"loving ranger's apprentice is basically a personality trait at this point" is the biggest mood, I've been obsessed with this series for like a decade now
Ranger's Apprentice was my absolute favourite series during high school. I finished the main series and was overjoyed when the red fox clan and the early years came out. I had been waiting for years for the planned movie/TV series to come out but they never did:(, I never read the brotherband books and I eventually lost interest in the book series as a whole. I had no idea there are so many books added to the series now - this has seriously rekindled my joy for Ranger's Apprentice! I'm so keen that there will be plenty of books to keep me busy for quite some time. Thanks so much for your video!
I'm so glad I was able to rekindle your love for RA! I def recommend picking up Brotherband this go around! It seriously has the funniest writing and is so good! ❤️
@@cassandralynnreads will definitely check it out! I love how John Flanagan can write such good comedy into RA. My absolute favourite moment is when Gilan is teaching Will and Horace the double knife parry technique and gives up when they keep coming up with alternative scenarios! 😂

So I’m dutch and i loveee the Rangers Apprentice so much. So when i saw this video I obviously clicked on it Now i was a little bit confused cause in the Royal Ranger series we have a Novella called “The hunt for the shadow animal” but it didn’t appear in this video. After a quick google I found out Flanagan wrote that novella specifically for the Dutch audience! Kind of a shame for the English readers because it’s a fun little story But I guess you learn something new everyday haha
Yeah! So what happened is that there is only a physical copy of the novella in Dutch, but then in America (and most other places I think) Flanagan put the short story in the back of a Brotherband book for other audiences could enjoy it.
I love these books so much, but personally I read them in a weird order. For example I read book 5 and 6 before 7 and that worked to. And on Swedish the royal ranger is not it’s on series. So I read all of them before brotherband and the first year. But I think if you are starting now you should read them in chronological order.

Good video, I love the whole series too. I think your reading list is decent but if you have book 11 already when you start you can read the stories individually between certain other books. Inkwell and the dagger for example goes between books 3 and 4. Though I feel the need to point out that "corps" is pronounced like "core" instead of "corpse". Oh and your pronunciation of Araluen hurt me a bit but that is fairly common among American readers. Still a good video though!
I’m sorry it’s pronounced CORE!!! This is blowing my mind omg. But that honestly makes so much more sense. And honestly I’d Americans suck ass at proper pronunciation of names 😭😭
At this point, Royal Ranger isnt a series it's just an excuse for a sequel. The reason i say this is because in Dutch book 13 is just De grijze jager: De Clan van de Rode Vos AKA Ranger's Apprentice: The Clan of the Red Fox
I agree that the series should've ended with book 10. Book 12 definitely didn't feel like a good ending, but I also love RA, so regardless of the continuation-I'll still read all the new books!
