Festool's newest additions to their award-winning line of sanders now offer the option of running cordless on 18V batteries or with a corded adapter. This hybrid approach gives you the ultimately flexibility and capability whether you're near an outlet or not. Available in three models, there's a sander to match your needs. The ETSC 125 is a 5" round pad sander, the DTSC 400 is a delta triangular detail sander and the RTSC 400 is a rectangular finish sander.

this video is still relevant today the only difference is Bluetooth batteries now available. but the point I think you were trying to make but couldn't quite get to it was that you buy one complete set and then you buy the basic of any other shape you may need and just share the batteries and power converter as needed. One user can use the batteries then other user can use the plug-in, etc.

does the Festool 202502 18V ERGO AC Power Adapter charge the battery when it plugged in?

No, the battery and A/C adapter plug into the same receptacle on the tool. You can only have one in place at a time. So, you can either run off of the battery or run off of A/C. The battery would need to be charged on the charger.
