There are areas of downtown that are growing again, but there is a long history of why the city is the way that it is. I highly recommend the Grove, Central West End, Ballpark Village area, Union Station, Tower Grove, etc. Parts of the city are thriving, unfortunately Wash Ave isn't one of them.
I live in Stl and you don't even have to leave downtown, just leave Washington Ave! So many good restaurants just blocks from where you were. And amazing ones all over the place. It was painful watching you guys eat what you ordered. I'm like, where the heck are they....
Eh. We had to go into the city a few weeks ago for our sons dance competition at the America's Center. 10 am. Homeless everywhere. There was a Homeless dude running across in tattered jeans, a pillow coat and an American flag hat with a butcher knife. 10 am Sunday. Lol. I just checked the .38, pulled the magnum pepper spray out and told the wife not to stop for anybody in the road. It's been like this since that D.A. started.
Omg I took Latin in high school, and one of the things I definitely remember is "Semper ubi sub ubi". "Always where under where". Lol yes it's not the same, but it's fun to say.
Gooey Butter Cake is definitely a St Louis specialty. It's better than it looks and sounds. Park Avenue Coffee is owned by my friend Dale. I'm sorry the downtown ones were closed. I always tell people to get out of downtown and go to just a mile south or west to see great neighborhoods and food.
Like I said last year Kevin, get the heck out of downtown and just go to the con when you need to be in that area. Blocks from where you are St. Louis is such a drastically different place with a lot going on that won't end up feeling constantly sketchy and giving you food poisoning.
I grew up in St. Louis, but moved away 25 years ago. I haven't been back for ten years, but it was looking pretty ragged even then. I dearly miss Forest Park, though.
Yeah, dude. We moved 50 miles out of the city. We can still see family when we want, but you're bonkers if you stay in the city Honestly, it's always been rough, but it's gotten so much worse. The police aren't allowed to stop anything, they just take the reports. You're on you own. I don't go into the city naked when we have to go.
Clayton or University City would have more to do and places to eat. We have amazing food in STL. I am sorry you have not experienced the best the city has to offer.
Certainly not going to defend the state of downtown...it's downright appalling in spots but especially around the convention center and dome and points along Washington Ave, it's rough. As some others have said, back towards Busch Stadium and points west towards Union Station and the new soccer stadium are much, much better. Though by the dome you have Sugarfire BBQ, so if you are looking for better food try there...if there is a next time lol🙃
Sad to see all the boarded up buildings downtown. I used to live in STL and still think it’s a great city but a lot of development has moved out to the suburbs.
Never heard of a gooey butter cake now I want one 🤤 what happened to your face? 😱😱 dont eat anymore frog and go see a doctor 😁 crazy man 😂😂 Is someone going to put those creeeeepy bunnies into HHN because that’s where they belong 😬 These videos are too funny can’t wait to see the next one! Hope your back is ok after going down that awful cage slide ouch!!
Poor Bob Cassilly was a great guy. But the drug gangs were after his family and when they couldn't get to a family member they killed him and made it look like an accident. It was a huge loss for St. Louis.
I live in St Louis in my opinion downtown is really not all that the only really good things are The City Museum, Arch, Busch Stadium, The science center the St. Louis Zoo , and Forest Park Downtown in general nothing but crime and boarded up buildings. Love the videos

You won the jackpot for not getting shot especially at night!
Bonus MARKOFF time and Transworld🤩🤩 I’ve been sick and this made my day. Thank you 🖤🖤
More Paul to cheer you up coming soon:)
We have not gone to the City Museum yet and I have to say after you and this video I’ll never go I was claustrophobic just watching it !
That tiny tunnel made me extremely uncomfortable
Ok. Stressing just watching. Not only is it claustrophobic but it’s dirty, too. Way too creepy.
We gotta get you out of Wash Ave - there's so many other great places in the city to visit (that aren't boarded up 🤣)

Thank you Sir.
WOW, sad to see a once beautiful city gone.
St. Louis is looking like an abandoned QZ from The Last of Us
That's how it felt:0

Did we get the finger at 12:40?
6:35 what a dramatic twist!
Those tunnels were terrifying Kev.
love seeing the Markoff crew again :D
How are we all still alive after that
When are you going to show the seedier side to Orlando? I've seen it.
192😮
@@KevinHeimbach I couldn't find any videos about Hwy 192. I used the search engine.

Soulard, Midtown, Central West End, Delmar Loop, Lafayette Square, Benton Park, Cherokee.
I love Markoffs so much, as a fellow marylander, it is a must!! I feel like working for/with them must be the coolest job ever!!
Ahh the yearly Kevin video when he visits St. Louis but only stays on and features the single worst street in the whole city :(

As somebody who grew up in St. Louis it makes me sad to see downtown in that state. I hope things turn around :\

I LOVE THE CITY MUSEUM!! the 10 stories slide is really uneventful so u didn’t miss out on anything

How depressing it is to see a United States City look like that.
Very depressing. Many are looking like that now 🥺
My same thoughts. 😢
St Louis looks more sketchy then Brussels xp at least the part you guys were at :v
I’ve played that organ at the City Museum. So cool!
Wow….glad you survived this trip 🤣

Yeah, for good reason. The county doesn't want to reunify with the city. It's a money pit. We moved a full 50 miles out of the city.
So that whole city become a scare city?
I saw you in one of their Instagram live videos in the background. Love that you are basically part of the Markoff’s Forest crew. ❤
I was gonna say that place doesn't seem safe but now i think St.Louis itself may not be safe XD
It’s sad when you see an amazing city turn into ruins. I was in Portland Oregon for training. I was there for 2 weeks and didn’t see one cop
Super cool I am 2 hours away.
Looks like you meant to go to St Louis, but ended up in Gotham.
Omg that city looks like a Scooby Doo ghost town 😂
Never heard of a gooey butter cake now I want one 🤤 what happened to your face? 😱😱 dont eat anymore frog and go see a doctor 😁 crazy man 😂😂

Actually some parts of NY are starting to look like that. I imagine it's gonna spread
they have made a lot of progress on hhn lol
I can't even watch these tight spaces!

😮 that's depressing. I can't believe this is the USA.
