I just came back from a break and am exploring the new world bosses, group bosses, sovereign and Kharazad accessories. I had the free BS, and got the second one from the tuvala weapon. So I made both my sovereign weapons. Kharazad is taking longer because I need mats to extract the cups. But I'm enjoying the game, made a deadeye on seasons and then tagged her.
I saw the comment about EvE in the chat at 21:14 and wanted to say , Yeah, EvE online as cut throat as that game can be PvP wise. The community is awesome and you make some life long friends in that game. As someone who also plays EvE. I find it easy to play alongside BDO as well. As they both have easy ways to progress when you are playing the other game. EvE has offline skill training, so I continue to progress when I wanna play BDO and BDO has some afk activities I can do to make some progress when I wanna play EvE. I will say I have always thought EvE had better large scale PvP then BDO and has more content that can pull ppl together but it’s also optional like you don’t have to fleet up and mine , run Abyssal or other PvE , or PvP content you can do it all solo but boy when going with others it’s more rewarding. Plus more fun. If you wanna run solo and multi box a mining fleet of your own or a Suicide Gank squad (call it suicide because gank only happens in high sec , every where else it’s just a kill as low sec , Nulsec , Poch as basically lawless Zones but in High sec when they gank they better make sure it’s worth it and the ships disposal and not costly because Concord police will blow your ship up , no way around it. You can get around triggering concord in high sec by Dueling both parties have to except or if you get a sus tag on them then there are no penalties. Sus tag can happen if someone stealing your rat wrecks , containers stuff like that) etc….you can but that’s allot of accounts 😂. When you can just fleet with others, I only play 2 cause more then that’s just to much and that only for industry.
I was there for Susan's kitchen fights (Sausan's). The ghillie suit was pay to win because it hid your name and if you dyed it a certain color of green it would hide if you were flagged up.
This vid felt like a blast to the past from talking about things like weight and inventory to castle siege. The funniest thing that people don’t remember is back in the day the reason you needed the weight was not to farm but so you COULD CARRY POTS. There was no infinite HP pot And MP pot so if you wanted to have any you had to actually carry them. Also don’t forget at that point in time there was no free campsite so if you wanted to grind anywhere that was not near a city you had to be double prepared. But really these things just go to show how much this game has changed in terms of its new player experience. I get that the vets are mad at stuff but at the end of the day the money talks and if people constantly buy new costumes and weight for the new classes; then pearl abyss is just gonna do what has been making them money.

I traveled to all those islands on a raft before sailboats were introduced into NA console and before it was released i grinded all the material needed to get sail boat day one and have materials to continue being shipwright hreat passive money maker ive made at least 10 frigates and 2 sailboats
as an ancient returning player and a game designer i really dislike the state of bdo disregarding what im used to. To me the most fun i had was the mistery and exploration values of the game, going to the desert pvping struggling to make gear it was really really fun the choke started when i first realised there is a weapon on an npc for 1 silver that gives decent ap which was nothing for high end like us but remembering how much i struggled made me feel like all the work i put was worthless. then there is grana blackstar and everything, i was really disgusted about season, i HATED IT for someone not able to spend enough time on the game season was always chasing the soft cap and every 1 month player was equal to busy experienced players. the lifeskill got nerfed, every item is guarantee, free capotia, free pen, free this free that it DESTROYED the ceiling between a new player and a normal player. CONCLUSION: The core loop of bdo for me was freedom and exploration, i want to gather and when im bored i want to pve when im bored i want to barter when im bored i want to hunt. I want satisfaction when i make money or gear. i dont want to make daily forced content, i want progression like an mmorpg, i dont want to make 99999 diffrent characters for seasons just to force myself not to stay behind. Im sure Pearlabyss game designers already know this is WAY diffrent from what they were aiming from back then and im sure they have data and reasons to do this but MAN i literally get emotional that i cannot play that version of bdo that i LOVED and spent 10k hours.
hi, 10 year old player here, only semi good thing kakao did was attempt and trying to have morals in regards to P2W, didnt last long but it even back then with the central MP changes. it wasnt nearly as bad as it is rn. also steam didnt get BDO for a while, it was on its own launcher for a good amount of time

