Been playing ojamas since I saw some gimmick potential w the spammy summons and huge hand sizes w slifer, then saw a few cool variations of the deck, including a potentially infinite negate board w apex avian and thunder bird equipped by union carrier, which allows for a decent go first experience. I still have some consistency issues but it's a blast lol. Cool piece of advice for anyone thinking about ojamas, ojama blue cannot be negated by ash! I think it's something to do w damage step shenanigans, so what the best thing to do w an ojama blue is to get two ojamatch, so when you play the first one and get negated by the ash they couldn't use on blue, you chain the next ojamatch ditching the negated ojamatch to continue the plays, albeit one ojamatch shorter. If you want to see more specifics on different routes you can take w the deck on how to deal w all the meta stuff, check out The Final Anomaly! He's pretty dedicated to perfecting that deck haha

A little late to the party, and I'm sure its been said a hundred times by now, but wow this was such good editing. Very entertaining, engaging, and fun.
In the TCG, the effect of "Fusion Tag" can only be applied when used as a Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon. In the OCG, it can be applied for any Summon that uses it as Fusion Material, including Contact Fusion. In Master Duel, we just fucking mix it all together, so it's TCG rules.
That's actually not the issue. The issue is that what he was trying to summon specified that the materials had to have those *original names*. Since Fusion Tag treats a monster as the specified monster but doesn't actually change its original name, the target for Fusion Tag is still not a valid material.
I really love the metrics at the end of the video. This is super helpful to know what I'm getting into when I play this game and I wouldn't doubt you help others too. Plus I just love some good stats.
I know this is the real OjaMADNESS when I see you uploud new 2-hour video at 11.30 PM (my time). . Luckily, on the last day of the last season I could reach Plat1 with my Phantasm Spiral. Plat 2 and 3 are hell, especially when you are not using the META decks.
Thanks! I come up with a new Ladder Climb every month, so there will be more eventually! In the meantime check out the Chaos Draft, my weekly Yugioh show. It's pretty fun too.
I just wanna say I loved how you started utilizing the "monster" spam of the deck. Like hmmm I have all these monsters might as well do something with them, adding Number 80 was good, adding dowward and zeus was good, adding DPE, had you went with the end version all the way through you would of hit diamond with version 3.5.
the video is already kinda old, and i don't know if anyone's already told you, but i've found that playing a tri-brigade engine in ojamas helps out a lot. even the bare minimum of 2-3 of Revolt can help disrupt opponent's plays on their turn with Shuraig, whom also searches an ojama when sent to grave. Foolish burial of goods can also be good just to get duo into grave, too. some funnier techs i've found have been instant fusion to get out ojama knight to use as link material, which can be revived with ojama emperor (though that's 2 extra deck slots you have to forfeit for that)
Yeah, about the legacy packs: I feel like Konami has been stealthy inserting some actually useful cards into the legacy pack sets. Like I was pretty sure Cyberstine was not in the Legacy packs at the start. But I could be wrong. That said, there are *some* useful cards in the legacy packs... Still doesn't make up for our inability to dust any of the cards from them. I'll even take just *ONE* SR/UR point per legacy pack card at this point. Or even just the ability to get rid of them for no profit as they're clogging up my inventory.
I'd just like them to let us decraft them to make only legacy pack cards. There's so much janky shit for shit ass decks you can only get from them, I'd be happy with that kind of arrangement. Also to clean up space from garbage
@@KuroeNezumi I have 3 Pendulum Areas and no clue what kind of deck to use them in. They're essentially Fossil Dyna for Pend decks in normal trap form. It destroys scales to prevent all special summons except of Pendulum monsters. Which I think is pretty much game over for 90% of decks out there. Too bad I don't play pendulum anything.
I'm new to modern YGO, played way back in the day and then for a little bit when XYZ was the newest hottest thing, so I don't know if they're jank enough but I'd love to see a Karakuri run. That's bias though, they're just one of my two favorite archetypes (the other being Ghostricks)
I think both those options would make for a fantastic climb! They are janky/unique enough, whilst also being, maybe, juuuust good enough to push... Definitely stronger than Ojamas anyway haha!
I played Karakuri on What a Deck (the predecessor to Ladder Climb) about a year ago. They are pretty good, but I probably won't play them again anytime soon, unless they get some more support.
To bring up the issues with Fusion Tag, you can use it with contact fusion, however you need to have the original monster on the field to use whatever you declared as a substitute. It doesn’t let you cheat out the bigger Machine fusion monsters but it is definitely funny using Ojama Red to substitute ABC Dragon buster for A-Z and keep ABC on your field.
