The K&R Performance Engineering Pro Cube Z-Plus Delay Box could be my favorite product on my race car... This delay box was a GAME CHANGER for me! In this video I dive into all of the features and capabilities of this delay box, as well as why I have been using it for years and have no plans to change..
Z-force is a patent pending feature exclusive to K&R delay boxes! With Z-force, the driver has the option to use the delay box in "push" mode. This allows the transbrake to be set with one push of the button, and the delay timing to be activated with a second push. Gone are the days of getting tense and "flinch" reacting before the tree! All pro-cube delay boxes can also be used in "standard" mode if Z-force isn't your thing.
The small size of the box, easy to use user interface, and the ability to control dual dial-in boards directly from the box make the Pro Cube my favorite box on the market. To top it all off, Kevin and the team at K&R are AWESOME dudes, and are SUPER EASY to work with. Give them all call if you ever have any questions or issues with your Pro-cube, they would be happy to help!

Hey guys! The K&R Performance discount has changed! Use code “gallstar5” for 5% off your entire order! Storewide!
Thanks for the video, very helpful! Question regarding the timer, can it shift twice? I have a 3 speed th400
Just hooked up and wired up the Pro-Stage to my Pro-Cube yesterday, cant wait to get to the track, Talked to Kevin during the process, he will answer any questions you have, He even told me how to stage the car!
Kevin’s customer service is what sold me to him. His product is excellent but on or off the track he is there to help you.
exactly... Customer service is everything. Kevin and Eric are always SUPER helpful and knowledgeable
I bought a used K&R Pro Cube a couple years ago. well the case of it was beat up pretty good where you couldn't read any of the wiring call-outs. since mine was an older unit i was worried they wouldn't have any replacement cases. I called Kevin and he by far has the best Customer Service hands down! super friendly as well!! he had a used case sitting around and sent it to me without question.
1. This is the first time i have spoke to Kevin.
2. His customer service is untouchable!
3. for me not buying a box from him in the first place and Kevin doing what he did .... Makes me a K&R guy for life!
P.S. Great video Tom!
Awesome Scott! Untouchable customer service. Well said!!
I am running the same box, love it so far.
Pro-cubes FTW!
I'm a foot braker by heart but been thinking of dabbling in the top bulb world. Thanks for the awesome video
No problem Derek! I hope you take advantage of the coupon code and GOOD LUCK!!!
Does it have a pea rice feature for the tree
I run a pro cube in my dragster. Everything K&R for my cars. Great company. Love the video!
Thanks Greg! K&R to the front!!
Helped me out a lot because I have used digital delay boxes for years and pro cube I am using now after buying our Beretta about a month ago has a pro cube
Great information. Keep bringing those kind of tutorials.
Andrew Placeres will do my friend 👍👍
That's one great box!
Which transbrake button are you using in this example?
Biondo Double 00 Button
Okay so you showed us how to work it when you're crossing over what if I'm not crossing over
If you are not crossing over simply put your own dial in on both sides 👍
@@GallStarTV can you zero out just opponents or both.is there a switch like the CO2 by dedenber that you can just switch from your tree to there tree
@@user-zf3vy3sb5f yeah if you’re not crossing over it doesn’t really matter at all what you put in on the opponents side of the box. You could put zeros, you could put your dial in there, or anything in between. As long as you don’t put a slower dial in the opponents side the box will not add any cross over time into the delay cycle 👍
Just got my pro cube in the mail over the weekend I love it and cant wait to kick some ass with it. I am def interested in trying the z force
Keith Cleveland awesome!!! It doesn’t come overnight tho! Def spend some time on a practice tree trying zforce for awhile first (if you have a next gen practice tree of course!)! it takes some time to get used to
Pulled the trigger on the PCT-1, this is my second Delay Box from K&R. I cant wait for it to get here, it is time to re do the dash and gauges. Thanks for the $$ , Kevin is awesome to work with, Delay Board maybe next year.
which is better to shift in time or rpm
I believe that shifting off of time is slightly more consistent, but to be honest, I'm not sure if the difference is measurable
Does the Z-Force feature require a special (Z-force) button ? or any button will do?
Any button works with the z-force feature. You can switch z-force on and off at anytime!
And you said it might be a week or more before you released a video on the Pro Cube Z-force... I was surprised and excited to see it pop up in my notifications this evening. Thanks for running through the operations of it. I'm still curious about the starting line routine and getting consistent with Z-force but I'm sure it's just a matter of practice and making passes. Thanks for the video!
Hey Jim! I'm glad you liked the video. I might make another video just about the whole starting line process in the future. Especially if people are interested!! 👍
@@GallStarTV I'd definitely be interested in a video on starting line techniques & routines!
Just told a guy at test an tune about this video. Hope he found it!
Awesome!!! Thanks man 👊
K&r did not give me 5% off my order and I talked to Kevin that I saw your video when my delay box came they charged me full price 😒
Hey CJ - sorry to hear about this. Did you place the order online or over the phone?
I'm like you I love the Pro Cube, I'm getting ready to wire up the Pro Stsge and Im a little bit lost on doing it.
