You should have mentioned cowdung in the title. My two cents.. that's a catch sweery.
Borrowed from western culture in Kenya or you mean Western culture -european!? Kindly be clear. You do it in your description.
Let me see what I can do about it.❤❤❤❤
You did very well I rem doing this in my early years in life at school
This is exactly what is done in our Western part of Kenya

Namasthe , Cow dung using for home floor is good system, now a days all are using cement and stone. Olden days 60 years back in India all villagers use dung for beatification of house and floor. Nice cooler paintings. After a long time in your country still you are following traditional system. Nice to see it. Good day all the best.
I m from India and my village also using ash for posts cleaning.
Wow.. In my childhood all had been used cowdunk in the floor.. Nostalgic.. Love from Kerala, India 😍
Thank you❤❤❤
You brought back my childhood memories !! I used to do all the work you did except collecting the firewood. I collected cow dung to plaster the floors and the yard. Used ash to clean the pots and pan, even played the same game!! Love from India.
When I was young, i had used cow dung to keep our cooking fire place good (we call it as Aduppu). Now i am in USA and we have gas stoves!

I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm African American living a very modern American life. To me it's more prone to stress and disconnected from the earth. This way of life seems amazing. I'd love to try it someday and live a more simple life. I might even try your recipes, they look great. Thank you for sharing these videos.
In INDIA...specially in Tamilnadu...people in village still use cowdung to keep their mud house clean....there is no harm in it.

Hi sis I'm from India. I remember my village days in my childhood days. These all work do in our village also.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you❤❤❤
Same like village in India. We also use cowdung for the floor .👍👍
Wow i like it your style of making floor
It was the same practice even in rural India, but it is slowly fading.
Interesting to see you still maintained your tradition of polishing the floor with cow dung . This practice used to be in the olden days in Guyana that the older generations have inherited from their Indian or African ancestors but we used to mix with clay and cow down. The effect was always so neat and we say clean. And the cow down smell died away because our places were opened and the breeze got in to it drying it and makes the looking smooth and polished. . We practiced that only under the houses which were on stilts or concrete posts. The ancient older generations used to do that in their huts or logees. But it is no longer prevalent in the coastal areas in Guyana. The people are more modern and almost all their lands at the bottom opened floors of their houses are concreted or tiled.
We have God we believed in ,our religions are Christians, Hinduism and Islam so we have no place for voodoo . But we do believe in the great healings of herbs which is still practicable .
You are so proud of your livelihood and so humble. We still have those thatched roofs structures but are mainly used in the deeper interiors of our country.
The game is called hop scotch and we used to use rubber slippers to play. We used to washed our dishes like your with steel wool or a special dried grass and soap which is sturdy. Then as we evolved we started to use sponges, brushes, to scrub the dishes .
Hi Dosha, Bangladeshi rural life & African rural life so similar.
Thanks for reminding me The daily routine in the African houses,, washing pots with ash and fetching firewood , personally I did these as young boy
My form india kerala 🌹♥♥👍
I am Indian Karnataka my village also same work super videos all 👍👍
I wish Kenyan villages had "homestays" or eco-tourism where tourists can stay in a village and even help with the daily routine.
Good idea❤❤❤
Good point . Eye opener
@@wkimunya It would be a good way for income generation for rural communities.
Good idea but what about security?
Next time add ash and clay to give the floor a brighter and longlasting colour
Nice post nice village 👍

Hop scotch we call that game in Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️❤️
Reminds good old households
I was playing that game so much as a child. If you stamp on the line you will be out. When you throw the stone to reach another level it must be within the box and if you push the dais or stone beyond one box you must jump over the boxes😂😂😁😁😁
Keep up Dosha. I know you'll make it!!
Thanks❤💖💖