It wouldn't work in this case anyway because A to Z specifies "Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing cards you control with the above original names, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways". Fusion Tag doesn't affect the ORIGINAL name.
You can't use fusion tag for contact fusions in the TCG either because it specifies "fusion summon" and contact fusions aren't fusion summons. The OCG text just says "fusion material" and contact fusions are considered to use "fusion materials" even though they aren't "fusion summons". (TCG and OCG keep fucking up when it comes to putting "fusion material" or "fusion summon" on their cards so you have a few functional differences regarding these which is hilarious). Master duel is a OCG simulator so you can use fusion tag for contact fusions (but yeah the original name is the issue)
Assuming the rarity ratios are the same for the Legacy Packs as they are for the Normal and Secret packs, each card should have a 2.5% chance to be UR and 7.5% chance to be SR. You opened 977 Legacy packs for 1954 cards, so you should have gotten about 49 URs and 147 SRs. There are 76 URs and 400 SRs in the Legacy packs. So you should have had about a 48% chance to get at least one Ojamatch (34% you get one, 11% you get two, 3% you get three or more) and about a 31% chance to get at least one Ojama Pajama (26% you get one, 5% you get two,
Another reason why fusion tag may not have worked is because it is sometimes ruled that fusion tag only affects fusion material, so it sometimes doesnt work with contact fusion. i think TCG has that, and OCG doesnt, but dont quote me on that.
Whoever tried to make all this incomprehensible madness from the anime into an archetype of sorts is probably the only person or people more insane than the people who try to make workable decks out of this mishmash.
Also pulling legacy packs is true suffering. Sometimes something interesting like a barrier statue or the 3rd Blue Eyes(you start with 2 from the starter deck thankfully) comes up, but it's incomprehensible flavor text and powercrept effects most of the time. Card Destruction is actually kinda insane in a format with Maxx "C", especially if you can hit someone with a Droll immediately before using it.
Konami should have these legacy packs be 10 cards each pack with a guaranteed SR/UR there is no reason for them to be as bad as they are, and even THAT wouldn't be great. It isn't like the legacy pack pulls can be dismantled. Like, if they were able to be dismantled, I could understand why they are so trash, but they can't be dismantled, and they're still trash, and you get 2 cards per pack...
1:01:38 Clearly, the 3rd best way to search Ojama blue after Ojamatch and rescue cat is Summoner monk summoning the rescue cat. 1:04:43 It takes a calm and brave spirit to admit that the 3 SR one just crafted were useless. I do hope you find a use for SM in another deck. -Why doesnt Summoner Monk work with spirit sculptor, we were at the brink of greatness! Look at those stats, those are Cyberdark Claw's-
Finally, some representation for Ojama-ABC. Literally my favorite deck. For this, you get my sub! I will say 1 thing, however take my thing with a side of salt, there's actually a far more consistent controlly way of playing Ojamas with the same payoffs. This would be adding Paleozoics and Ojama Duo. In my build of the deck, it's more impressive if you can't find a way to put Ojama Duo in the grave. And this way you're able to both control the opponent's board and gain card advantage, a LOT of card advantage.
My favorite archetype, which is, sadly, absolutely awful. Haven't finished the video yet, but i'm really glad to see the madness. I love this series, and hope you had at least a bit of fun making OJAMAS of all things
I feel like the legendary fisherman and water monsters in general are very underrepresented in mainstream Yu-Gi-Oh. But between the sharks, toads, even tornado wall against a deck that doesn't have proper back row removal and some other neat tricks I still don't understand why mono water decks don't see more play. I feel they could at least be tier two if played optimally
Graydles are also super fun, especially against decks that pull out one boss monster. There's always at least one meta deck like that. Get some, eldlich!
@@HardlegGaming The swordsoul xenolocks are: Ashuna: Wyrms only for the rest of the turn, Auroradon: No more links this turn. Token: Only synchros while it's on field(Intended so that you can't use it for any sort of link play like a swordsoul making a halq), and shaman: If it revives a card, you can't activate ED monster effects for the rest of the turn, except tenyi. So no baxia, no more chixiao negation, turns off your baronne, turns of chengying(Unless chixiao/chengying/baxia were summoned from GY, because then they're considered monsters summoned from grave).
As you've discovered, never activate A during this combo or else you can't summon ABC. Also, if you're planning on making A To Z, you shouldn't link off X, Y, and Z since XYZ needs its pieces to be on field. You could have made XYZ with the material on field, used its effect to discard B to pop their monster, then summoned ABC, then made A To Z (though I suppose you're going for the Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon version)
Maybe if Ojamas had a quick-play spell that summoned an Ojama token with 100 ATK (or 1000 ATK; maybe we'll get Ojama Lime but as a token and he's an outcast, a renegade, who has flipped stats as a sign of his opposition to the Ojamas)? It could be like Interrupted Kaiju-Slumber: your opponent gets that token and you get an Ojama from the deck.
