  • It was discovered 18 months ago, but today we can exclusively reveal images of what's believed to a buried Māori village. The discovery was made at Gisborne's port. As Rapaera Tawhai reports, experts estimate the settlement to be as old as 700 years old.

They shouldn't have moved nothing because now they've upset the ancestors and resting place. All of that is tapu , shouldn't have been moved nor touched, they could've just cover it back up and leave it where it is.

@devious1 but it’s not tho, they examined it and everything, that rock doesn’t even come from kaimanawa, it comes from somewhere totally different meaning someone or something moved the huge rocks to kaimanawa hundreds of years ago, and it’s completely impossible for the rock to become that shape, and with straight wholes/gaps through them 🤦‍♂️

@@zealantisyeah you’re right, it’s been restricted until 2065! … why though? I reckon as acknowledging it as significant will not align with a current narrative… Māori living in huts etc OR Māori being the First Nation to nz..

@@JTVSydneyit is interesting indeed. I have visited. Tales tell of beings that inhabited and died long before which means that although it's a mystery, Maaori settled here when these beings had already ceased to exist.
But.. who knows!? Love a great mystery...
