i went to a Carmen concert when i was 8, got baptized at church the next day. Now, i'm a youth pastor. Thanks to my awesome Godly parents and one of this guys concerts. 21 years ago...
THIS SONG MEANS SO MUCH TO ME, WHEN I WAS 7 YRS OLD I WAS IN AN EXPLOSION, I HAVE METAL ALL THROUGH ME BUT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD, I WAS DIOGNOSED WITH CANCER AT 26, BUT IT'S GONE AND I'M STILL HERE. THEN MY YOUNGEST CHILD , WHEN HE WAS BORN THE DR'S CAME IN AND SAID HE WOULDN' T MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT, HE IS NOW 24 YRS OLD AND STRONGER AND BIGGER THAN ANY OF MY CHILDREN AND I HAVE 5. PRAISE GOD
i RAISED 3 BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIANS ON CARMANS AND DON FRANCISCOS MUSIC. i WILL NEVER REGRET IT. GOD BLESS YOU FOR THE MUSIC GOD HAS GIVEN YOU AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH US HIS FOLLOWERS.
I saw Carman many times in the 80's. His music had a huge impact on my life back then. Listening to this today all I could do was smile and still got cold chills when Jesus Calls Lazarus forth!
When I first heard this song I was a teenage and not a Christian, and as a result this song didn't make any sense to me. But now that I've been a Christian for several years and I've actually read the Bible this song means a lot to me. Thanks for posting!
This song gave me goosebumps also. But it wasn't till 2002 it took on personal meaning. I have a lazarus. Laying on a hospital gurney my parents were told I would be gone in a matter of hours. Several hours later they told them I would either be dead or in a coma by morning. I walked out of the hospital two days later. There was supposed to be irreparable damage to my organs. A test verified they were functioning, but better than a person of 19 years. TO GOD BE PRAISE HONOR AND GLORY.
Me, my brother and my mom used to rewind this song on the cassette in our car 15-20 times before we heard the next song! The Holy Ghost his me every time! It feels like the first time I heard it, every time! They don't make em like they used to. Anointed.
I love Carman, and I love this song! I have never seen Carman perform, but I wish I could have! This was one of my favorite songs that he sings. My fav. is "The Champion".
This song is for me...... When i was 4 i fell out of a 2 story window. I hit the ground and was unconcious. It took my mom 10 seconds to get downstairs. Now some say i could have survived that. and i did. But not only did i survive, when the doctors were looking at my x-rays, absolutly nothing was wrong with me except for a scratch on my foot. Just shows that God is ALWAYS there. Love never fails!!!!!
im extremely glad that your responses to this have been all positive. The first person to condemn you condemns himself. Look, if i go out and lose my virginity out of wedlock, then i can't ever get that back. But i know that god is forgiving and he wont let that destroy me, as long as i truly ask his forgiveness. The same to you, miss. God ain't NEVER gonna stop loving you, and dont you dare believe neone who says otherwise!!! I pray his blessings on you always. amen
this song always drew my attention as a young girl and it highlights the moments od despair and even in the peaceful times when should be listening to the voice of the Lord. It's also profound in that God will keep you and bless you no matter the situation and upon further reflection if you are living according to his word like all the people carman mentioned. Carman go a 'Fro going on. He looks like an African American brother; how cool is that!
Carmen was instrumental in strenghtening my faith in God when I was a young believer! I remember going to his concerts and I feel that they were all a major part of making me who I became in Christ! Especially the Witches Invitation and Sunday's on the Way! Thank you Carmen if you're out there reading this! =)
honey God loves you just as you are. Don't let anyone tell you different. You love the Lord and you have claimed him as your saviour then you are his! blessings
If you haven't seen Carman in concert, you must! I have been crazy about him since 1980. When he begins praising the Lord it draws the angels from heaven to partake in the praise and the Presence of the Lord and His glory fill the room. Thank you for posting. God Bless you and Carman- he is on tour again.
thanks for posting your comment enderjsvl. I've seen Carman since he was doing small church's all the way to concerts at Cowboys Texas Stadium and Reunion Arena in Dallas. He always stays the same. His Concerts are always full of fun and inspiration.
