it's better, I don't know exactly about warner music, but universal for example have the option for artists to buy sync license. Once you buy that license, you can monetize the covers. Also, you might have scene bands like boyce avenue, who are solely known for covers, they have there covers released on spotify, itunes etc which people buy as well, for that also there's another license, that costs a lot more, but still if you want you have an option to do that, haven't seen that in India yet. You can find more info on acquiring sync license on the record labels official website. an example of the process of obtaining a license is here, can't find such page on any Indian record label's website - www.umusicpub.com/us/license-request
