Thanks for sharing and opening up. My son has autism and I'm planning to take him for his first holiday in Ghana. I was born in Ghana but grew up from age 9 in London( now in my 30s). This was very educative to watch. Will visit this school for sure. Thanks again.

I'm a certified school counselor from New York State and I'm transitioning in moving to Ghana. A few friends of mine who are also educators are transitioning as well and have some awesome educational supports coming to Accra! I'll be coming to Ghana on Saturday for a few weeks it would be great to meet up and chat if possible. :) Bless up!
I am a mental health who would like to work with special education needs children. This has solidified my choice in my career move. Both women in the video are amazing! Thank you for the insight 💜
Thanks for sharing, I've worked with a few autism students and I think two of them will probably become a senetor, for one loves dinosaur and can tell you everything you need to know about dinosaurs, and Terex . He loves to read,so monitor your son and observe what he likes and try to get him to read books. The kid that admired dinosaur also has a good vocabulary, he can spell just about anything.🙏.
Thank you for sharing this video, I always thought my skills working with children and adults on the spectrum wouldn’t be needed anywhere in Africa let alone Ghana thus causing me to think I could never have employment there or be of any use to the community I’d like to live in.
Hi you guys. Yes I am African American here in Georgia USA. I can especially relate to this video because my grand-nephew has autism spectrum. He is now almost 17 years old and have outgrown everyone in his house. I visited with him once and spent a few months. Not trained or knowledgeable at the time, I found that he was quite willing to allow me into his world. We got along well. He has been in school since diagnosis that was able to give enrichment activities. Horseback riding, swimming, art, music, modified signing, cooking among his academics. He is use to a very structured environment. Seeing Yashua here in this video really touched me. I wish I was a woman of means and could donate all the improvements this school need and it's expansion because it is so worth it. Keep shining and moving forward. Things will begin to open up for you and for all the awareness you bring to the table, so to speak. To see Yashua's expression is priceless.
My name was Velda D. Louder at the time but I worked two years as a teacher therapist at the Eden Institute on route 1 in Princeton NJ . Eden pioneered many things for children with autism. It was a great experience
Native Borne, I have a very good friend who has a child with autism. He's non-verbal and is in his 20's. I research things for my own health and whenever I see someone mention that the product benefitted someone with autism I always mention it to her. Products she's incorporated: Diatomaceous earth, chia seeds, moringa and MSM. I've recently discovered that just like vitamins, there's regular MSM and organic sulphur crystals. The crystal form is supposed to be better. I can't say for sure (just bought the crystals and will start taking it) but there are many videos talking about the benefits. There are reviews/videos saying organic sulphur crystals has helped children with autism. I think it's worth looking into. My friends son has seen improvement when she gave him less meat. His digestion has improved greatly since incorporating the diatomaceous earth and chia seeds into his diet as they both help to keep him very regular.
John, May god bless you and your family bruh. You are a true inspiration to me and I will be eternally grateful for your wisdom as a young positive brother. I've told all my friends and family to watch your family videos and to support you in any way possible if they can. May God bless you and your family as well. Peace and Blessings to you
I am crying....I really am, I work with special Ed, kids who have autism....I love those kids n they love me...You are a true human being, you need to be honored brother..I just saw this..Gosh I just wanna hug ur whole family, like I hug me spec needs kids....awww.
special ed. for years in the states. yup we did pecs and keeping them on a schedule with pictures. mmmm that's 👍. I taught High school level and job training program and college preparation as well assisting with small business which the student graduated and some went on to open small coffee shop. Yes! with prayer and faith and determination those children can grow up and fulfill their God given purpose. Be encouraged!
Watching this video has blessed my heart. I have twin sons, age 14, who are on the autism spectrum on two different ends of the spectrum. I am so happy your family found the perfect school for your son. There really need to be a study why there are more boys than girls on the autism spectrum. I know of so many families with sons with autism. Keep up the great work as parents. It isn't easy, but with God all things are possible.
I am glad you and your wife was able to find a good school for your son in Ghana. I wish I could go to Africa to live but I am in my fifties and I am too old now I am glad that you and your family are happy there.
