- The war in Gaza has been fueling weeks of protests on US college campuses. There were dramatic scenes at Columbia University in New York, where students occupied and barricaded themselves in Hamilton Hall, demanding the university divest itself from all Israeli businesses. Last week, protests erupted again in Los Angeles at UCLA. Police were called in to restore order. Polls show some public support for the students, but the majority in the US does not approve of what these protests have morphed into.

Isn't it obvious - when you conflate a just war with genocide then it is obviously a weird occurrence that begs an explanation. For example, where were the same protestors when the Ethiopian army was rampaging through Tigray ... silence!

You bring up the Ethiopian example for comparison, that would be what they call a Freudian slip, since that too was a genocide. It wasn't funded by American tax dollars, no American universities were taking money from the perpetrators or assisting in their research. In that example, what reason would there be for students to protest the government or universities? None.
It's not a crime to condemn Israeli war crimes. Condemning Israeli war crimes is not antisemitic.

Israel's policies enhance socioeconomic development of one population at the expense of another.
Palestinians experience racial discrimination in many spheres of life (education, cultural development, housing, legal status etc.).

This coverage is so disappointing. You can just see the news organizations steering directly to whatever is most controversial, and therefore most likely to generate engagement. There are real human lives at stake here, and the media has done all all of them a great disservice

Because in 1947; 15 000 Palestinians were murdered, 500 towns were razed to the ground and 750 000 survivors were dispossessed of their ancestral lands in order to create the state of Israel.
