    You made me fall in love with my natural hair all over again !! Thank you. It's so hard being a 4c girl especially when the curl pattern isn't prominent, but now I know what products help bring out healthy juicy curls, and I can be comfortable with a little frizz.

    Hi! 1st time viewer and new subbie! I noticed you didn't use an oil after your leave-in or applying the gel. Do you use oils? I've heard some naturals don't because it causes more frizz. What's your take on this? ❤ your makeup!

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +4

      Hi! Welcome to my channel! And (face palm) I did kick myself after for not filming the oiling process. I am BIG on oiling my hair and scalp, moisture is key. So after adding gel and once my hair is fully dry (in the video it was only about 75% dry in the end) I then add on oil to help lock in the moisture. From there I add oil before bed and in the morning to maintain shine. I also usually add castor oil to my roots as I put in leave in conditioner but in this instance I was in a rush :( But yes, oil is super important to my routine!

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +1

      Thank you! And with air drying your hair is going to be a bit tighter/more shrunken. When it's blown out from the root that'll make the hair bigger. Nothing wrong at all with air drying though!

  • @leandramcnair

    Love this style so much! My problem when I do it is after a few days I get a BUNCH of one strand knots 😫 any recommendations on how to prevent that??
    You’re gorgeous btw!

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +2

      Hey!! Yeah, that is definitely kind of inevitable with a wash and go because the hair isn't separated like with a twist out. I will say my wash and go's don't last as long as my twist out, but the best way to keep them as long as possible is by keeping them moisturized. A good oil before bed and in the morning as a refresh has helped me with this issue, but honestly my wash and gos last 3 - 4 days before I have to re-do them.

    • @wannabe41
      @wannabe41 5 років тому +2

      In my experience, if you have type 4 hair, it’s nearly impossible to avoid single strand knots if you try to stretch your wash and go beyond 3 to 4 days because this hair type tends to dry out faster in this style. I usually cowash and redo my wash and go after the 3rd or 4th day. If I don’t have time to redo it, I choose a different style.

    • @claro.qve.mi365
      @claro.qve.mi365 5 років тому +1

      Detangle from your ends with a leave in conditioner or oil. Single strand knots occur when your hair is mad tangled and you just rush in and manhandle dry hair. So avoid that as much as possible (they are inevitable tbh)

    Does your hair get tangled or cut up by the end of the Denman brush teeth? I would like to buy a brush like that, but the one I had used to trap my hair and break it. Thx for answering!

    • @jennyh3316
      @jennyh3316 5 років тому +2

      Lillie hey, I own a denman and it doesn’t rip out hair it’s pretty flexible and thoroughly detangles through your hair. But you would HAVE to make sure it’s the denman brand name. I made the mistake of accidentally buying the wrong brush, although it looked the same. That brush ripped my hair out so make sure u get the denman.

    • @toopidipoo1153
      @toopidipoo1153 5 років тому

      jenny E thank you for letting me know. My problem with the brush I have is the tip of the bristle. The hair gets tangled in it. I hope this one does not have a similar architecture. I think that adding the balls at the tip of the brush only creates knots or breaks the hair strand.

    • @jennyh3316
      @jennyh3316 5 років тому +1

      Lillie I hate those brushes my hair always gets stuck. I avoid them like the plague. But definitely try the denman it was my first good experience with a brush

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +1

      Hi Lillie! It doesn't, and similar to what Jenny said below you should make sure it's the Denman brush brand. Also when detangling always start from the ends and work your way up so you aren't ripping the hair out. Lastly, when you detangle make sure your hair is very saturated with water and a moisturizing conditioner or leave-in.

    Lovely hair! Question - do you have much shedding while brushing/ combing out your ends?? I'm not having good results with my current method. I like your technique!! I think I may try changing and adding some of your tips/ tricks. Thanks so much for this video!!!!🙂💙

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому

      So the most shedding I have is when I do my full detangle method in the shower while washing my hair out. It depends on what style I had it in beforehand. So if I'm in the shower washing my hair and detangling after a twist out, I'll have a little less shedding than after an old wash and go because it tangles up more in that style. Also, the amount my hair sheds depends on how long I've had a style in as well, because again it tangles up more the longer you go without detangling. Usually when I'm onto the part of adding in leave-in conditioner and gel which you see here there isn't much shedding at all as long as I've fully detangled it in the shower beforehand. Let me know if that answers your question? Thanks for watching!

    Question... how do you wrap your hair at night?

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +1

      Sigh, so this question always makes me a little nervous to answer because what I do doesn't necessarily work for everyone. I've tried the pineapple and it always makes my hair flat or dented. I've also done just a bonnet but then it makes my hair too compact. I usually just sleep on my satin pillowcase from The Hollywood Silk Solutions: www.thehollywoodsilksolution.com/collections/all-products/products/pink. It's pricey ($45) but I've had it for a while and take it with me on vacation. It keeps my hair looking nice for multiple days. With natural hair no matter what you do at night, frizz is inevitable, but with this pillowcase, I've found that my hair still looks good for multiple days.

      @AishaBeau  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! A leave-in has specific properties that help to retain the moisture in your hair and is a good base. So I'd always recommend a leave-in and then any type of curl smoothie/cream or styling product!

    My Wash n go’s always end up making my hair really dry by the end of the day. What do I do??😭

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  4 роки тому

      Wash and go's can definitely be drying. So I try to use a moisture rich leave-in like the Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-In Detangler or the Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave-In Detangling Hair Treatment. Also, the Aunt Jackie's gel isn't harsh on my hair. Once my wash and gos are fully dry I always add on oil to help seal the moisture. And i refresh my hair with oil every morning after.

    Once you apply your leave in... you apply the gel right after?! I’m seeing that you’re not spraying more water on your hair and your hair isn’t soaking/dripping wet before you apply the gel! You style without water?!

    Came out beautifully! i bought that gel recently and was going to return it after reading all the negative feedback on its ingredients... After seeing you use it too I'm now inclined to keep it. lol. Any thoughts about the ingredients?

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +1

      Hi! This is a good question, I think what has turned most people off may be that the gel includes a number of preservatives, which gives it a longer shelf-life. To be honest, I've used it for a majority of my time while being natural and haven't come across any issues with my hair. I don't see too much negativity about it, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. What are others saying?

    • @trinimaican2501
      @trinimaican2501 5 років тому

      @@AishaBeau thanks so much for responding! Your hairs looks very healthy so I'm sure it's just an individual's experience and ultimately an individual's decision. The main thing I've read is the presence of lye or sodium hydroxide in the gel which naturally curly has stated the manufacturers explained is meant to "loosen" curls rather than to be a preservative. I imagine the amount of sodium hydroxide in this gel is not great and may be used as a pH balancer??

    • @reneeknight1028
      @reneeknight1028 5 років тому +2

      I use the same gel, occasionally. I love it my favorite.

    • @AishaBeau
      @AishaBeau  5 років тому +2

      @@trinimaican2501 Hi! Thanks so much for giving me the exact reason you saw. You are right about the pH--the low levels of Sodium Hydroxide in hair care products (it's in a few other natural hair products as well) is to help balance out the pH given the other potentially acidic ingredients. Since it then neutralizes it does no damage or loosening of the hair. I think what you're seeing is most people noticing the ingredient but not doing the research as to why it's included. As someone who's used this product for almost 2 years, I haven't seen any loosening of my curls or damage to my hair as a result of it. I appreciate you bringing this up because I'm sure others watching the video may be hesitant as well! Thank you again!