Selling outfift on marketplace was here before you could melt costume, melting costume is something that come later (and was one of the reason i quit the game at that time)
im sorry but you are just wrong about the old market, if there wasnt any of the item that you were trying to purchase you could not pre order it, that was not a thing. you had to put up a bid when the item was listed. and if you were quick enough and lucky enough you got the item. the bid system only happened when an item was listed if there was no other of that item in stock. pre ordering items came with the central market update.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the p2w riots were before ninja, kuno, and DK. I got a pair of muskan's from a scroll boss on the first day of boss gear release and sold them on the market for 55 mil and thought i was rich af.

Back then no-one knew what the hidden stats were so they wore muskans because it gave more DP but that DP is EVA so it's not as good as the DR from UWUgons like we know now. Same with dp accs back then too lol. Game was so different when it originally launched

I have not done RBF since 2018ish on my ninja and when I started playing again last year any time I log in on the ninja it is rank 1 RBF does not matter the server , its hilarious even the old guard still around that plays and considered "TOP" pvpers on their og classes dont even come close to my rank lmao .
To clarify, the protest was - iirc either for Value Packs being sold on the market for silver, Costumes being sold for silver via market, Crons being attached to costumes, or all of the above. The value pack one was the first thing added though. It also cost like 80-112mil to buy and costumes we're about 120 mil. Later on cron stones and valks' cry we're being added to costumes. I believe the biggest protest was related to the cron addition to the cash shop. Calpheon was actually flooded with people in an attempt to crash the server. I cannot remember if this was pre or post server merge, but for the record: server merge happened very early Jan 2017. Its likely that the value packs we're added in summer of 2016, followed by awakening releases from late August 2016(starting with warrior and sorc) to New Years 2017(ending with wizard and witch) for all classes, followed right after with server merge. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in mid 2016 or early 2017, but that's about the timeframe we got. I believe it was either before we got awakenings, or after every class had got them but not during the 2 week schedule of releasing awakenings. Which was the dumbest shit ever. It was unfair for those that had to wait until the end to get theirs, and it was insane how much stronger players were with them. It was so crazy that some classes got overtuned to compete while waiting for theirs to release. What a time. That was a time that existed in BDO's history.
GW2 is a fun time for a while. Grinding to get the legendary gear feels a lot like BDO (at least back when I played.) Any other games on the horizon, like MH Wilds?

Back then I didn't try very hard because they paywall was so damn big man. I wanted to like it so much, but I'm not dropping hundreds just to roll my damn pets dude. gtfo. I remember I forgot to check mark j's hammer on my pen main hand attempt and rage uninstalled for years. AND THEN they did account wipes so I can't even look at it anymore, which is sad. That being said, the game is FAR MORE approachable and justifiable now. I am returning and having a damn BLAST. I don't mind dropping a hundred on a double acoin day or something as those pearls there can get almost everything. Give or take. It's still a lot, but doable. And they are legit like 2000 times more generous with rewards and what you can earn. PVP is the ONLY reason I don't play this game. I log on , get my 30 days no PvP, have a ton of fun, then log off for a long time so when I come back I can play 30 days no pvp again. I'm also not alone.

