No. Couple of hundred thumbs up and only 13.6K views. No. This was the most educational 26 minutes in UA-cam history. You just learned how to carve really well people! Grasp what is happening here!
Thank you Phil, you are a true teacher. Those of us that absorb you knowledge will be better as woodworkers.

Mr. Lowe, I teach basic woodworking and consider myself a beginner compared to you even though I've been woodworking for 30 years. Your teaching skills are absolutely the best I've seen if I had the means to travel from the west coast to study with you It would be a dream come true, unfortunately I don't have the means and I feel that now that I'm in my 70s even if I had the means I have taught myself way to many incorrect approaches and bad techniques. I have read many of your articles in Fine Woodworking for years and truly do appreciate that you take the time to share your amazing skills with others. Thank you for this series of outstanding Videos I feel privileged to have the opportunity to have viewed all of them. I strongly recommend those who have the means and opportunity to study with you to grab it and learn from this wonderful master, I once read a survey in fine Woodworking where all of the other very excellent woodworkers and contributors to Fine Woodworking were to vote for which Contributor to the magazine was best woodworker and Phile Lowe was selected best all-around woodworker/artisan by unanimous vote.

What a great series, thank you! I'm thinking it's a lot harder than it looks. Love the 'box of straws' analogy and the emphasis/history on the different tools.

Is Mr. Lowe using a double sided bevel chisel in his work? Is there an advantage in using this type of grind over a single bevel chisel?

Hi Phil, when you use the term rabbits are meaning Rebate?

(Edit: found it in episode 2! I skipped through that part for some reason, don't know why... ua-cam.com/video/O0BzReseHwU/v-deo.html )
It would be very, very interesting to see Phil's sharpening routine, especially for plane blades, but also for chisels of different kinds. It's such an extremely important thing in woodworking, but often overlooked. Even though there are many informative videos on the subject, I'm absolutely positive there are things to learn from Phil.

Are there bevels on both sides of the chisel?
