Thank you.
Here and for the next 2 years, this band was untouchable. I miss these days, a lot. I know they've put out plenty of stuff since and I'm sure some of it is great but...there was something about these songs at this point in time that really resonated with me.
Same here.
I like the two guitars too, so Ben can focus on just singing!
@@theAxehound yup there you are again
I came here to find “stupid over you” after my wife decided to abandon me. She hates SW, but, in my mind, it was always my song to her. SW is a special band. I want them played at my funeral.
This was about three years before the first time I heard Screeching Weasel. It was late, and the local "alternative" radio station was airing a long-form interview with Green Day, who I was a fan of (what 12 year old wasn't in 1995?). It was right as Insomniac was coming out, and I was taping the whole thing. Probably about halfway through, Green Day talked a little bit about the Riverdales and played "Back to You". I had to flip the tape in the middle of the song and keep recording. Maybe twenty minutes later, they started talking about Screeching Weasel (but strangely no mention of Mike having been in the band) and then played "If I was you". I must have listened to that song a thousand times before I managed to come across a record store in suburban Pittsburgh that carried Screeching Weasel. I bought "Kill the Musicians" "Boogadaboogadaboogada" and my personal favorite "My Brain Hurts", as they were the only CDs they had in stock. I officially had a new favorite band, and my Green Day, Offspring and Weezer CD's started to collect dust.
Throughout the years, my collection expanded, and it became the soundtrack to my high school days and far beyond. Sad to say I never got to see this lineup (or any lineup with Jughead, Panic, and Vapid) live. By the time I had enough freedom to sneak out and go to shows in 1997 or so, the band didn't seem to be doing much touring.
I did get to see Ben and his band play in 2016, and that was cool, but I feel like I was too young to experience the glory days.
Jug, thanks for putting this (and the long-form talks about each record, which I love) out! And of course, thank you for the music.
I love to hear these stories, thanks very much for writing and for being a fan.
I think I heard that radio broadcast. Modern Rock Live? Came on Sunday night? I heard about a lot of "new" bands on that show back in the day.
@@swampdonkey4919 Pretty sure that was it.
@@swampdonkey4919 I remember rancid was on it and trying to figure out what country Tim was from. I couldn't understand his mumbling for the life of me.
@@mazdis9724 what country tim was from haha
What a performance. You guys sounded incredible.
John jugheads energy is fucking str8 up!!!
Wow that was a prime performance. From what I’ve seen this was the band best ever live era
Love this band for ages these guys and the vindictives are the best bands on lookout and they both are in each outher s songs been collecting there vinyl for decades now still got a few to go but there first few definitely are the best so this is FN awesome thanks for posting and sharing this peace and love lloydy

Are you cute
Thanks so much for posting this. My buddy and I are in the front row the whole time. We drive up from Raleigh to see this in my junior year of high school. One of my favorite shows ever.
That’s cool! Thanks for watching.
Without Jughead it’s not screeching weasel anymore
Love this so much!
Wolf face rule buddy! Boof ain’t too loose! Take it easy lover
I'm enjoying every second of this show. You guys sounded incredible.
Ben's wease at the end. A gift to everyone.
Wow. Thank you for this gem!!!
Thanks so much for uploading this stuff, SW is one of the bands that made me fall in love with punk but with a lot of punk bands it’s hard to find this sort of thing. I find the stories and footage you share from your time in the band so cool, especially as a 17 year old who has never grown up with any good new music. My Brain Hurts might even be my favourite album ever!
Fucking love it...thanx 4 sharing
Great set! Thank you for sharing John!! It is a joy seeing you rock out and play your incredible riffs that gave SW its signature sound. It's crazy, it wasn't but four or five days ago I was taking a long AF shower just singing a random repertoire of SW. It kicked off with I Wanna Be Naked for obvious reasons.
By happenstance MBH dominated my set list though, then Boogada and two from Wiggle. Great video! Really tugs on my heart strings to see and hear my favorites played live.
Dude, the Milestone is legendary. Been there recently.
Ha! I was at that show! Good times!
ME TOO!
You the man John! Thanks for posting this!
Peak. Thanks for sharing man. Let's get that Gilman show happening again!
Brilliant man thank you
Awesome.
Soooooooo good. Thanks for sharing!
Fuckin Awesome! Thanks for putting this up!
Nice!
This is awesome! Very cool.
Great vidddy, your shredding as usual
Hi John, I was wondering what guitar amps you guys were using back then. This sounds right off My Brain Hurts.
I can't speak for Vapid, but I was probably still using the amp I made from a DJ amp and speaker and a tiny peavy decade. I didn't get my Marshal JCM until Bark Like A Dog.
@@JohnJughead dang this is so awesome. Thanks for all the incredible guitar solos. They are heartbreaking in the most amazing way...
Now thats a beautiful line up!! Good god I miss the good old days...this getting old shit sucks!! Please don't get me for copie right for using this avatar...I use it everywhere. Its free advertising 🙌 👏 👌 😄
33:22~ I love it!
traceys livin in a dream world.
He's Ben Weasel he's so cool
Did you guys ever play First Day of Autumn live? That song makes me feel like a kid again.
wooooh Stupid Over You, not enough footage them doing that song!
Quick question who is Gub Scott Conway?? On the "My Brain hurts" record Johnny Personality was 2nd guitar. I heard he only did one tour with the band. One last thing, how many shows overall did Weasel do as a 5 piece?? From what I remember those lineups were not around long. When I saw Weasel in Boston W/The Queers it was the classic Ben/Jughead/Vapid?Panic lineup. Thanks for this upload, this era of Weasel brings back great memories.
Scott Gub Conway was the touring bassist/roadie for their early 1992 tour. After the tour Gub left the band and they got Johnny Personality to play bass on the Wiggle album. Johnny didn't appear at all on My Brain Hurts.
OOOOOOOO
I haven't been to the milestone since 2014, I wonder if it's still there.
めっちゃかっこええやん〜
who sang dingbat?
Johnny Puke
Is that Dave Naked on bass??
No. That’s Gub Conway. He was the touring bass player for John Personality
@@JohnJughead Hey I wanna get a copy of "Weasels in a box" + would like to know best place to order where you will see the most profit?
