Excellent point about being a coach that players want to play for. You can see it at the Crusaders, they all love playing for Razor. Not exactly sure if you can say the same for Foster, although he doesn't seem to be a bad man.
Razor hope you read this in the dunny or something mate, you had the misfortune of sitting next to me and my mate in the lunch hall, Lincoln University, 1998, of course you were the Crusaders star and as a fanboy I could not help but ask you rugby questions, you politely answered them all mate, one being Wayne Smith the best coach ever, you mentioned this in 98, 1/4 of a century later, Smith has won us two world cups and more. Nothing would have made us guess you would coach our beloved Crusaders to countless titles mate, that is simply stunning. Stick with it, the top job is about to find you.

Great chat! Man there is going to be a massive fight on the ABs hands to get him now. Sounds like a race between England and NZ. Post next year, I'm thinking he will take the England gig and then post that will take the ABs (massive assumptions). Listening to him in that chat it sounds like he is heavily interested in the England job as he wants to attempt to win a WC with 2 countries. I think if he goes to England he will learn so much more from the NH teams and then transfer those learnings to the ABs. BUT man I want him as our ABs coach!
Good interview. All blacks need to go forward, and then the backs will weave their magic. Currently players are playing in different positions, and the majority come from a losing culture " Auckland ".
Tonga and Samoa this is your chance. If Scott Robertson wants to be known as the greatest coach of all time, then get one of these guys to the World Cup semi-finals or beyond. Unlike Japan who have achieved this, the money, player availability, facilities, support structures and infrastructure are NEVER going to be there. You'll never have the access you want to your players and will have to fight against the club systems and politics in the North just to cobble a team together. If you can overcome all those challenges and succeed, you will have earned the title of GOAT and be able to break dance your way into any head coaching job in rugby you want.
Well I hope you get the job bro cause Foster ain't it and if leave for another country gud luck 👍 I hope it bites us in the arse I honestly think if you come in now it gives our country hope

Yes but I know without a total shadow of a doubt that he can literally change the whole landscape, mindset, attitude and belief in the All Black camp literally over night. He really has something that other very good coaches don't have. He is a Rugby Genius whom when he becomes the All Blacks coach, it will be as though the All Blacks never went through a dark and terrible slope like they're experiencing now. Yes there are other factors like certain players that definitely have to go like Sam Cane who isn't good enough for Italy. But with the Razor at the helm, all the right players will naturally come together and play together as a team with unquenchable fire. Should he land the Top job and lead the All Blacks, then he would stay at least 2 or 3 cycles despite what he said about coaching England. People need to put into context of NZRU continually snubbing him, that naturally he would look elsewhere if they continue this way. That's why he said what he said about coaching England or another nation for the Worldcup

NZ pack is not as scary as it was 10-20 years ago. Games are won and lost upfront, but NZ always used to defy the odds because of x factor players. But times have changed.
@@nox6885 idc who was in the league and when, to not have a rolling maul try scored against you for 1 season is massive. 5 seasons?? That is insane.

@@billybobperth4368 Meaning New Zealand & Australian teams. The Crusaders are by far the best foward pack in NZ & Australia…..so defending foward shit other kiwi & Australian sides throw at them, is not that big a deal. Defending rolling mauls from scoring tries etc for that long is still a mean feat over that period of time regardless of who you’re playing.