Praying complete and total healing for Carman. Satan is trying very hard to silence his voice with cancer but I am believing that like Lazarus the Lord will raise Carman up totally healed!!!!
I saw this in person when I was 3 years old, the memory just flooded into me tonight. I had to look to see if it was posted. Thank you for the upload. I remember that being the first time being Spirit filled and wow what a feeling it is. To God be the glory and and a few props to Carman, AMAZING!!
This is the very first song of Carman's that I ever heard. I was so blessed by it that he is why I started listening to Christian music & have followed Carman ever since. I've seen him in concert many times too. He has been a real inspiration to me in my Christian walk with the Lord.
Im going through a rough time, I know jesus is by my side showing me the way but at times its hard, but when I hear this kind of music that is when I know everything will be okay.
man thank God for Carman. i grew up listening to him. we wouldn't have Christian music today like we do if not for Carman being such a pioneer. musicians like him, keith green, and andre crouch. i got some respect for them guys.
As cheesy as this is it is one of the most amazing things I have seen in my entire life and I've seen a lot of things all his videos are the most amazing things I've seen
i started going again after 10 years. even though i left the church this song was on my favs. and still today i cary thank you so much i can not get a CD and share this song on you tube and help them thank you sooo much i had 10 ppl looking and i remembered some the lyrics but most was off . i was reading a site that i had to give a devotion for institute for a class and it so hit me and i was able to find it in 3 mins.
@NALU23 I was thinking 1986 myself at least that's the year that our theatre group at church camp did a one act play of this as a musical, very powerful !!!!
Thank God for the sing and for the one who uploaded it here. I lost my copy o this song when my HDD Crushed. From that time i have been looking for the song.
I love this video. It made chill bumps on me just thinking what it must have been like when this happened. I felt as though I was there. Thank you for sharing this with us!!!!! God Bless
This song is wonderful if your filled with the Holy Spirit you can feel Gods love in this song Carmen was truly filled with The Holy Ghost when he sang this its my most favorite.God is such an awesome God the one and only true living God.
Actually I beleive 1994 was the release of "The Standard". This song is from 1984's "Comin' on Strong" album. By 1994 Carman was already doing Stadiums with up to 70,000 plus people in attendance.
There only a couple hand fulls of great story song singers and there are even fewer great story song writers and singers, and yet even fewer that rise to the level of Carman!
@NALU23 this was done in the 80's..I rollerskated to it.. I also had the tape.. as for staduims.. in 1990 Carman came to the Civic Center in Saint Paul and did an all donation concert.. no one did that.. he filled it too and it was a staduim
I was in a coma for 8 days and my parents did not know if I would live or die. On the 9th day my mom came in and she said that my eyes were no longer glazed and she knew I would be alright. She said the first words I said were,"God made that tree."

Even after 25 years...this song gives me chills

Carman was my mother's favorite and now it's my favorite. This song is true power
This song gave me goosebumps also. But it wasn't till 2002 it took on personal meaning. I have a lazarus. Laying on a hospital gurney my parents were told I would be gone in a matter of hours. I'm not Christian, but Carman is a great songwriter. He's very talented.
I cannot listen to this song without crying at the end, knowing that there will come a day when we are called forth! I love it!
5:24 This actually brought tears to my eyes.
I really know why all of them immediately jumped up. Truly a masterpiece, filled with the spirit.
My older brother and I used to act this out in the living room when we were kids. He was always Jesus and I was Lazarus.
I love Carman, and I love this song! I have never seen Carman perform, but I wish I could have! This was one of my favorite songs that he sings. My fav. is "The Champion".
I remember first hearing this song about 25 years ago and it is still awesome!

My mom died of cancer in 1985. She used to love this song.

I was in a coma for 8 days and my parents did not know if I would live or die. On the 9th day my mom came in and she said that my eyes were no longer glazed and she knew I would be alright. She said the first words I said were,"God made that tree."
