Singapore is not an industrial city but a tourist and shipping port. It is not a productive but economic rich. Population control another factor.

Extreme summers also have a substantial negative impact on the behavior and psyche of people.

Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are the coldest countries in the world just after Russian cities of Yakutsk and omyacon but still these countries are third world countries, Europe is way more warmer than Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
This year Astana, Kazakhstan recorded -40°C temperature while london recorded less than -4°C.

Cold and warm hypotheses have been proven wrong for a long time. West Europe was very poor before the 16th century. India was the wealthiest country in the world. West Europe becomes rich by looting and plundering of other countries. North of Pakistan and India is poor than the South. Kashmir and around areas are poor than the rest of India and Pakistan.

Weather is not the deciding factor it is the justice system of those countries which differentiate the development and poverty. All those cold countries have the best judicial system
I live in Norway. Yes our nation is cold. But I've visited Germany, Czechia and Italy. Summers can be really hot there, like 32°C.
