Best movie ever, and I say that as a Muslim. This doesn't insult Islam, only terrorism - don't get the two mixed up! and it's vastly superior to other movies/shows about terrorism, like Homeland.
I'm forever grateful to Chris Morris for making this superb masterpiece.

This work of genius isn't a comedy, yes it will give you MANY laughs but the last 10 minutes of this film will leave you feeling so hollow and thoughtful of our world that you will forget every single joke and you will never watch again the same way, the ending is dark as fuck, i have never seen a movie that portrays 'terrorism' as clearly as this.

Very much a misunderstood film. This is one of the most intelligent, well researched, thought provoking and hilarious film ever made. Chris Morris is definitely one of the directors to watch out for, deserves all the accolades, for doing something risky yet educational.
Indeed. And all these years later I still giggle at the thought of some if the scenes, like the collateral damage during the charity run and the discussions of the snipers wether they shot a yogi bear or a wooky. How could they do thet scene with a straight face???

This film is first movie that has made almost piss myself laughing in a long time. This movie is HILARIOUS! My favourite scene is where Waj is in the kebab shop and he's having a conversation with the negotiator, funniest scene in the whole movie XD

+The Veneficus it's real. if you look closely at 1:47, you can see one sheep get caught up in the explosion and its body flying at the top left of the smoke cloud.

+The Veneficus ik. I haven't seen any BTS on this film but you can tell the character running was superimposed behind the last sheep in post-production with the help of that still shot

Great film. I don't know what the writers and directors got from it, but I had it picked as a film about guys that are gullible and trying to do what they think they're supposed to do. Funny, sad, tragic. Worth a watch for sure.

I watched this in 2010. I missed 90% of the humour at the time. It works on 20 different levels all the time.its amazing.

One of my all time favourite movies. Funny as hell, but the humor is very subtle. It might not be for everyone.
A very similar movie with the exact same type of humor and similar premise in fact, is the Australian movie "Down Under". Highly recommended.

I just watched this yesterday, and I have to admit that I can't recall a time when I took the characters in a satirical film so seriously. It does have its hilarious moments, certainly, but I found it to really be a tragic film as well.
I just rewatched it after 10 years, and I remembered it as hilarious with a heart...on rewatch I found it much more tragic as a whole. It has it's funny moments, but the thing as a whole is so utterly tragic and dark and real.

This film is the definition of satire. It is so funny thought out but is filled with so much heart. Can't recommend it enough.

we watched it in a local film festival 2 days ago and have been quoting it all the time since then (this is a muslim country) and laughing more than ever..great film, very very funny, yet not only funny..it has its message in it too I think...

I remember finding a DVD of this at a friend's house. We had no idea what it was and the box didn't have a description, so decided to watch it anyway and fuuuuck am I happy we did and we went in blind.

I remember watching this but the thing that shocked me was yes it has funny bits but overall it’s quite serious. It did not go in the direction I was expecting.
This is probably the best film trailer ever made. It shows some excellent snips, moves along briskly, and gets me hype af to see the film. Great movie.

I'm from Germany and we watched this in school in English class in 2011. This would never ever be played in school nowadays.
It truely was a different time. It is scary how extremely the society was transformed within only 10 years.

Barry was a total asshole; he was so selfishly concerned with becoming a martyr, that he let his friends die, just so his plan wouldn't be foiled, even when they told him that he didn't want to do it

I’ve watched this like around 10 times now but I remember seeing this trailer back when it first released and then watching the movie around those times too. What makes this even more legendary is the fact that you know this movie would never be made today. I’ve noticed now that this movie hits different every time I watch it, in that it just seems darker and darker each time.
It's been out for about 2 years now, man. Go rent a copy now it's a fantastic laugh.
