      The solid rear rotors are very heavy at 23lbs. each. The aftermarket offers lighter two-piece versions.

    Huge Help!!! This helped me track down parts MUCH cheaper than from Summit or the stealership. For anybody looking for the GM OEM Part #'s for the 5th Gen (mine is a 2013) ZL1 here are the OEM part #'s I was able to track down and search them via Amazon, eBay, etc. to find the lowest price.

    Rotor - Front-Right - 177-1146

    Good video. I had my rotors turned within GM spec. $80 USD all 4 rotors.

    Do these rotors and pads fit a ZL1 that isn’t a 1LE? I just would like to double check check this because they have different wheel sizes between the ZL1 & the ZL1 1LE . Much thanks to these very well made videos . They are done extremely well and edited incredibly.

    Great video, really helped me change the brakes on my 18 after a trackday. I would just offer that there is no reason to remove the 13mm bridge bolt if you're changing rotors. Also the rotors don't warp, they get deposits from the pads. Both on my C5 Z06 and on my GTI I've been able to "fix" warped rotors by installing more aggressive pads that cleaned the deposits off the rotors.

      @@Fbody_123 I've had good luck with carbotech on my Z06 and firebird. I swapped to DS2500 on my ZL1 but haven't tracked it with them yet.

    Interesting you went from slotted to blanks. I tend to stick to brembo zimmermann or trw blanks. Was tempted to go drilled and slotted but prone to cracking concerns I just didn't want to keep replacing so soon.

    Be carful everyone, the ZL1 1LE has different sizes for copper free vs copper. The copper free are bigger and required in California but many will order the copper free to get the bigger setup.

    • @joshualewis393
      @joshualewis393 2 роки тому

      Not true. ZL1 and the 1LE option have the exact same brake setup. When you select the copper free option (which is available for both ZL1 and 1LE option), that's when the rotors and pads are different. So you have to know if you car had the copper free option from the factory no matter if you have a ZL1 or ZL1 1LE. Thanks California and Washington.
      They are bigger rotors (390mm vs 398mm) and pads are shaped different.

      Yes, sometimes I do, the SS 1LE was the perfect all around package for daily driving, commuting, & track use. With the ZL1 1LE it only now comes out on specific occasions such as mountain drives & track days. I still primarily recommend everyone that wants 1 car that does it all towards the SS 1LE
