I've pretty much seen this pack as the "Canon-EX roster", as now we can decide to give Mage 2 an XL F16 (If only we could grant Mage 1 the same option), Strider 1 yet another Eagle to lead the formation with, or an FB-22 when we decide to play by the box-art & cinematic's rules, but also want to be a little rebellious about it (Spare 15 can mostly do whatever he likes as long as it keeps him out of solitary).

The fact that they made a pack featuring real life planes certainly doesn't exclude the possibility of that happening. Id rather want to see a "veterans" pack with the draken, F-5 and either the su-25 or su-24. As much I want the harrier, I understand why they had to to scrap it for AC7.
The ACTIVE in AC04 was actually a single-seater, unlike the real S/MTD. What's interesting is that on PC, there was already an S/MTD mod which was built on the F-15C - and so, exactly like in AC04, a single-seater
In my Headcanoon, Both Wiseman and Trigger flies the MTD, this should have be the Flagship of AC7, it would have been nice that the F-15S had a protagonist role with the good guys and it makes sense if you consider the fact that the MTD has been used by the Osean elite squadrons in the past, and for once, not be used for the atagonist role.

Good taste with the Aurelian roundel there, representing this glorious nation! I do echo your sentiment with the MTD being... not *bad* but certainly kinda underwhelming in terms of agility, it flies fast, as you'd expect from an Eagle, but that means slowing down to actually make use of its PSM abilities is quite impractical. Its payload is also surprisingly low on standards, HPAA and HVAA; FAEB is the only weapon it has with a good payload (The same as the FALKEN's). Still a very cool-looking plane (And yes, looking cool *does* matter!) and a fun one to fly, it's not like singleplayer requires being at the absolute top of your game at all time, after all.
After flying it some myself I definitely agree with your sentiment. Despite its intended purpose, its mobility really DOES feel a lot more like a light bomber than a craft designed to be nimble.
Seems like the DLC planes have nerfed ammo counts. I like that it doesn't have 4/6AAM tho, since the F-15S/MTD is made from an F-15B and predates the introduction of the AMRAAM. As a maneuver testbed, I'm not sure it's radar and weapon systems were updated to F-15C standards. Idk if it could natively utilize the AMRAAM.
Since there are already experimental machines, it's time to expand the range of fighters from our world in Ace Combat 7. I would like to inform you right away that my proposals do not include the F-117A, AV-8B+ and EA-18G, because they are already in the game, but in unplayable version, but may come back. Tornado is also not on the list due to its expired license and the fact that it will soon be phased out - unless the next game in the series has a storyline in the past. I'm surprised your disappointed, I agree that it should probably be a little more mobile but I personally love the HVAA and the FAEB. I did a test run on Roca Roja and got my highest score I've gotten on that mission by dropping FAEBs and then switching to HVAA once the ground targets were all dead.
It's not great for campaign, but it's an absolute blast in the multiplayer. The speed and energy retention of the F-15C but with the sustained turn rate and PSM of the SU-37, this evening I had it turning inside a Mig 21's circle, it's brilliant. The HPAA/HVAA keep it from being absurdly over powered, if it had SASM or QAAM it would be too much.
Yeah, PSM alone is a massive boon in MP, along with that speed. It's really not my specialty, though - the prospect of going slow enough to PSM is terrifying.
I don't want to be that guy but this isn't the ACTIVE model. The ACTIVE has 3d thrust vectoring like an F-35, while the S/MTD has 2d vectoring like the F-22.
@@Mick-oi3wy The only combat aircraft with 3D thrust vectoring are J-20, MiG-35, Su-35S(the one we have in AC7, not the one that's in AC5 and earlier titles), and the Su-57.
I think the loadout for the mtd could be just as the one from Infinity with minor changes for the air-to-air weapon and ONLY ONE AA sp. Weapon. They could Either : *SAAM / HVAA / 4AAM (even HCAA could work here) *LAGM *FAEB
They gave us HPAAs and HVAAs. This now means that the only air-to-air missile that’s not available on the F-15 platform is the 8AAMs. I’m fairly happy with this, the Eagles are meant to be air superiority fighters outside of the Strike Eagle. The J already has SAAMs and HCAAs, and the C has 4AAMs. If I were to make a change, I’d swap this things HVAAs for Machine Gun Pods.