Speechless!!! I mean that is awesome that your family was able to find resources in Ghana for your son!!!! The courage you have!!! My son is 19 and autistic and I love when I see young families prosper with special needs children!!!! Can you please connect with the lavigne life they are in AZ and have a 5year old on the spectrum I know they would be equally as encouraged by your story!!!
I am from Ghana and this is great . This school is probably the only of its kind in Ghana.Such schools should also be in the villages not just in the city. Special needs schools or resources is difficult to get in Ghana it's nonexistent. Truthfully, having such children is a big taboo..... I won't go into details I like native born but I wish u could go deeper into Ghana to show the poverty and hardship. Bring awareness to non Ghanaians that support ur channel so they see all aspects of Ghana. Do a tour of the prison system and the injustice. It's great to walk around and show how u live but please show everything if speaking twi is a problem u will definitely find someone that will translate. Ghana has lots of growing to do when it comes the special needs population.
alona love there are a lot of special schools in Ghana Accra has more of them whiles other regions may have like one or two. I know this because I volunteer with the Autism Ambassadors of Ghana and I have organized a project with the Epicentre Special School before. There’s Hope Setters in Tema. There’s one at Dzowulu, all in Ghana.
@@myraclera great for u and I stand by what I wrote there is not many schools and most of my people cannot.afford.to take their children to such schoolsl
Show injustice and prison systems, that's the job of the Western media, we need Native Borne to show us what he’s been sharing with us. We need positive videos, not negative stuff because Africa has suffered too much under the negative press. I’m starting to wonder if you are a troll. Ghana is a tiny nation in Africa and we are doing our best even though the West keeps interfering and controlling our greedy leaders but trust me if they back off, we will certainly develop better and faster. This is Afrika, not America. We are sixty-two years young and still reeling from colonization. My late Papah served this nation under Nkrumah and I can tell you that no other leaders have developed this nation better than all who came after them, what you see in Ghana today are all Nkrumah’s legacy. Ghana is stuck because of US and British interference that has been allowed by the unpatriotic sons and daughters of Ghana in leadership.
@@soul4u2nv ur lost and can't comprehend so what is negative if one is showing the injustice of the prison system in Ghana such as a person that stole bread because of hunger getting sentenced to many years and a wealthy person that murdered someone but is out I CAN'T STAND SMALL MINDED PPL AS YOURSELF.....
I commend you for courageously accepting your son's learning disability. It is a difficult situation for most Americans when they see an ordinary person with a disability especially our love-ones. The trouble with over 90% of Black Americans, is that they aren't emotionally prepared to deal with a family member having something physically or mentally different about them. I'm blind myself, and I have traveled alone to many places in the United States and Abroad. I don't let my disability hender me from participating in life treasures that God has given humans to enjoy. One thing I have also learned, ask your son about things he enjoys instead of making some choices for him so he feels he is being included. Keep up the good work. There's nothing like feeling inadequate when society promotes exclusion. By the way, In India, they believe it is their appointed duty from Brahmah to help those who are physically and mentally impaired. If you go there will see how they Revere all people with some form of a disability. I have been around Indians and they are very nice and helpful and always encouraging; never making me feel as if I'm a burdon. With all love I wish you and your lovely family the best in Ghana! I will be Home Soon to start my new journey.
I will visit this school when I come to Ghana next time. I love this!! I have two sons who need a school like this. They have not been diagnosed as of yet.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful son and the services available for children with special needs. This video is encouraging to me as an health educator, of the plethora of opportunities of service that awaits. I am looking to move to the continent will be looking closely at need areas.
I have over 30 years in the field of education starting with Early Childhood education BA, and an MS in Community Psychology, and Ph.D. in behavior studies background. I would love to work with teaching families and teachers in dealing with children with Learning Disorders. I would like to work with her in training of her staff to grow her business. I would love to be a part of this growth. I too have an LD, but I did not let this get in the way of obtaining knowledge and becoming erudite. She said it right, the parent is the first and best teacher the child will ever have. In the Head Start program from which I evolved from during the 1970's, our mission statement was " If a meaningful change is to take place in the life of a child, the parent, the teacher, and community must be involved" end of quote. I grew up not being noticed in the school system, but inside of myself, I knew I was a special individual. Just like your son is, and he too has something he is excited about that makes him turn on. Find out what it is, music, art, science, reading, writing etc... My suggestion is to give him a blank piece of paper and crayons to draw, and begin writing is ABC 's out of order. Your little girl and your girls come to be teachers in this process as well. Children learn best through play.