Razor is a no brainer as AB coach , a great guy , rugby insight , respect of the players and them of him , he will turn the fortunes of the AB's around , no doubt .
Agreed, So Why Isn't He the Head Coach ???...
@@eamonnnolan6830 Stupidity, Arrogance or just haven't got the guys to make the call by the NZRU maybe. I don't even know if Razor would want to step in now and take over if the chance was offered, we are only a year out from the WC really. He may want a full Cycle of the WC to get things how he likes.
@@zavirca I don't think he should step in now as coach , but sure he could lift the current AB's game performance enough to give us a chance at the 2023 WRC , might get the nod after the up and coming tour of SA , at least he will know his forward coach !
Love it, One of the big things i took out of this was connect before content. His connect with his squad to see how they are befor going inoto content. Love it
Excellent point about being a coach that players want to play for. You can see it at the Crusaders, they all love playing for Razor. Not exactly sure if you can say the same for Foster, although he doesn't seem to be a bad man.
there's no doubt that they should have chosen him after 2019 world cup
ALL BLACKS OR ENGLAND ????
WE ALL NEED HIM AS COACH OF ALL BLACKS !!!!!! GET RID OF FOSTER
Right up there with all the nice guy's in rugby!
Scott Robertson. How are you coach? Scott please I don't want you to move out from NZ. I want you to coach at the All Blacks before the next World Cup. Love you coach Robertson. All Blacks is number 4 now. And I want you to be there to bring the All Blacks to number 1 in the World.
Despite Jim’s rambling word salad questioning style (love the guy btw), a really great interview!
Would love to see him at Scotland.
Great insight into the mind of Scott Robertson, great content as usual 👍

This guy's a no Brainer to replace the schoolteacher.
As an avid Counties Manukau man in the south of Auckland, Razor has my vote for future ABs coach... Get it done asap
Yikes. We’re going to lose the guy who should be coaching the ABs. Great interview. I wouldn’t call Scott a traitor for leaving us but honestly the NZRU are a bunch of numpties. New subscriber here
Hopefully Springboks pull off a 2-0 over ABs. And will it be enough for RAZOR & RANGI to takes over ABs coaches
What makes you think MacDonald would be part of it ? I seriously doubt there’s any way that’s going to happen. It’s very clear Robertson chooses who he wants to surround himself with.
You sound like you walked the earth for less than 20yrs?
Had your go Fozzie, its Razor's turn !
Mark Robinson please explain.
France and Ireland have their World Class coaching set ups in place. That's it.

Great, Great coach best coach in NZ by far. Pity about the bias circles in NZRU. You should be ABs coach Razor.
I broke my toe when I tried to breakdance like Scott! 😂
I’ll be shattered if he doesn’t get the All Blacks coaching job I’ll never recover will probably go watch chess 😂😂
I hope he sticks it to the NZRU, they don’t deserve him. Would be so exciting if SA join the six nations to boot.
Good interview. All blacks need to go forward, and then the backs will weave their magic. Currently players are playing in different positions, and the majority come from a losing culture " Auckland ".
He’ll be all blacks head coach 2024
You change the whole Coaching Staff, not bits 'n pieces, but best of luck NZ 👍.

Good Lord NZRU, sign this man ASAP or lose the support of the NZ Public.
Question is, will NZRU stop acting like pricks and give Razor the head coach job for the All Blacks.
It is easy to see why he in a winner. People first and the game follows.
Jim love you. But please please please let the guests speak. You often ask a question 4 times - once will suffice. If you look at this podcast you have eaten up about 10 mins of razor time by repeating yourself.......this is all meant constructively. Xxx
We all know what has to happen.
Hopefully it's in three weeks?
Robertson should be the All Black coach. And I'm an Aucklander. The NZRU board and the CEO should resign immediately. A fiasco from start to finish.
Enjoyed the podcast - very interesting individual with great outlook on life - re coaches he talked about respect from players, caring about them, and giving clarity. On Farrell he has the respect of his players, they enjoy playing for him and he says very little- the antithesis of Townsend , but very similar to Cotter who hardly said a word to the media
finally someone admits that the Kiwis miss the Boks. we miss you 2
@@elkiwi69 bro seriously. The most successful team outside the Crusaders is the Bulls. Don't forget that SA teams would have to fly to OZ, back them to NZ. Somebody give this man a job
Don't worry I don't think he's jobless anyway
The pressure of taking over an ABs side, whose players, fans and management have relied on utter success absolutely all of the time is a steep ask. If Scott were to continue losing, even after being given a little leeway, no doubt the fans would still whinge. He would bring a touch of fresh air and a solid rugby perspective, however even his Crusader ABs are playing poorly...
The rest of the rugby world has figured out how to beat them with pressure, something the ABs have very rarely had to deal with. And they simply cannot accept or adapt to being penalised. It's a player issue that needs to change

