Scouts travel to discovered locations i think like 50% faster than undiscovered locations, so sending a team to a discovered location that is relatively in line with your target location will save time
I myself don’t play in anything higher than normal out of fear of failure, to do this in extreme, hats off to ya
Play at a level you have the most fun! I would recommend trying hard difficulty, the sense of achievement is great if you can survive!

i also stumbled at the same dilemma,when having an automaton was a relief but i forgot the heating😅😅

Why when you use scouts do you goto places you have already explored rather then just sending them to the new place straight away?
He does it because it's faster. This way, the scouts can partially travel along an already known route instead of navigating the unknown the full way.