Played before Kama came out let me tell you Desert was a fucking war zone. Shit was always going down at Nagas, Fogans and Aakman. Mad GvGs, dueling for spots, assholes K bombing cause they are getting stomped out of their roto. That was when the grind was the best because it broke up the monotony of it. The grind meant something back then, now its just grind for more crons to get next gear up for next grind zone with no conflict
Logged back in, loved the community, loved the game mechanics, loved the map, loved the questing and lore, remembered the cs underwear, the cs weight, the cs based gear system, and the rent dye scheme, and logged out on principle
Blue, you really must play phone game, because they have what really mean pay to win, today BDO is not pay to win, you still can get all without paying and there are not much lock behind paywall. For real, naming continence item P2W is only harming all, because when all is P2W people would ignore it. It BDO was P2W you could only get BS from event, but to get PEN BS you must finish event which is imposible to do without paying, this is how P2W is, not what we get, still you may pay as much you want, and you have as much items are Rapolas or Bairog, and be better in pvp as many guys with worst items, sorry, but BDO is not P2W as it should be, it allow you to progress faster, but you don't get advantage in PVP because you pay, which is real P2W.

In the old market you can't pre order pearl item. You have to bid and when I started playing it was 12m per costume box and it was a karlstein.

I have not done RBF since 2018ish on my ninja and when I started playing again last year any time I log in on the ninja it is rank 1 RBF does not matter the server , its hilarious even the old guard still around that plays and considered "TOP" pvpers on their og classes dont even come close to my rank lmao .
To clarify, the protest was - iirc either for Value Packs being sold on the market for silver, Costumes being sold for silver via market, Crons being attached to costumes, or all of the above. The value pack one was the first thing added though. It also cost like 80-112mil to buy and costumes we're about 120 mil. Later on cron stones and valks' cry we're being added to costumes. I believe the biggest protest was related to the cron addition to the cash shop. Calpheon was actually flooded with people in an attempt to crash the server. I cannot remember if this was pre or post server merge, but for the record: server merge happened very early Jan 2017. Its likely that the value packs we're added in summer of 2016, followed by awakening releases from late August 2016(starting with warrior and sorc) to New Years 2017(ending with wizard and witch) for all classes, followed right after with server merge.
I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in mid 2016 or early 2017, but that's about the timeframe we got. I believe it was either before we got awakenings, or after every class had got them but not during the 2 week schedule of releasing awakenings. Which was the dumbest shit ever. It was unfair for those that had to wait until the end to get theirs, and it was insane how much stronger players were with them. It was so crazy that some classes got overtuned to compete while waiting for theirs to release.

Back then I didn't try very hard because they paywall was so damn big man. I wanted to like it so much, but I'm not dropping hundreds just to roll my damn pets dude. gtfo. I remember I forgot to check mark j's hammer on my pen main hand attempt and rage uninstalled for years. AND THEN they did account wipes so I can't even look at it anymore, which is sad.
That being said, the game is FAR MORE approachable and justifiable now. I am returning and having a damn BLAST. I don't mind dropping a hundred on a double acoin day or something as those pearls there can get almost everything. Give or take. It's still a lot, but doable. And they are legit like 2000 times more generous with rewards and what you can earn.
I feel bad for old heads that stuck it out after the smart people left... riding my peggy and they invested hundreds of hours for that thing... but sucks to suck I guess cause I love that horse lol

PVP is the ONLY reason I don't play this game. I log on , get my 30 days no PvP, have a ton of fun, then log off for a long time so when I come back I can play 30 days no pvp again. I'm also not alone.

I remember those days that dude was cooking with that gear back then, If you had a billion silver you were the richest fucking person on the server. Played before Kama came out let me tell you Desert was a fucking war zone. Shit was always going down at Nagas, Fogans and Aakman. Mad GvGs, dueling for spots, assholes K bombing cause they are getting stomped out of their roto. That was when the grind was the best because it broke up the monotony of it. The grind meant something back then, now its just grind for more crons to get next gear up for next grind zone with no conflict

For real, naming continence item P2W is only harming all, because when all is P2W people would ignore it.
It BDO was P2W you could only get BS from event, but to get PEN BS you must finish event which is imposible to do without paying, this is how P2W is, not what we get, still you may pay as much you want, and you have as much items are Rapolas or Bairog, and be better in pvp as many guys with worst items, sorry, but BDO is not P2W as it should be, it allow you to progress faster, but you don't get advantage in PVP because you pay, which is real P2W.
