      Ironically to tell others not to judge is objectively a judgement in itself. 🤔

    I would add one thing base on my life experience so far:
    Stay away from those who keep judging you based on what you drive, wear, have. It doesn't matter if it's your "friend" or even your own relatives. Just don't spend time with them and live your own life the way you want to. You will never impress them no matter what you do.

    I have lived this way for several years now, years ago I noticed that all the rich people on my street where driving average cars and not wasting money. Once I acknowledged that fact I too either became rich or started living that way and my net worth and self worth grew significantly. I consider myself rich.

    I have a coffee maker I bought from Walmart for $10. I've been using it for 6 years. My home is paid off, I have no vehicle loans. We cut up our credit cards 26 years ago. We raised and educated three children. Not a millionaire yet, should be someday. We never went to college.

      You are living the dream. Congratulations!
      My wife and I have been grinding for 15 years. Almost out of debt, that will happen in the next 6 months. Then we are going to cut up our credit cards and lock our credit so we are protected from identity theft.
      Our income went up HUGE this year when I got a promotion and my wife graduated with her advanced nursing degree.
      We both started with nothing.
      Our oldest daughter's first Christmas I overdrew our checking account to buy a small tree in a pot an outfit and a rattle.
      My wife started out cleaning hospital rooms, got into phlebotomy, earned her way into an advanced nursing program, graduated and is continuing for her Nurse Practitioner. I couldn't be more proud of her. Set a great example for our children.
      We have at least another decade of working to get to retirement but we will never have to use credit ever again.
      That is a GREAT feeling!

    Having money makes it easy not to care what other people think. It is much harder not to care when you are poor. When you are rich, the money in the bank gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling instead of a new car or brand names. For a poor person, the nice new car is the cheaper way to get the warm and fuzzy feeling. Also, for those of us, who never cared for a nice car and wanted to save and invest money, there's the obstacle of not knowing how to make the money grow. I had an extra layer of obstacle - I was illegal. Every bank told me to go to hell. BoA even pulled their secured credit card from me.

    • @davidk4860
      @davidk4860 Рік тому +3

      Maybe for you. This something a lived by. If they don't pay for my bills or have any meaningful control of my life. Why do I care what they have to say? Why give them control over my feeling? That's just me though.

    • @UTP504
      @UTP504 Рік тому +2

      You broke down the psychology behind it beautifully, it’s definitely easier when YOU know you have money.

    • @getinthespace7715
      @getinthespace7715 Рік тому +3

      No. I'm not rich yet but am on my way. Started out with nothing. Heck my daughter's first Christmas I overdrew our checking account to buy her an outfit and a rattle.
      I genuinely don't care what other people think. I try to make decisions that get me closer to my end goal.
      I drive a 10 year old car with 200k miles on it, with hail damage (worth 6k). Now I have $250k in my retirement and make 6 figures.
      If you want to get from point A to B you need to plan a direct path.
      All that posturing for clout, or purchasing for self esteem gets you is backtracking on your path.
      Stop giving a crap about keeping up with the jones', learn to be happy with who you are and appreciate what you have and your whole life will change for the better.
      That is where true happiness and confidence comes from.
      Not buying crap you don't need.
      Being illegal is a problem...
      In that case about the only thing you can do is invest in hard assets and try real hard not to get robbed of them.

    I wasted the past 8-9 years of my life, my 20s, giving too much importance to a negative experience that became like ptsd for me. Grew up with my mother who worked 9-5 and rarely had time and energy, I could not ask her for these lessons. Today im 30, and have been thinking of starting over, it might be too late to achieve what i could have if i just stopped caring about what that arrogant professor said one morning to me. I only had to stop caring about it and focus on the 90% positive things that other professors and my mother was saying. I dont know how i messed up this badly. I feel like i chose to do this to myself, i became my worst enemy. Today that professor is a millionaire and has nice jobs, family kids, career. I could not even support my mother financially and now i am 30 years old.
    I wish I found this video few years earlier, even just 2 years ago would have been okay. But This video did not exist 6 months ago from now, so yeah. I dont know what to do now, these ideas / lessons are extremely practical and should be taught to kids in school as well. The world is full of people ready to bring you down. I fell victim to one such incident. How could I have been so blinded that I did not realize these by myself? I think, since I had very low self-esteem and I valued the rash words of a professor more, who is really a nobody in my life but now he has become the villain for me, living in my head rent free for the past 8 years. I can move on, but what pains me is that I did not get Good at what i wanted to do. I dont know if there is anymore time left for me, time flows, it is irreversible.
    Everyone needs to see this video, it is eye-opening and you summarize them nicely. I am glad I found it now, 6 months into you posting it. Only consolation I find is this did not exist before 6 motnhs, hah I have become a failure for real after thinking i was for so long, even though i was not, i was probably one of best in class.

