@Melanie Aprube well, he was love struck in this scene too. You can see him gasp as he looks at the light fury, then smile nervously. It’s clear that whichever scene is considered their first meeting, he’d be a melting mess of love lol

Honestly the light fury just attacking humans completely unprovoked in the movie, and everyone just being cool with that (including toothless who doesn’t even try to fight the stranger trying to kill his best friend) always confused me. Like you can’t say it was because she was mistreated by humans, since the dragons in the first movie (stormfly, meatlug, hookfang, barf, and belch) were all captured and went through way worse experiences with human, but still never went out of their way to hurt people unnecessarily, and stopped trying to attack when they realized the kids were trying to help them.
well, in the movie everyone was pretty chill when random dragons started attacking them. Ever since the first movie, actually. Hiccup would tame dragons and stop them from being savage, all to prove that dragons shouldn't be killed. Hiccup in the third movie clearly wanted to befriend the light fury (just like he did before with every wild dragon), he even said it himself, because she was Toothless's love interest and he didn't want to make her run away from him because she was afraid of Hiccup. But still, it would've been a great touch to see her actions in the cage; wild and stressed. It would've told more about her and actually help understand why she's acting like how she was acting ever since they first met her in the woods. Her also warming up to Toothless in the movie kinda ruined her whole point of having trust issues due to her trauma. She quickly caught feelings for him, which was pretty odd, now comparing with the deleted scene where she doesn't even trust him until she realises he wants to help her
not all dragons can be tamed that easy, the furies and the skrills are difficult. Toothless realized in one scene of the first movie that he could not fly without Hiccup, so he needed to trust him
Keep in mind that fury's as a species are more intelligent then other species of dragons, also Toothless did not trust Hiccup right away either, Hiccup had to earn that trust by taking things slow and treating Toothless with patience, love and respect. She was abused by humans with no one, while Toothless although he went through some perilous adventures himself always had Hiccup to rely on to come back for him and help him out of trouble. It's natural that light fury would have less trust in humans then Toothless, after all he already knows that not all people harbor ill will towards dragons while the light fury at that point did not. it was her instinct to attack as it is in all animals experiencing fear when being in flight of flight mode. She was cornered in a cage, could not fly away, could not get out because Hiccup, Astrid and Toothless were in the way of her escape route so she did what any animal would have done.
Nawww you absolutely didn't say that, stormfly meatlung and specially hookfang had all tried to hurt hiccup during the trainings in the first movie, and they had 2 movies and 2 series to readjust to the humans, meanwhile lightfury had what was like days, she has always been a great character and always will be.