Hey Bernice, I might need to connect with you in a few years. It is my dream to retire somewhere in Africa, not sure where yet, and take my knowledge, skills and education along with my love of working with children birth to 3 with special needs and their families in the field of Early Intervention with me. I’ve been in the field for over 20 years and I have my own Early Intervention company in San Francisco, CA. My desire is to give all I have to my people on the continent somewhere. I have the desire and plans, just need to raise the funds. 🧐
I wonder why there are higher incidences of Autism in the black community. At 56 yrs old, I only started seeing Autistic children in the children of my 2nd cousins. Which is the 4th generation of my Grandmother. Never heard nor seen the behaviors of Autism in all my life. Not in classmates, families of friends...ANYWHERE!
I’m so happy you’ve found a good school for your son! I was worried this would cause you to need to return to the US. This actually looks like a school that would be difficult to find, even in America! 👍🏾
Nubianette that's not true America has schools and resources available for such children and if u put up a good fight using lawyers the board of education will pay for ur child to go to a private school that caters to special needs. They are laws etc that protect them .Ghana does not have that I can go on and on. GOD forbid if that school loses funding and closes it will b difficult to find another school.Such children are regarded as a taboo so much isn't invested.Mubusem is a Ghanaian actor that has a show and gives food and needed equipment to physical disable as well as developmentally disable he is trying to change the perception .
alona love, I know people who have artistic kids. They have to fight for every little thing that their child has the rights for. School districts don’t want to pay the money because their budgets have been cut. One of my friend’s son had a great teacher. He deviated from the curriculum for his son. At this point he became more verbal. The teacher was fired. His son became quiet again. Then, every few months, a different teacher. Wouldn’t it be great if parents were instantly supported. There are other privately funded programs as well that have great services.
@@Nubianette very true but the kids with special.needs prevail eventually in usa not Ghana there is a low rate of down syndrome children ,developmentally delayed children, and other special needs in Ghana if u give birth to such a child and it's a taboo they are killed.
I See You Putting In That Work And At The Same Time Promoting Ghana And The Continent In a Positive Way 💯 Keep It Up Your It'll Pay Off. Believe Ghanaian society, Especially The Government, President And Ministers Are Watching👀👀✊
I'm also a Special Education teacher and worked with PECS and Behavioral Modification Techniques or Applied Behavioral Analysis(ABA). Excellent that that is available in Ghana!!
Omg!!! I thank you so much for this..I'm in Austin Texas I work at Texas school for the Blind and Vision Impaired for 5years...I work with kids from 5years into adulthood with physical disabilities, birth disorders, even injuries that they have to live with for the rest of their life. They live on campus 5days and go home on weekends, because we are not only teaching them academic but life skills from hygiene to how to safely go on an outing or how to bank and live on their own one day...I'm a mother of 4 I'm from the states but my boyfriend is from Haiti and thinking about moving to Ghana. I'm getting ready to start my own business next year but my first love will always be loving children, teaching and guiding them...This video just gave me clarity and some direction to where to visit and who to help build...I know how to do so much but as a you black woman without degrees here in the states what you family taught you and what your hands can do doesnt matter...
🤗🤗💕💕AS USUAL.. JOB WELL DONE.. Another AMAZING & POWERFUL VIDEO !!!💯👍🏽.. Ironically I’m looking into learning ASL based on a video I watched on UA-cam where a deaf gentleman I believe in Uganda has started going to villages and teaching the deaf children, adults, and family members how to communicate using sign language. So this video definitely resonates with me. 💕💕❤️❤️You NB FAMILY👍🏽👑👑🦋
Loved. Loved. Loved this! By the second half of the video it felt like I was watching a documentary. You guys are naturals at this. Very informative. Showing a different side to Ghana and the positive words sprinkled throughout the school, warmed my heart. I really got from this video that when we take the best of Western education or techniques and apply them to a developing country's unique blueprint then so many good things can come from it. And also when what you're passionate or knowledgeable about helps those in need, then magic happens. Fabulous. Documentaries? Feeling it Native Borne? :-)
I enjoy watching your videos, they are truly informative. Please continue the good work. You couldn't have placed your son in a better environment. I too have contemplated moving back home to Sierra Leone, alas it is not as developed as Ghana. I often ask myself why the Sierra Leonean government doesn't reach out to other developing African countries for advice.