Ya know, rewatching this episode and seeing you go "If chat forces me to paly Blue Eyes at some point", all I can think of is one of your ladder climb videos, but you use the Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey archetypes of Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, and Red Eyes togetherish to try and climb. And by togetherish I mean pull for one and if the rarities match up, dismantle those card when it isn't working to make one of the other decks. Absolutely a logistical and money nightmare, but it's funny to me.
What a coincidence. Your next deck is gonna be Fossils right when I have been grinding to build them. After tests on Edopro, they are really fun and are probably gonna get you a decent distance, though I doubt you'd get all The way to diamond if I were to guess. They are particularly funny being played with the Dogmatika engine, essentially turning your extra deck into a 15-chamber revolver that you can even possibly use for it's intended fusion summons.
8:26 Not _astronomically_ low. People throw that word around but astronomical orders of magnitude are 10^9 and higher (let's just say that astronomically low means the multiplicative inverse of that, 10^(-9) and lower); your chances to draw particular cards, however, were like 10^(-6), if I recall correctly. The difference is a factor of a thousand, the same as between two pounds of flour and a metric ton.

There are 76 URs and 400 SRs in the Legacy packs. So you should have had about a 48% chance to get at least one Ojamatch (34% you get one, 11% you get two, 3% you get three or more) and about a 31% chance to get at least one Ojama Pajama (26% you get one, 5% you get two,
Watching these snail-slow animations and wacky banlists really makes me miss the old days on EDOPro :(
1:44:44 I know that feeling, even when the deck brick so hard I just can’t feel mad playing them
Oh god the madness…THE MADNESSS!!!
Another reason why fusion tag may not have worked is because it is sometimes ruled that fusion tag only affects fusion material, so it sometimes doesnt work with contact fusion. i think TCG has that, and OCG doesnt, but dont quote me on that.
37:25 just for personal use to go back and relive this moment
Seeing "Rhapsody in Berserk" coming in clutch was my personal highlight of this ladder climb
Of course an Ojama video from someone who knows Rata HAD to have an Ojama Lime cameo :D
Found you from the Theduellogs Duel Logs, nice job keep it up!
My man really out here chazzin' it up, playing ojamas, armed dragon, and VWXYZ
My God, whaling to Ojamas... What a terrifying time to live in.
1:01:38
Clearly, the 3rd best way to search Ojama blue after Ojamatch and rescue cat is Summoner monk summoning the rescue cat.
1:04:43
It takes a calm and brave spirit to admit that the 3 SR one just crafted were useless.
That fucking Ojamirror Match is crazy.
Also you using Fusion Tag was very funny.
Funny beard man in pain made me happy. Subscribed 🙂👍
My favorite archetype, which is, sadly, absolutely awful. Haven't finished the video yet, but i'm really glad to see the madness. I love this series, and hope you had at least a bit of fun making OJAMAS of all things
**Hears the Song at **13:41****
Nice to See Shane McMahon of the WWE stop by for a Cameo, thanks Joe!
58:40 YOOOOOOO CYBER GRIND BASED BASED BASED BASED
I feel like the legendary fisherman and water monsters in general are very underrepresented in mainstream Yu-Gi-Oh.
1:53:43 the token only locks you into synchros while it is on field. It's ashuna that locks you into WYRMS, not synchros.
Ah I see.
In the middle of this episode Hardleg lost his mind and put 2 hat on … i say hats of for that
I forget how you choose the decks for this series, but you should try Spirit Charmers. I got Diamond 1 with them last season and had a blast
It's up to the $10+ Patrons to choose.
I love this series so much.
ah yes obligate ojama lime reference
if we hear jimble voice the circle will be complete in this ojama ritual
In watching ads to help recover that cost. Yikes, but thanks for doing it so we don't have to
What a coincidence.
Let's gooooooo Fossil Fusion yeaaahhhh
18:35 when the combos have combos 🤯
I feel validated in crafting my ojama cards seeing this video the combo losses to hand traps but man is it fun to play.
The fact he actually fuckin made the ojamegazord without fusion tag is truly insane
Next deck could be World Chalice! Mediocre deck with interesting mechanics and the best lore in the game! Great series, love to see more!
That Duel 2 was the funniest serious yugioh match I have ever seen
39:53 best-noise-ever
This vid was awesome! Tho a suggestion for the series is try to get to Diamond with Infernoble/Noble Knights!
"Ojamadness" is brilliant
330 packs (33 pack perchases in groups of 10) before the ojamatch
