I've done a completely enclosed yard and predator proofed it from ground and air...I DON'T have a dog and not getting one for the chickens, so this works best for me...I wont be moving their yard so built in grazing boxes with wire over to grow Wheat and Rye grasses so they get greens but don't destroy the plants...I REALLY like your pole roosts, THAT is what I've been looking for...what size did you say they were around?

I'm 80 years now only have 5 chickens. I've had as many as 10. Love the corn and barley mix idea. I can get the corn but don't know where to get big bags of barley. Is it expensive?
Its not a good idea I have to watch him all the time but he is still a puppy I hope as he gets older and more familiar with the chickens he will become there protector

I get mine from a local farmer but I think you can get it from the feed store Southern States

What about you dog getting over the fence? Our dog will kill the chickens, I believe he would jump over the fence and kill all our chickens.
I guess I just got lucky with my dog but sometimes he plays rough with my chickens
