Is there a shortcut to view the structure of the current file? Not the sidedepannel but something quick. I know I can hit command + up arrow and then navigate over the class name and then down into the methods but something more like the file or recent file window.
In a nutshell, for quick file editing I recommend VsCode, but for app development I recommend PhpStorm. VsCode is editor. The biggest advantage of VsCode is that it is free. It is more lightweight and fast, however you need to install plugin for every single feature. PhpStorm is IDE. The difference between IDE and editor is that IDE comes with all necessary tools you need or you might need in the future for application development. I generally use both, but I use VsCode for quickly editing something, but If I want to build something I work with PhpStorm and I recommend everyone to use PhpStorm. It is super intelligent, powerful, It is fast enough after indexation process is finished and fully customizable. I just love working with JetBrains products.
I personally tried to switch to VsCode several times, Customized it as much as I wanted. Tried to work several days fully on VsCode, but for me it was not as good as PhpStorm, so I switched back into PhpStorm. One of the reasons is PhpStorm integrated Database tool, which is really good for me.
if you are more a "keyboard guy", you can navigate to declaration and usages with Ctrl + B (Linux, Windows) and Cmd + B (Mac)

What about ctrl+F12?
@@TheCodeholic Do you know what that might be on a Mac? my F12 is the volume key and control + FN + f12 didn't do anything.
Nice 👍
Thanks
VS code is far from being perfect. I'm considering to move to another editor. How does phpstorm compare to VS code?

@@TheCodeholic Thanks for your answer. I'm a newbe in back end development. Could give me names of resources to learn php?
VS code is great. With the right plugins it almost as good as PhpStorm. But Storm is the best if you can afford it.