Hello. I know this is completely unrelated to the video, but I'm running out of options on the matter and I'd like to ask you about this since you seem to have lots of experience with this game. Basically, it's a performance issue - The game starts out running really well, solid 100 - 144 fps, but after playing a mission for a bit, the performance starts to chug and tons of microstutters start to happen on top of the framerate dipping. This performance decrease carries over to the hangar and some of the menus. Sometimes, I don't even have to play a mission for this to happen: I just sit on the hangar and the performance will start to decrease, as if it were a water jar being poured. I think it should be noted that this never happened during my first playthrough. I've tried a clean install, verifying game files, messing with .ini files and Nvidia Control Panel, rolling back and updating drivers, testing tons of graphics configurations... But nothing seems to work. Anyway, this wall of text has gone on long enough, and I really appreciate anybody taking the time to read it. Thanks a lot!
I bought everything on the aircraft tree and parts including multiplayer, beat the game on Ace Difficulty, 2 ranks for commander in chief rank 5. And I still don't know how to do a post stall maneuver
this f15 is cool but not a fan of the external gun pod :( this aircraft doesn't have external gun pod in the previous ac games and it gives the plane a clean look
At the same time, this is a more accurate rendition of the S/MTD (the real-life plane had the Vulcan removed in favor of the canards). This is a research plane, first and foremost.
@@mrandrossguy9871 - you're forgetting that the Raptor from 2000 (the pre-production variant) is different from the one currently in service, right? PA had to keep that into consideration when making the skins as the fighters are constantly modified and upgraded from time to time.
@@Lt.Foulke They nerfed it due to it being an absolute meme in 6. A good A-10 driver in AC6 Multiplayer could take down opposing fighters with the FAEB. Hell I've seen it done. In campaign the A-10 was my go to for dunking on the Aigaion and Chandelier.
@@WastelandWanderer1216 I wouldn't judge the AC6 FAEB just for the multiplayer memes. I actually think it was well balanced there: trades huge AoE for lower damage, but it's still effective. It's the same idea in 7, but the damage is even lower, the area isn't that big, and worse of all, only one bomb at a time. Where it was truly broken was Zero, where it was flat out better than any other bomb.
Single player-wise, HPAA is okay but there's very few targets that require that level of damage, so it's an overkill weapon with a slow reload. HVAA is pretty much a worse LAAM in my experience. Multiplayer may be a different story, dunno.
About the only part of the description I don't agree with necessarily is the bit about the HVAA, but everything else is on point. I'm not gonna bother going in depth with these planes because, frankly, they're all extremely basic. The real star of this show isn't even the planes themselves, but the possibility this opens up for DLC in the future. We've now set a precedent over real planes getting post launch DLC; and we've basically confirmed anything bar certain planes from Infinity are fair game now. I'd keep my eye open in the future; we might be getting some more old friends too.

I'm gonna have disagree here. No doubt the F/B-22 would clean up the ground and the sea thanks to the SFFS. People still flock to the F-16XL and F-15S/MTD because of the memories - after quite a while, it's good to see them in the latest game. They even have the Wizard and Sorcerer skins - flying them may ring in Spanish guitars within their hearts.

Weaker. The Strike Eagle is (surprisingly) one of the most maneuverable aircraft in the game, while this feels just like a C or J, sluggish. Wish we got stats for it, but seems no one extracted them for the newer DLC aircraft.

This might be the only DLC pack I don't buy for the game. I got the others and have stopped playing the game tbh. Well, I stopped playing games in general. However, none of these planes came with unique weapons or brought something new to the table. The FB-22 is basically outdone by the stock F-22. The F-16XL is another falcon. A cooler looking falcon but nothing exceptional. No special effect in the game. And the F-15S/MTD. An Eagle. These planes are all special in terms of looks and not much else. I get that they don't want DLC to power creep the standard content because multiplayer balance is an illusion they want to keep. the ADF line and other signature super planes bully anyone who isn't skilled and flying a MiG-21. If you aren't memeing in mp, you're doing mediocre most likely. But I just hope the funding from AC7 will make for a great AC8. Kono will most likely make a great soundtrack. He's a very skilled man. The graphics are good for the game and if AC8 is on the same engine, it'll likely look a lil better and be a lil more taxing because of XBX and PS5 and better PC parts as usual. Just hope for a better story and plane selection out of the box.
Ngl asking 5 dollars for a single plane and some jpegs is scummy. It's offensive to call this content when there's no new single player content since the last one and multiplayer being completely abandoned.
To be fair, we're talking about a plane that required negotiations with the manufacturer of said item (especially those who also build military hardware), faithful recreation of control surfaces, cockpit, other details, and recreating and updating skins that first appeared in earlier games and earlier game engines - all while we are in the middle of a pandemic by a small team for a game within a niche genre.

I never knew Sorcerer Squadron was based at Heierlark Base. Kind of interesting since Galm Team launches from it a couple of times.

I'm surprised your disappointed, I agree that it should probably be a little more mobile but I personally love the HVAA and the FAEB. I did a test run on Roca Roja and got my highest score I've gotten on that mission by dropping FAEBs and then switching to HVAA once the ground targets were all dead.

The S/MTD is actually kind of a common high tier plane in the Ace Combat universe.
If they bring the FA-37 Talon or even the MiG-1.44 in this, will you fly it in these missions? Especially if they involve the Enemy Aces?

It's not great for campaign, but it's an absolute blast in the multiplayer. The speed and energy retention of the F-15C but with the sustained turn rate and PSM of the SU-37, this evening I had it turning inside a Mig 21's circle, it's brilliant. The HPAA/HVAA keep it from being absurdly over powered, if it had SASM or QAAM it would be too much.
Yeah, PSM alone is a massive boon in MP, along with that speed. It's really not my specialty, though - the prospect of going slow enough to PSM is terrifying.

I don't want to be that guy but this isn't the ACTIVE model. The ACTIVE has 3d thrust vectoring like an F-35, while the S/MTD has 2d vectoring like the F-22.

I think the loadout for the mtd could be just as the one from Infinity with minor changes for the air-to-air weapon and ONLY ONE AA sp. Weapon.
They could Either :
*SAAM / HVAA / 4AAM (even HCAA could work here)
*LAGM
*FAEB
They gave us HPAAs and HVAAs. This now means that the only air-to-air missile that’s not available on the F-15 platform is the 8AAMs. I’m fairly happy with this, the Eagles are meant to be air superiority fighters outside of the Strike Eagle. The J already has SAAMs and HCAAs, and the C has 4AAMs. If I were to make a change, I’d swap this things HVAAs for Machine Gun Pods.

Hello. I know this is completely unrelated to the video, but I'm running out of options on the matter and I'd like to ask you about this since you seem to have lots of experience with this game.
Basically, it's a performance issue - The game starts out running really well, solid 100 - 144 fps, but after playing a mission for a bit, the performance starts to chug and tons of microstutters start to happen on top of the framerate dipping. This performance decrease carries over to the hangar and some of the menus. Sometimes, I don't even have to play a mission for this to happen: I just sit on the hangar and the performance will start to decrease, as if it were a water jar being poured. I think it should be noted that this never happened during my first playthrough.
I've tried a clean install, verifying game files, messing with .ini files and Nvidia Control Panel, rolling back and updating drivers, testing tons of graphics configurations... But nothing seems to work.
Anyway, this wall of text has gone on long enough, and I really appreciate anybody taking the time to read it. Thanks a lot!

At the same time, this is a more accurate rendition of the S/MTD (the real-life plane had the Vulcan removed in favor of the canards). This is a research plane, first and foremost.

@@mrandrossguy9871 - you're forgetting that the Raptor from 2000 (the pre-production variant) is different from the one currently in service, right? PA had to keep that into consideration when making the skins as the fighters are constantly modified and upgraded from time to time.
Personally, for the 3 loadouts of the F15S/MTD, i would have: 6AAM, UGB, SAAM.
Given its AC history, I'd go with 6AAM, FAEB, and LAGM. Do wish FAEB was better though...

@@Lt.Foulke They nerfed it due to it being an absolute meme in 6. A good A-10 driver in AC6 Multiplayer could take down opposing fighters with the FAEB. Hell I've seen it done. In campaign the A-10 was my go to for dunking on the Aigaion and Chandelier.
@@WastelandWanderer1216 I wouldn't judge the AC6 FAEB just for the multiplayer memes. I actually think it was well balanced there: trades huge AoE for lower damage, but it's still effective. It's the same idea in 7, but the damage is even lower, the area isn't that big, and worse of all, only one bomb at a time. Where it was truly broken was Zero, where it was flat out better than any other bomb.

Single player-wise, HPAA is okay but there's very few targets that require that level of damage, so it's an overkill weapon with a slow reload. HVAA is pretty much a worse LAAM in my experience. Multiplayer may be a different story, dunno.

About the only part of the description I don't agree with necessarily is the bit about the HVAA, but everything else is on point.
I'm not gonna bother going in depth with these planes because, frankly, they're all extremely basic. The real star of this show isn't even the planes themselves, but the possibility this opens up for DLC in the future. We've now set a precedent over real planes getting post launch DLC; and we've basically confirmed anything bar certain planes from Infinity are fair game now. I'd keep my eye open in the future; we might be getting some more old friends too.

They're really nothing special, I use a PS4 controller. I prefer square for special weapon and triggers for speed, but bog standard otherwise.

I'm gonna have disagree here.
No doubt the F/B-22 would clean up the ground and the sea thanks to the SFFS. People still flock to the F-16XL and F-15S/MTD because of the memories - after quite a while, it's good to see them in the latest game. They even have the Wizard and Sorcerer skins - flying them may ring in Spanish guitars within their hearts.

Flaps have a bigger effect on pitch, which is generally the most important. Really regretted that here, though, as the S/MTD's roll rate is horrible.

Weaker. The Strike Eagle is (surprisingly) one of the most maneuverable aircraft in the game, while this feels just like a C or J, sluggish. Wish we got stats for it, but seems no one extracted them for the newer DLC aircraft.

This might be the only DLC pack I don't buy for the game. I got the others and have stopped playing the game tbh. Well, I stopped playing games in general. However, none of these planes came with unique weapons or brought something new to the table. The FB-22 is basically outdone by the stock F-22. The F-16XL is another falcon. A cooler looking falcon but nothing exceptional. No special effect in the game. And the F-15S/MTD. An Eagle. These planes are all special in terms of looks and not much else. I get that they don't want DLC to power creep the standard content because multiplayer balance is an illusion they want to keep. the ADF line and other signature super planes bully anyone who isn't skilled and flying a MiG-21. If you aren't memeing in mp, you're doing mediocre most likely. But I just hope the funding from AC7 will make for a great AC8. Kono will most likely make a great soundtrack. He's a very skilled man. The graphics are good for the game and if AC8 is on the same engine, it'll likely look a lil better and be a lil more taxing because of XBX and PS5 and better PC parts as usual. Just hope for a better story and plane selection out of the box.
Ngl asking 5 dollars for a single plane and some jpegs is scummy. It's offensive to call this content when there's no new single player content since the last one and multiplayer being completely abandoned.
To be fair, we're talking about a plane that required negotiations with the manufacturer of said item (especially those who also build military hardware), faithful recreation of control surfaces, cockpit, other details, and recreating and updating skins that first appeared in earlier games and earlier game engines - all while we are in the middle of a pandemic by a small team for a game within a niche genre.
