As a 12-year-old desperately searching for any and all KH stuff I could get my hands on, I used to pull this up on the browser version in my free time even though I couldn’t read anything or do anything in the game but walk around the menu.
wouldn't it be great if these big companies just made their older stuff accessible? like, they're not making money off of it anyway. But instead, fans need to go through hell and back to uncover these. They don't even need to make the stuff playable, just accessible so fans can have something to work off of.
It's kind of a hassle to get the emulator up and running, I'll admit. Here's what I ended up doing: - First, download everything from the top of the Keitai Wiki's guide: docs.google.com/document/d/1qTufcBeA2bWT3TNdza4kUbrqkr7O4MPk8LOPYQCqOpg/edit . This includes the emulator (DoJa 5.1 SDK), the Locale Emulator (to run it in Japanese), and the Oracle Java Development Kit. - Follow the installation guide up until "Installing games to play". - Once the emulator is functioning, download the KH Mobile mini-game files. This can be found in the Keitai Wiki's discord resources (under "Preserved commercial/preloaded i-mode games"). Each game should have three files: a .jar, .jam, and .sp. - Find the emulator's project path for game files (by default, "C:\iDKDoJa5.1\apps"). Inside, create a folder with the exact name of the game file (e.g. "khballoonglider"). - Inside that new folder, create two more folders named "bin" and "sp". Put the .jar and .jam files in the "bin" folder and put the .sp file in the "sp" folder. - Launch the DoJa 5.1 SDK emulator (as always, right click and "Run in Japanese" with Locale Emulator) and click "Open Project". You should see the names of the downloaded games and be able to play them with the "Run" button. Some of the lovey folks over at the Keitai Wiki are working on developing a more elegant solution, but this emulator is the only way to play these kind of games for the foreseeable future. If you have any trouble with getting things to work, chances are they'll be able to help you over at their discord