Can just see the difference in the way Razor expresses himself as to that of Foster in the interviews they've done & its the same the way they coach! But its this "Old boyz club culture" we have in the NZRU that's at fault here cause they still won't admitt they chose the wrong coach & after losing a first ever test to Ireland in NZ then a test match series for the first time the arrogance & ignorance still hasn't changed & this is what's killing our Abs from moving forward & evolving as a team & we saw that during the last couple years Hansen was in charged & its just been a continuity of the same under Foster, you either change with the times "In with the new out with the old or you get left behind & sadly thats exactly what's happening with the Abs right now!
What, are the ABs not allowed to lose at home?
@@elscruffomcscruffy8371 Unless you know the All Blacks legacy & the 100+ years of dominance then you wouldn't understand! The Abs also havnt lost a series at home in NZ for 28 years! They are the most successful International sports team of all time, thats the legacy were talking about here & Foster is tarnishing that legacy if your not a born & bred Kiwi you wouldn't understand!
@@Saiyan4eva it was bound to happen...
@@seanyshepfit Point being is we have better & Foster should have never been appointed head coach! I knew he was the wrong person for the job just like many of us Abs fans & supporters & we wanted change & the Abs needed change why Razor on merit alone should have gotten the job but the "Old boys club" The NZRU were too ignorant to want change & instead appointed the worst possible coach the Abs could have ever have moving forward & now we are seeing exactly why that is! Foster had a poor record as head coach, never won any titles at any level Provincial or at Super rugby & he's just carried that poor form into our national team our beloved All Blacks, & I don't agree with that it was bound to happen, when we all know it could've & should've been very different!
Even if Robertson took over now I seriously doubt there’s enough time to deal with all the current baggage and build a team that could get close to winning the RWC next year. What they should do is contract him now to take over as All Blacks coach immediately after the RWC next year and go from there, that way he and everybody else knows where they are at. In saying that I suspect NZ Rugby know Foster is doomed in SA and by bringing Ryan in now they are setting up already for Robertson to take over as it would be utterly unacceptable for Foster to continue. They will not want to go to the UK later in the year and lose to Wales and England and that is very much on the cards if he stays.
What’s makes you think’s he’ll coach them now? Be stupid to coach this team, and these are not the players he selected or coaching team. Foster contracts ends in ‘23 unless he resigned 🤦♂️
@@MrZionforce After seeing what he's been able to do with the Crusaders, just imagine what a guy like that could do with an entire team full of players that are among the best on the planet.
@@cspace1234nz Yes absolutely
@@MrZionforce ....what scares me about NZ Rugby is that they can be so incompetent that they could so easily blow it completely and lose Robertson if they are not careful. The guy is one of the hottest coaches on the planet right now. Look how easy they lost Rennie, they were embarrassed that they didn't even know he had already signed with the ARU when they asked him to apply. Worse still, and I could even imagine this, is that they make Robertson apply again for the job, even if they sack Foster. That could be enough to see him packing his bags.
If NZRU are a democracy based unit ....put it to the VOTE ,on who should coach the ALLBLACKS ....I reckon the NEW ZEALAND fan base will/would pick the right pair of BALLS to lead the ALLBLACKS towards 2023 WORLD RUGBY CUP ?
The same talks that got Deans out of NZ. Why are all the Cantab coaches so very impatient about opportunities to coach NZ?
Being interviewed by Steve Tew (the man responsible for ruining NZ Provincial Rugby) Foster would have presented well, older, in the system etc. Razor is beautifully simplistic, that wouldn't work with the Old Men.
