[UPDATE] If you are running on newer version of Tizen like 5.5 and if you try to change region using the combination firmware linked in this video it will disable the WiFi of you're watch. Then you'll need a pin connector for flashing software.
Also if you have an LTE model don't change region.

SM-R820 bought from Germany with DBT CSC, had Tizen 5.5.0.2. With your instructions I was able to successfully change CSC to BTU and got Samsung Pay working again.

Hi did you make sure the WiFi was connected after you rebooted the watch and make a note of the correct IP address ? Should be straight forward after you pass this stage.

@@colinhristow I first couldn't connect SDB, but that's because i lazily thought i didn't need to restart the watch since it was already connected to my home wifi. SDB connected sucessfully after restart the watch.
Also, make sure to deactivate windows defender when connecting to SDB

Bought this watch as a gift and since the feature they most wanted to use was the 'Pay' feature I was disappointed that it was unavailable due to a region lock. Hi, I'm encountering a problem at the very start. When I connect to the watch's hotspot with my laptop's built-in wifi card the watch says error, connection timed out (110) no matter how many times I try it. If I try an external USB wifi card, it just says on my laptop that it cannot connect to the network. Any ideas? Edit: I got my error fixed! I found on XDA forums that if you have this same error you have to disable your firewall(both Windows Security and other antiviruses).

Amazing! You just saved me more than 120 EUR. I bought mine from some sketchy website which was significantly cheaper than the other ones here in Sweden. It turned out this was due to the fact that the watch I bought was a Romanian software model. I was going to return it and buy the 120 EUR more expensive Swedish model, but then I found this video. Everything worked perfectly and not only do I now have Samsung pay but even things like Spotify work better now after my region change - huge thanks!

Thanks for your tutorial. I used this to change my regional settings from Germany to UK on a Galaxy Watch 46mm LTE. I had to get the right firmware for the watch, but now I can use my eSim for the first time, (activated 2nd line with service provider), use Samsung pay and many other features that were not available previously!

I think whole iOS does not support Samsung Pay nor Google Pay, I could not see those either. And the watch control app is better and Samsung Store is not at all in the iPhone.

Then my Note 10 plus refused to install the Health Monitor app because 'this is not possible in my country (Belgium)', and there is an error message ... Still, I enjoyed doing all of this! But it downgraded from 5501 to 4006 that's why the ECG & BP installed successfully.
Then the system detected an update (of course) to ver 4008, so I updated it. The ECG & BP still works fine. But then again another update detected to 5501. So now, it's back to 5501 with an ECG on it, but still no BP.
So, if you're planning to do this for ECG & BP, I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU'RE ALREADY 5501, OR EVEN YOU'RE 4006 SINCE IT WILL UPDATE TO ver 5501 with an ECG but still no BP.
This process needs an update that should work with the 5501.

Then let us know if it will retain the BP in your own region with Korean region after updating back to 5501.
Also, tell us if 5501 in Korean version wouldn't be intimidating for us as an english users.

If you are getting error in SDB, that it fails to connect, you have to: Turn off Bluetooth, enable developer mode, enable debbuging and keep wifi at always on. After that just restart watch and it should be working

You are a hero!! I did follow this and worked perfectly. Just 2 notes I had to change the wifi connection to private in order to get NetOding to connect to watch. And after finishing the whole process I had to install 2 o 3 updates until Samsung pay showed up in my watch apps.

@@listen2khan I have followed the steps as explained in the video and have had no problems. In the end you end up with Tizen 4.4 but when you sync with the clock it is already updated to 5.5.0.1. I also tell you that the latest update released by Samsung 5.5.0.2 with ecg and blood pressure does not jump to update it. When from the mobile I tell them to check for updates, they tell me that the clock is already on the last one but it is not true
NOTE: Since I changed the CSC updates have been blocked. I have stayed in 1CTH8 and it does not update to the most recent ones. Does anyone know how to fix it?

This tutorial is awesome ! Thanks for uploading. Just one additional comment - if the Samsung Pay app doesn’t come up on the watch after doing everything here, you’ll need to install the Samsung Pay watch plugin through an apk file. Once that’s done, Samsung Pay will start showing in the watch. The apk won’t work unless you have followed all the steps in the video and changed the region to a country that supports the watch version of Samsung Pay.

Also, I have one question. Spotify is showing up now (before it wasn't, so that's a sign it worked), however Samsung Pay isn't. Do you know what could work? And what's the case with updates? Is it safe to update my watch, if and when Samsung pushes out updates?
Go to Gear / Galaxy Wearable app scroll down to Samsung pay install it and it'll appear on your watch. Yes it's safe to update just update to latest tizen and enjoy. Because with the lastest updates you'll be able to try out that ECG feature as soon as it comes out.

I finally got it to work over 6 hours of trying with a slow PC!!! To then find out that Samsung doesn't support Halifax or monzo which are my two debit cards I use LOL. Hopefully they'll change this. Either way it worked!! Cheers :D

It has a modified apk of the same app, that overrides region lock, so now it's working.
I would suggest to backup everything via wearable app before proceeding

Hello @TechnoProz. Thank you for sharing. I bought a refurbished LTE version which already came as XAR and it has Samsung paid, but it is stuck on 4.0.0.6, is there another way to force it to update? I'm not located in USA and in my country there's not data plan for smartwatches. I've read that having the watch on XAR would trigger the update, but it has not been my case. Is there a workaround?

Recently I bought a Samsung watch sm-r805u from eBay USA as it was described as unlocked. I'm based in Italy and when I received the watch I realised that watch doesn't work over here as the frequencies are tared for the US market...If I was gonna change the region, as you are describing, would I be able to activate a mobile plan with the italian's frequencies? While doing this, I had the 5.5 version INU (INU) firmware, with this process, it was downgraded to 4.0.0.7, and I did not get over the air updates. I fixed this by following the same steps, but with the Combination Firmware for 4.x.x. This did the trick! My region is changed to the US, and my watch is up to date as well! Hope this helps.

Perfect thank you very much- really very much for this video. Instead I give money to you I will give some money to first homless I meet. I made it just waching a video step by step. I made it from Slovenian to UK change and I get SPay on new wear app, but I need to uninstall previous version wear app and ( plug in) on phone and install a new wear app and (plug in) before I connect watch with phone. Because old wear app and (plug in) was compromited with old watch region.

Hi, Yanni.. I have found a site that explains how to do it. If you have tizen version 4.0.0.1 will be much easier but if you are on 4.0.0.7 you need to downgrade to 4.0.0.1 so you can change the CSC. I think i'll give it a try myself but if you already found a solution please share!

The BTG1 firmware, the one that came with Tizen 4.0.0.8, is available for download now as well:

You can follow the tutorial in this video to change the CSC (I chose KOO for Korea), then flash this firmware instead of the stock firmware in the description.
Afterwards the watch can download the update to version CTH8 with Tizen 5.5.0.1 with all new features right away :)

So which FW files would still be needed in addition to this one? I cant manage to pull the files from the XDA link in the video description because connection is timing out. How would I get all the files necessary? I did manage to get the file from your link

I'm in Canada and have a "GWA2 40mm LTE Unlocked, US, R835U, SW: R835USQU1BTJ6. LTE doesn't work, and Samsung pay asks US ZIP Code.
Your CSC change tutorial is for R825F/R835F, not R835U. Do I have to downgrade and install a v4.x R835F (XAC) on my R835U? or It's better to downgrade to v4.xUS (XAR) and then convert it to R835F (XAR, Tizen 4.x)?