    Being rich is oxymoronic. I refer to both spiritual and financial richness. They don't always go together, but inter-related. The rich people can afford to remove themselves from the worldly care, because they have everything essential. Some rich people are rich because their spirit is generous. They help others in anyway fits.

    • @pistopitpit
      @pistopitpit Рік тому

      To remove yourself from worldly care, you don’t really need to be very rich financially. You just need to have enough money to never work again. It is achievable for many, as long as their needs are at the humble but comfortable level.

    There are many measures of wealth. Health, finance, family and friends -just to name a few? A balance means that you are often out of balance.
    When a rocket is fired, it takes many adjustments to stay on target. Life is like that? Not set it and forget it? If you're off target, you're normal. Just adjust and keep flying.

    I knn no ow a millionaire who once said this. Understandable. Forced caring is the burden most of us have, who are not well off. Perhaps, it’s more about not having to do, however. Because, in reality, most of us don’t care. We see that, in the performance of our jobs. The only reason we sit up straight and look busy at work, is because there’s a dollar value attached to our boss. Other than that, speaking for myself, that company president would be nothing more than a speed bump, as I exit the company parking lot.
    A lot of people would say, “Nah, you’re in the soup. You even care about what your coworkers see you drive. A millionaire drives what he likes, because he likes it.” Took me a long time, to replace my really old car, specifically, because I didn’t care. I’m more concerned with the features and performance, because those things are important to me. Other people can walk.
    My guess is that most really do care, however. As a more internally referenced person, I can see the contrast. I am simply a working person, who’s only care, is that I take care of myself. If my job stops helping me do that, it will be discarded.

    I disagree on judging others. it is good to judge others, it is part of understanding the landscape. and it does not mean you care about what others think of yourself, nor that you are comparing them to you. it is a value judgement. like oh that BMW driver bought it because he is a show off and buy cars without a values based decision like longevity in car engines and most likely a person that leases and does not own. that is a judgement based on logic and understanding psychology. a value to understanding the landscape where you will compete in the jungle. judging is good, not bad.

    So about 1M dollars for 5 dollars every day. Its 200,000 days. Divide that for 365 days will give 548 years. May be 100k for coffee over a life span but surely not a million. And 100k over life for something you enjoy… not that much of a deal. Its basically a price of a nice car. Not super car, not hyper car. Just a solid car.

    We live in a 3500+ square foot home with a large yard and we had it built. However, people don't know I refinanced it at 2.25% and our payment is sub $1700 on a house that's now vskued at $750k-$825k. We paid $390k!

    judging others you indirectly judge yourself. sorry, I reject that reason. it is not necessarily true. you judge others to understand the landscape where you will compete in a better life. it is a necessary observation. for example, I will judge others during traveling to tourist traps, those people that approach you out in the street has a financial motive, and mostly underhanded one, so you will try to avoid them. that is a judgment that is necessary for your safety.

    Great video but Elon didn't single handedly do anything. Really hard pulling himself up with bootstraps from his family's gemstone mines in south Africa

      Guy lived in an office instead of an apartment during college, worked 90+ hours a week and created Zip2 then the technology behind PayPal.
      Arguing he never single handedly did anything himself is disingenuous.
      Based on your logic, I could argue you've never single handedly wiped your own butt. 😂😂

    The bottom line is most American adults go through life like they are engaged in a perpetual junior high school popularity contest, with the attendant 50% plus first marriage divorce rate and everything else that goes along with what they think people outside themselves care about. Quite pathetic to witness on a near daily basis.🙄👎
