- A look at the basic principles behind the timetable. What is it and how does it work? Why does it look the way it does? How will it be operated either single-handed or when others are available?
such a beautiful layout. the modelling detail put in is exceptional.
Hi Anthony. Thanks for your kind comments
This is fantastic, this kind of informative video keeps me interested in the hobby and helps me understand the history and operation of the railways at a time I never saw, but am so interested in, and am modelling. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great Barry - Thank you, I look forward to the next installment and detailed explanation of the card system.
I like the way you use (playing?) cards to keep a random factor in the system so no two days are the same. I use 2 dice to create a similar random effect. For example 7 or under is no extra trains 8 is summer fruit and perishables extra freight 9 is a market day cattle extra 10 is a holiday excursion (football extra in winter) etc. These train cards are slotted into the sequence at the start of a day and generally involve 2 or 4 trains with empty stock workings.
The BR2 260 really looks the part on the branch freight.
Keep them coming - thanks again
Hi Jonathon. I like the idea of dice and, especially, the football special!!
That sounds like a sensible approach to keep things interesting. Also food for thought for my own layout.
Hi Sorarse. Most good ideas are borrowed. I have gathered loads that appear somewhere around the layout!!
Cool - many similar ideas / approach as my own timetable which I've just developed for my Dawlish in OO railway
Sounds great!
Good video, like😄!
Thank you 👍
its looking good trinitysquare comeing on nicely br stdclass2 looked the part on the local frieght
Thanks William. More progress in lasrt few days at TS ahead of family coming over - always a good excuse!!
Great episode, nice bell, will you be issuing lever clothes ?
Looking forward to more on this subject, very best regards
Hi 1BCamden. Lever cloths!! The operators will be asking for tea breaks and a veg patch next!! Still on the hunt for more (different) bicycle bells though.
and Lemon Cake, 😉
Yes, the bicycle bells, if you drilled holes in the bells would that produce a different (individual) ring ?
