As a seasoned woodworker i would not pass up on damaged units, especially if the spinning wheel was unusual in some way. I for one would take on a damaged project to restore a particularly unusual wheel to get it functional again. Its easy to replicate pieces that are broken but nearly impossible to replicate a missing piece unless you have a similar unit. As this video is geared towards someone who wants a used functional wheel and doesn't have a shop full of tools to make repairs its good info. Like buying a used car, who wants to pull it in their garage and start rebuilding the engine when you need it to take the kids to school.
