Hot take, but I played thousands of hours on Verdansk never once felt the state of snipers was ever “broken” for the entire two years we were on that map. Snipers were very powerful but advanced movement and good vehicle play kept them in check enough that they never bothered me or anyone else I played with.
Maby for that one time in the beginning when everyone was running thermal scopes. But I agree it felt smooth it felt balanced and it was fun... But the more I think about it the more I miss warzone 1... even coldwar and caldera felt more fun to play than we have now...

I miss the days of hopping into Plunder and going for crazy 500m+ snipes with the LW3, Kar 98 and HDR. Hitting the shots was so rewarding. But timing with explosive rounds the same sort of shots is near impossible and not even worth going for

I built my MCPR with the: silencer L Sonic, Corio laz 44, explosive munition, 5 bullets magazine and the optic forge tac delta 4 and the aim velocity is 458 ms
I don't think they were broken tbh. Especially after the nerf and you could only 1 shot within a certain range. They look broken now in comparison but that's because the sniping on MW3 is awful.
Bro the xrk stalker has a max bullet velocity of 1700. I have to hit 2 times but there's absolutely no bullet drop and you can easily hit people twice in the body. It's a hitscan.
I’ve been using the xrk and while it doesn’t one shot it feels very smooth and easy to use the katt is still king but I find myself using the xrk slot more often
how did you get the view where you can see the amount of bullet drop by distance? i have been having a brutal time understanding bullet drop rate with the KATT. cross hairs straight on target... miss. cross hairs slightly above the head.. miss.
I've been liking sniping within 50-100m and I have been using a 5.5x scope on the Katt. Would it be more worth my while to switch to an mw2 sniper with a shorter scope?
We need them to just let the KV Inhibitor one shot within 75ish meters. Warzone has all of these new snipers and they're only good in Multiplayer... That is crazy.
Katt is still the only one that can one shot at any range (when a headshot) and retains a 1000m/s+ bullet velocity, making it viable for long range sniping. Everything else needs explosive ammo for a one tap, and with around 500m/s+ bullet velocity. Severely limiting its ability at long range but still decent at around 100m to 200m. Lastly, as of this update, the xrk stalker can one tap within 80metres with a max velocity/range build. It can be built aggressively, hence catering to similar play styles to the kar 98k at the end of warzone 1. Beyond that it likely requires explosive (iirc, gotta check for a one tap) It still retains 1300 m/s bullet velocity when non explosive (max range build) making it viable for long range but it needs the follow up shot So depending on your play style, I’d suggest either the katt for slower longer range engagements and the xrk for aggressive engagements. The 500m/s for the explosive snipers are a bit too slow for me, so I don’t use them much. It’s any range headshot capability puts the katt at number 1 for me due to its reliability and catering to my play style.
Mcpr, fjx, make 480 head damage says on hidden detail but it's a funny part the damage range it's too short, the Katt is 360 to the head, but the damage range is 150m, more faster is the Victus with 322 head damage, and range of almost 90 but the bullet travel 1525 vs Katt 1280. In every game, the team of mediocre developers on Activision nerf the damage-distant of the snipers.
FJX build is wrong. You can have 488 ads speed and 504.8 bullet velocity with - Sonic suppressor - VLK laser - Field-wrapped handle - Explosive ammo - Skull-40 grip which makes the FJX better than both MCPR and Victus for aggressive sniping.
I mean, sniping is already hard is it, when you get to a point of mastery with ranges, bullet drop, moving targets etc’ it should be a reward for that learning curve that the game has, costing you games, k/d and a little bit of mental sanity lol. Why making it even harder just because people complain? It’s like nerfing movement because people are good at it (I’m looking at you mw2) Hopefully the Stalker will be added as a one shot without the explosive bullets

That they can’t give us a proper shooting range where players can test damage, accuracy and recoil patterns is embarrassing. For many players, me included, finding the meta builds is part of the experience. The shooting range we have right now is a big disappointment in particular for a AAA game. I’ve maxed out the KATT at 1294 m/s bullet velocity .. please help me understand how that works in relation to the effective and minimum damage range which i have at 125m as opposed to the values you have 1047 m/s and 108m
Not sure what you mean, but more velocity will lead to less bullet drop, ther isnt much to begin with using the build I showed so yours would have slightly less
Pardon me english isn’t my first language .. the bullet drop off starts at the effective damage range or the minimum damage range and does bullet drop off mean less damage being dealt? Thankyou for responding!

You’re right, I was late to the Verdansk party but played rebirth a lot, and movement created a real skill gap for snipers that was balanced.

The firing range in warzone having multiplayer values is just another reason the devs need to separate warzone from call of duty multiplayer releases.

Do not forget the KATT will *always* have a tracer after firing. It's tremendously easy to pinpoint your location unlike the others.
Yea it’s not a tracer after firing it’s a bullet trail the KATs bullet leaves a defined bullet trail which you can then use to gauge your next shot
That bullet trail is stupid. Literally removes the reason to snipe long distance.

If you want to use the mcpr300 dont use the 22 inch barrel use the instead use the sonic suppresor it rwally helps with the ads
MCPR is the best option imo also sonic suppressor > barrel. 12.9 bullet velocity vs 10.5.

Bullet drop should be inversely proportional to bullet velocity.
The bigger the bullet velocity the lesser drop

Ads just ends up being way too slow and for not much of a difference in bullet drop, you can go for max bv though.

What I don’t understand is during solos if I don’t have a self-rez I still get downed instead of straight deleted. Then have to hold to give up.

Bullet drop is how much lower the Bullet lands after being fired from the center of the aim. Low Velocity = More drop.
I built a xrk stalker to one shot kill so it’s not 4 🤷🏾♂️ full health and plated armor