Hey Tom I was wondering of what type of display box were you running
are you talking about the dial in boards? They are also from K&R performance 👍
When are you going to make the video on wiring up the Pro Stage to the Pro Cube and using the bump down switch to activate
Have to follow this, interested in how to wire up and use the bump down myself, I'm probably reading into it too much, hearing and seeing will probably click with me
So timer 2 and 3 would be for like a throttle stop option?
Kody Floyd you are correct sir 👍👍
Hey buddy. Jus removed knr pro cube. Purchased n installed new zforce. Ok. Lil problem. No 1 timer has continuous power. I use for shifter. Any ideas. Thanks
Hey Victor, it sounds like to you need to change the timer configuration from "normally on" mode to "normally off" mode. Put the horizontal switch to the middle ("CFG") and the vertical switch also to the middle ("TREE"). You should then be able to switch the left side of the screen (the timer 1 side) from "nOn" to "nOFF". I hope this helps!!
Ok, I’m thinking about getting a Pro cube with Z-Force plus. I have an ancient Dedenbear at the moment. Was wondering if hookups the same or will there be more wiring involved?
Jonathan Goggans it’s hard to say since I don’t know exactly what you have, but I would imagine a lot of it would transfer over to the new box. K&Rs website has all the instruction manuals on there if you wanted to dig into it a little more. Otherwise give Kevin a call! He’s SUPER nice and easy to talk to 👍👍
What is the delay numbers for?
I am rewiring my car this winter and definitely going with the K&R kit, but I am on the fence about their delay box. I often run both classes, meaning I would be pulling the box out and putting it back in a ton. That said, I am worried about the switches being fragile and getting damaged. Seems like some of the other boxes with a push button might be a little more durable for my application. Your thoughts???
Jerry, I can see your concern if you haven't been hands on with this box... BUT as someone who has used pro-cube delay boxes since 2006, I can tell you first hand that the box is stout. I wouldn't have any concern with removing and handling the box to go top and bottom bulb racing. In fact, I know of people that do just that with the pro-cube. And if you are planning to go all K&R with your rewiring, might I add that they also offer electronic dail-in board that DO NOT have to connect to the pro-cube (they use a separate controller). That way you can still use the dail-in boards even when running bottom bulb. Something to keep in mind!
@@GallStarTV Yeah, I am going with the dial boards and controller too. I've used the K&R box a couple of times in other people's cars, but never in a situation where I've been swapping it in and out. Just a little concerned with breaking a switch off.
@@jerrymarcum4684 I feel like it would be unlikely.. but probably not impossible. The button style delay boxes it would be impossible. However, I would still go Pro-Cube 👊😁
I've been using the K&R box for years. After talking to Kevin, I upgraded to the Z-Force this year. I love the option to use it either way(push or release).
I am using it for two classes and I have no concerns about hurting the box taking it in and out. This thing is stout I've got mine mounted on a Ram-Mount, so it's super easy to move in or out. I've got a ball mounted in the trailer to keep it on when I'm running footbrake. No worries about it getting knocked around when it's not in the car.
What transbrake button do you use and what transbrake solenoid do you use?
I have been using my steering wheel transbrake button held down while steering the car in reverse. It is a bit clumsy while turning. If I set the lock out to 20 seconds as you did, would I just have to hit the transbrake button once and it would be locked out for 20 seconds allowing me to complete my reverse? Then reset the switch? hmmm never tried it.
Hey Chad, the transbrake lockout is just so you can't engage the transbrake a second time right after it has released and you started your run. That way you don't hit it while going down track. HOWEVER, I have found that it is much easier to back up while using Z-force for that exact reason. Just click the button one time and back up, no holding the button required. Then I use the reset switch to reset the box instead of waiting for it to cycle through the delay and the whole pass. I hope that helps and makes sense!!
@@GallStarTV Thank You! Im going to try it. If you can visualize pressing the button mounted on the steering wheel while turning...It gets very difficult and could be a safety issue. Thanks again! I enjoy your channel!
Great info, I have the same issue with the roadster. if your thumb slips off the button while in reverse you have to reset the box to get back into reverse.
Right now I have the digital 450 and the car shift at 6000rpm, with the pro cube z force you can choose between rpm or timer? or just timer? Thank you
Just timer. I used to run my shifter on RPM but after switching to timer I believe shifting on time is more consistent too.
yay
Use K&R products also.
What trans break button do you use?
2.8k subscribers are now going to change out boxes.....which sucks...because now you've made it easier for THEM to win rounds....
Oh, well.
...more time for hotdogs....on a stick? with no breading....
Does that make them skewers?
🤣 more like a popsicle... 🤦🏻♂️
Does the Starting line enhance activate when pressing the transbrake button (automatically) or do you have to use the bump button to activate that part every hit?
Box are for guys that can't race. Their bullshit. Why even race. Your kinda taking out the hole point of drag racing. People that use boxes should be ashamed of themselves. Man up.
How can you even feel good about a win using a box. Smh..
You obviously have no clue what a box does. I’ll take my box out, you Come race me. You can feel ashamed while I go to the bank.
Ahhh boy here we go.. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂
