So I had this unit installed prolly over a month ago it's pretty good gotta take it back to my installer for a maestro backup camera issue tommmorrow morning...I was debating on this or the kenwood 958xr. Went with this guy because I hear the chip and dac was top notch. idk..but it sounds good have it on my 2012 sonota limited with nav. Have the kappa hi rez speakers kappa 5 channel and audiocontrol dm608. It replaced the sony 5500 that went in my dad's lil corolla i know he like that unit he's never had bluetooth..
This Sony receiver does have an ESS brand DAC in it. They build some of the best DACs on the market today. We hope the backup camera issue is a quick fix so you can get back to enjoying it and all its abilities
@@crutchfield yea I called maestro and talked to installer I guess it has something to do with the smart parking. So I guess it switches to another camera input maybe when I slowdown at times etc..maybe designed for front camera I guess it has to be turned off disconnected directly from flashing maestro going to take it in today at 10:00a.m.
Nice! Keep us posted on the results. Both the Kenwood and iLX-507 are stellar units, but these Sony ES radios do have the highest-quality DACs available right now for car stereos, I think it was a wise choice!
@@crutchfield sounds amazing I honestly can’t wait to hear how it sounds cuz my factory unit is suuuper flat. But the CarPlay issues were bad.. almost everyday CarPlay would drop out. So I went and updated it… somehow the update made it worse. Now when it did eventually disconnect, it would reconnect, play all of around 5-10 seconds of music the disconnect again. On a Monday morning dealing with traffic on my way to class was unacceptable. Especially for a $5-600 unit. According to Reddit a couple of people have had the same issues 🙃
Just had mine installed on a 06’ 4Runner, looks and works great so far
Excellent! It's great to hear that you are happy with it! 🙂
You guys should totally enter this video into a film festival. You'd absolutely win the shorts category off of production value alone.
Thanks for the kind words! It's great to hear that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Bring it on crutchfield you guys where the first to get this sony xava 9000es not amazon. You guys better get ready for the car stereo wars.
It won't be easy, but we think Bo's got a shot.
Nice. Great video. I'm picking up a C6 tomorrow, this unit is going to go in it. Again, this was an awesome video, well done.
Oh, that will be quite the match!!

@@crutchfield and it was tough deciding from it and the Kenwood 958xr and alpine ilx507

@@crutchfield yes! Lol yes it's clearer and I can notice the quality over the Sony 5500 and the advancement in tech.
Will it fit into standard double din fascia frame?
Yes, it's designed to fit standard double-DIN size applications.
@@crutchfieldthank you!

Just got the email that mine is in shipping. Can’t wait for my 9000es 😎
That is very exciting! What are you installing it in?
@@crutchfield my 20 year old Camry 😂. Hopefully it’s as good as it seems. Trading up from my ax6000 that had some bad CarPlay problems
The sound shaping and DAC chip are a great improvement. What were the Carplay issues?
