What technique do you use? Have you tried it and how have you found it? We experimented and it helped some to a degree and messed one up in particular as it made him go up too much and not get a take-off drive. You can see the young athlete in the latest video (Sam). We are trying to now use a normal arm carry for the hitch. Hope you are well.
@@Johnshepherdtrackcoach I use a hitch-kick take off (by the arm action) and then a hang techinque. I don't know how I found it, my coach never taught me anything about it and I realized about my style by watching your videos. I take off with my right leg and my right arm makes a sprinting action while the left arm goes to the side extended, is that ok?
I wish I had a coach like this during my school days... Although I did a 11 flat 100m when I was 15 , I could never do more than 6.2 in the long jump...
Many thanks, the skill of a long jumper and i guess that of their coach is being able to develop the ability to take off at speed. I'd guess that your take off set up and specific take off strength were not of the same level as your sprint ability. Probably if you had done more specific work on transitioning your sprint speed into specific long jump sprinting, whilst developing take off power I'm sure you would have jumped further.
Sir I AM India your long jump practice super, I love u sir
Is it a pulling motion with the takeoff leg?
Heu coach i have some clips of my long jump meets , can I send them to you and give me tips to help improve coach ?
Is that Dexton crutchfield
Coach would you recommend shrugging my shoulders at the moment of take off?
