Hey man. I need a new fuel hose that goes from auxillary tank to main tank. It's parts number is 17511-mj8-000. It is a preformed hose with a 90 degree bend. I have a 1984 Magna V30 just like the one in your video of your flip project. I was wondering if you replaced it and if you did, where did you buy it?
You do not have to take the wheel off you can come out and up and over the back wheel take that out and reinstall I just did this 3 days ago do not have to take the wheel off at all it is a tight squeeze but if you for it to do it that way that's totally up to you but I will tell you now it didn't take me know time up and over the wheel as if it was rolling take it in and out just hold it in the right formation there is a flex material where the fuel pump is to be installed and you can pull that up with your fingers and it should go in with no problem again I just did this a couple few days ago and took the carburetors off completely disassembled and I mean completely off the frame off everything and it took me 9 hours to do that tear down and back together mcoles those are carburettors of have to be set exactly the same way they were taken apart Ann they have to go on in a fashion that each one operates the other and it's a headache for sure but good luck with your motorcycle works and be careful out there
Good point Harold! Obviously you have some experience with these bikes. Got any info on removing the ignition switch (I've got one that is froze-up and the forks are locked in position)?
@@johnodell2469 yes under the cluster on the bars take loose the plastic to get to the wire harness there is a lock under there that has a locking shaft that i have had to deal with in the past take the bolts loose i think it was a 12 mm and youlll see the bottom of the ignition switch just watch for harness not to get damaged take the batt loose first.. just to make shure you can do this..
@@haroldwitham2038 Thank you so much for the reply! I THINK I get the gist of what you are saying... Is there a (safe) way that we can exchange contact info, so we can speak more on this?
❤I've got the EXACT same bike. Much less miles. I actually have 2 of them. 🎉
hey that fuel pump you bought off amazon. was it for a v 45 . i read its only suppose to put out 3 psi,
Hahaha, he cuts the old fuel filter out and says, "look at all of the stuff that came out!" "Looks like rust or something. " Well, where do you think all that rust came from? Answer: the main and auxiliary tank. Whoever gets this bike is going to have more problems. The tank will eventually develop a pinhole leak and the carbs will need to be cleaned of all those minute rust particles that will clog the jets.
❤️
Would been helpful to actually see the work done . Not just the after effect.
Hey my dad just bought an 1985 V30 it’s a blast but does it have a reserve or are the two tanks just one big tank?
It just has one tank. The petcock has two different height inputs. When you switch to Reserve you are opening the lower input.
Darum braucht man keine Reservestellung.
Where did you find the fuel pump and filter.
I found the pump and generic filter on Amazon.
8mm fuel pump for honda magna
Dear Sir, i have a MAgna V30,its runs , but only stationary with the choke full on, as soon as you toch the trottle is turns off/dead. Can you help me please, is this also the fuel pomp? Thank you!! Jacques from the Netherlands
Sounds like you are running very lean, meaning not enough fuel is getting through the carbs, could be the pump but it could also be something in your carbs as well.
Is there a reason the pump can’t be bypassed
30,000 miles on a V30 is like 50,000 on a v65 or 40,000 on a V45. I owned all three bikes and the V30's run 4000 RPM's at 45 mph.
fuel cut off relay dude rebuild the clutch.
I bought one in 1985, for $2300. Great machine, ran like hell. 4 carbs, and water cooled. Cost Honda too much to build, so they only built them for 2 years. Wish I kept mine, but got hit by a car riding my Fuji Racing bike, and had to sell. Used a fuel stabilizer over the winter and ran it periodically to keep it running properly. Great for local travel, not the best for long distance.
