Every time I hear this it sends me back to my childhood. I grew up half a mile from this church and these bells were the soundtrack of long summer evenings playing in my back garden until it got dark. I could listen to this forever, it's as if it is etched into my very soul. Absolutely beautiful!

Indeed. The first thing one needs for a good piece of ringing is for the rounds to be as good as possible. I once listened to a peal by a visiting band at Coventry. They rang rounds for at least 4 minutes before going into changes! Then in changes it's a matter of a hell of a lot of trial and error... adjustment for all sorts of variables. I'm glad my videos are helpful.
As for Rod Pipe, unfortunately he suddenly died last week. He was a giant of ringing and he's sorely missed across ringing.

Is that Rod Pipe on the 7th?

Thanks for posting this great piece of ringing... I am a struggling ringer who is trying to ring better by listening carefully. Listening carefully is what they did when their ringing settled in at the start.... it was pretty smooth sailing after that. I also love the 7's bell ringer's name.... Rod Pipe. Great name!
