On my system, which has been DSP equalized, the 1st pair (black woofers) seems far superior. That said, they are being listened to through a microphone and played back on various speakers/headphones so the preferences you get may not be valid. I hope you get a spinorama test done by Amir/Erin etc. to get better data.
Hello. With the songs used , I prefer the sound of the black set. The bronze sounds a little more metallic. With other styles maybe they have another sound. Best regards
I like the “A” over “B”. I like the esthetic’s of the copper colored speaker! I guess I’m old fashioned, but really like a wood finish in Oak, Walnut or Rosewood veneer’s. Will grills be provided? If you supply grills could they be attached with magnets? Lastly for the US market use “double banana plugs!” I know it’s a legal problem in certain countries, but it isn’t a safety issue in the USA. Double banana plugs are banned in the EU and other countries because the spacing is the same as their electrical outlets! People have plugged the double plugs into the wall socket with disastrous outcome!
A, warmer more enjoyable and forgiving of bad recordings, B is definitely more dynamic but a little more licely and too end a little too sharp for me, but maybe A would be best for music, B could maybe do movies better.
Sorry to disagree with the rest but The COPPER woofer one. However we should have C with most neutral monitors to compare with the actual recording. Listening second time and now I like more the other pair. Both A and B sound distorted. A is somehow flat and narrow and B is somehow harsh with the trumpets.
To me it's kinda hard to tell, it's for one a compressed audio file on UA-cam and 2 its then being played threw my own speakers that have there own sound. I know you can get a bit of an idea what they sound like but this is a test that's better in person lol
Interesting that they changed the woofers, I'd thought they'd redesign the crossover more than anything based on the previous tests (and the somewhat cryptic sound measurements they posted for the SP601 on the Kick Starter page). Given the less than ideal listening conditions (at least on my end) I'd prefer A, when B played it popped, but not in a good way. The copper spun woofer is definitely more visually appealing than the generic black model, but ultimately it's about the sound quality. I agree that it would be great to send a set to Audio Science Review for testing.
Black woofer 👍 (now just make it orange!!😉)

A ... with the black woofer ... definitely better
The gold woofers sound rather nasal to me.

Female jazz singer's voice is attractive with black woofer speaker a lot more than the other.
A , the one with the black woofer. Big difference

a for sure
Sibilant with the bronze/metallic coat, but impressive little monitors!
The one with black woofer is better. It is more natural and high-end sounding.
Ones on the left black woofer sounds more natural.☮️🇦🇺
A. Something sounds off with B.
The black ones for me
The one on left A
Black
A ❤
Vocals black sounds better
What about the price factor?
If price difference is lots then definitely i will go for the cheaper set
Black woofer
I think A are with the Sparkos Op-Amp’s ? For me also A ❤
Both sets are being run from the same amp. Op amps are in the amplifier not the speaker.
A. B is way too agressive up top.
A
A better
