"To the Senate and People of Rome,
I, Decimus Galeo of the House of Julia, have taken the jewel that is Carthage for the Senate and People of Rome. Today is a great day! No longer will we be constrained by the whims and vicissitudes of petty merchants from across "Our Sea". Now Rome owns the breadbasket of Africa and, so, the World!
Carthage made a grievous error overextending her forces on land and sea; leaving the city largely unprotected with a medium sized force lead by a General Agbor and the local garrison. As we had no siege works other than ladders, we still had a bit of a fight to get through. I was able to rely on assistance from our naval forces blockading the harbor and coming ashore to lend assistance by getting behind the closed city gates.
We won with minimal damage caused to the city itself. This place it wonderfully beautiful. It is truly a jewel, and I take pride in my part to make it part of the Empire. SPQR Unum!
