k and at the end of your duration you can’t even sew some certain things because some tutors decided to be stingy with knowledge
@@anitalawrence122 Just a shame that they see the need to rip people off. They will scam the wrong person one day. I don't mind sharing my knowledge with anyone regarding sewing. I have gotten all kinds of tips from other sewers on UA-cam. People are just greedy just don't go to Tamara's Palace for lessons she is awful made some clothes for a friend of mine I paid her in full they were the most awful horrible clothes. Save your money and keep watching UA-cam.
