in this game, with the way vis range is, checking sides and your 6 has to be done more offten then in Il-2 1946 or clod, that was biggest change i had to adjust coming from thouse games.
Also i notice many players fly strait line to long, every 10-15s direction should be changed, vis ranges are just rediculisly short that you just cant be sure there was nothing behined you 10s ago.

Much more informative than all the "ace in a flight" videos you see everywhere.

Good advice! The other day There was a high flyer in a BF-109 just booming and zooming and I got up to his flight level in a Spit MkIX and I ended up in an advantageous position but he dove and tried to drag me to his base, the moment I chased him down, I was finished because one of his mates had the height advantage and shot me up! Lessons learned!

It's hard to do because we never actually get a "kill" for it, but sometimes forcing the guy to leave is a win too. I've been guilty of chasing people down to the ground occassionally...with a bad result sometimes lol

This is how I spent an hour long sortie today. Word for word. Only difference is that it was two squads of 5-6 vs each other, everyone on comms. I’d get cleared by a teammate only to have him get sixed by our enemy’s higher friend. Repeat. What a gnarly gunfight that turned out to be.

    Wonderful!
Be it actually war or just Videogames you always look at how everybody is wining.
This Video shows how frustrating it can be to randomly die because you were unaware, he takes that frustration and calmly explains when and why it happens, what to do or what to do or learn from it and what and how to counter it.

Thanks Aspielm, that's the best benefit of a sim, we get to learn from the mistakes we make that cause us to "die" so we can try and do better next time!

I remember watching your video back then when I didn’t even own a flight stick.
I’ve extensively played IL-2 since Late September and it seems I’m getting better at it, but all the mistake which were to expect from a newbie like me still came even though I watched 80% of your videos twice on different device. Just goes to show it’s a lot of practice.