Your family is such a beautiful thing to watch over the internet and I admire what you are doing for self and family in Ghana... I am a Ghanaian living here in the US who is returning home after living in California for 32 yrs.. I will contact you when i am re-established..I will love to host you and your family to dinner. And support your efforts as well..

I am going to share your video to my social media account so that my friends are aware of The Paddock School and open their hearts...and wallets...to help meet the needs of these BEAUTIFUL children.

Beautiful & Amazing story. Thank you so much !
* mental health nurse
You are wonderful parents.
*BEAUTIFUL! 😊 Thanks for sharing! I hope funding increases soon👍🏾!*
Thank you for sharing this video, I always thought my skills working with children and adults on the spectrum wouldn’t be needed anywhere in Africa let alone Ghana thus causing me to think I could never have employment there or be of any use to the community I’d like to live in.
I also have 12 year old daughter on the spectrum.
This is beautiful
I work with children with autism in the US. I’m so thankful for this channel 🙏🏾
My son has Autism. Your doing a great job! Wow!💙 now I know where I would want to send my donation.
Immunization has been linked to autism. Diet and a lot of love and training can be very beneficial. Much love
Thank you so much Katyie Loyo for sharing.
Thank you for this video and helping to bring more awareness about Autism.
My name was Velda D. Louder at the time but I worked two years as a teacher therapist at the Eden Institute on route 1 in Princeton NJ . Eden pioneered many things for children with autism. It was a great experience
Thank you for sharing your journey with Yahshua! I have no doubt that the love and support given him will only enrich and make him blossom!
Your son is a blessing thank you for sharing ,Love y'all...
Thank you Dayleeyah! We will check this out for sure. 🙏🏾
This Is AWESOME!!! So excited for Yahshua! Thank you for sharing with us. :D
Such a great and wonderful video. Your
son is so blessed to have loving and supportive parents.
Peace & Love to you both!

John, May god bless you and your family bruh. You are a true inspiration to me and I will be eternally grateful for your wisdom as a young positive brother. special ed. for years in the states. yup we did pecs and keeping them on a schedule with pictures. mmmm that's 👍.
I have a daughter on the spectrum this was great goddess thank u both
Amazing....I also have a son with autism....he is now 19 and in school for graphic design
another great video native borne, keep up the good work brother
I am glad you and your wife was able to find a good school for your son in Ghana. I wish I could go to Africa to live but I am in my fifties and I am too old now I am glad that you and your family are happy there.
Look at him smiling!!! Im so happy for the little Prince! As always I love you all.
@@soul4u2nv I pray the same for u as well as understanding before u write ur comments
You guys are amazing parents and with all the unconditional love and support your son will soar to great heights for sure...peace and blessings!!
Awesome awesome! This was very informative! Great job.
Thank you for sharing....Thank you extending this service to children and their families in Ghana
I will visit this school when I come to Ghana next time. I love this!! I have two sons who need a school like this. They have not been diagnosed as of yet.
You guys are bringing good content keep on doing the good job
Hey Bernice,
I might need to connect with you in a few years. 🧐
Don't wait, the time is now when like minds make dreams come true. Email me at berniceparrish@Yahoo.com Lets talk Sister
This is a very good video. Very positive minded couple. Keep it up family!
Great job
I See You Putting In That Work And At The Same Time Promoting Ghana And The Continent In a Positive Way 💯 Keep It Up Your It'll Pay Off. Believe Ghanaian society, Especially The Government, President And Ministers Are Watching👀👀✊
I'm also a Special Education teacher and worked with PECS and Behavioral Modification Techniques or Applied Behavioral Analysis(ABA). Excellent that that is available in Ghana!!
This is great.
I cant stress it enough- your channel is great. Very helpful- i will recommend this to someone I know
This intro ALWAYS makes me smile 🖤
The post-secondary transition piece is so hard...I struggle with implementing that with my Seniors.
Take everything step by step ♥💯♥
Loved. Loved.
Im in tears. I love seeing our little ppl learning. This was a really great video! Thank you all for sharing!
Love your video keep out the good work..
I love this!!! Great video!
Awesome.
