It seems Hollywood everyman Dick Richards knows no bounds. This time, we find Dick back at Universal Studios in the 90s on the heels of the massive success of Jurassic Park, and the beginnings of a movie franchise behemoth.

Why There Are So Many Jurassic Park Sequels
Before Jurassic World and a time riddled with movie sequels and multi-platform cinematic universe commercial conglomerates, there was just the Jurassic Park movie, and the.. idea of a sequel. That pivotal moment when Jurassic Park went from one awesomely original spectacular movie, into another cinematic blockbuster franchise. Except, unlike other story rich movie franchises, like Marvel or Star Wars, with plenty of material to explore through sequels or a movie trilogy, Jurassic Park just really didn't have much more of a reason to make a sequel other than to sell exclusive dinosaur toys. But, dollar signs are dollar signed, and Dick Richards knows a golden dinosaur-sized goose egg when he sees one, so thus spawned Jurassic Park: The Lost World.

I'm mostly impressed with how they managed to write him perfectly in character as Dr. Ian Malcolm without relying on just directly quoting the material (outside of when it would actually be relevant to do so)

I have a theory for why Dick Richards never ages. He feeds off of the success of the movies and the failing of his competitors
Maybe hes the god of financial success of Entertainment. Think about it, Movies came from theatre, and theater is as old as Greece and people need to pay. Maybe his original name was Biggus Dikkus.

Oof. That bit about franchises bringing a feeling of safety wasn't wrong. Knowing that there was an MCU movie I could watch after mopping up my spring exams these last few years helped to keep me going. Even the BBC Radio 1 interviews with the cast members helped to ease things a little
Hey, here's an idea. Since the second movie's message was "poaching bad," what if they did it from the dinosaurs' perspective. Like, make a movie about a velociraptor living its life until some humans barge in and kill/capture its mates. So, then he gets pissed off and goes John Wick on them, but dinosaur style:)) Would've been cooler, I think

I swear, Jurassic Park is the one franchise that unfairly gets too much hate. Why is this franchise demonized, but yet Fast & Furious gets a pass?
I mean the original deal was that Universal was going to make five sequels... but last three movies were put on hold due to the third one’s box office disappointment, causing Jurassic World to be a soft reboot. And besides those movies are still badass.
Edit: well this aged like piss! Jurassic world dominion SUCKED!!! But the toys are awesome.
I think there are a couple of reasons for this. First of all, the F&F francise gets plenty of critisism, but the main reason that people are okay with it is because aparently they get better as they go along and are intrensically silly films with an open premis. Jurassic park on the other hand has a specific concept, and the first film was a masterpiece. every film after it isn't as good as the first. With a concept that doesn't scream sequel bait and the simple fact that all of the others are different levels of mediocre, from the top of that of good but not great, to the bottom of it of being pretty much bad.
Ian malcoms lines were nothing but nostalgia for me. everytime he spoke i was excited for the references! The safety of Jurassic park is everything compared to the non-safety of star wars.
"Iron Man who?" What people forget is pre-2008 when Marvel announced an Iron Man movie, a Captain America movie, etc... I think it was the LA Times ran a headline like "Marvel rolls out the B-team". Fox bought the X-Men, Sony bought Spider-Man. No movie studio saw value in any Avenger to buy their movie rights... except for the Hulk by Universal. Now today you wouldn't think that. But pre-MCU, when it came to Marvel and movies, it was all X-Men and Spider-Man...they were the face of Marvel. Iron Man was a B level character. Now he's the face of Marvel. No one knew who Rocket Racoon was before the movie except for a handful of comic book readers. But now, more people recognize that smart ass trash panda than they do Marvel characters that have been around since the 60s.

About chaos theory. Sometime I do not know what to expect from The warp zone. Ranges from light comical relief to incredibly Ironic and deep. I like it.
Beacause steven spelberg bought the rights for 6 movies while making the first. It was always meant to be a franchise. Also i like the sequels.
