    Saw a video of a Yemenite Jew, a Samarian Jew, and modern Jew speak their dialects reading scriptures was amazing. The ו pronounced by Yemenite was with a "W" sound. Interesting.

    Interesting Observation - Given the Masoretes objective was to hide the name of Hashem so that it would not be inadvertently mentioned ( "kri-u-khtiv" (כְּתִיב וְקָרֵי) ). I would estimate that the Vowel sounds are inserted to disguise and not to reveal the name, else all they would be doing is to reveal what they are trying to "hide". My view, is when you sit with two, three or more "spellings" and pronounciation - Jehovah - Jehovih etc. If the intention is to remove doubt about pronounciation, I would assume that one set of vowels would make sense. All it leaves us with is more doubt. Should we take the one that occurs the most? what makes it more special than the other?
    My observation is that by omission ( them leaving out other spellings which they hiding ) they are more likely revealing the thing they trying to hide. The ONLY vowels not used in any of the masoretes 6828 occurences are the letters "a" and "e" in the following positions - Y "a" H and W "e" H all other permutations are expressed. So if you want to hide something, you don't show it. I just use the law of deduction and exclusion to show that , if they were hiding "a" and "e" this would be plausible, why else exclude only them.
    Anyhow that's my take.

    The scribe created a system of marginal reference to pronounce a word differently from how it is written. The most High name is vowel pointed to pronounce Adoni so as not desecrate the sacred name. However when the literal word adoni comes directly before the YHWH name it is vowel pointed to be pronounced Elohim and so the GOD as opposed to LORD

    Did you know they found the oldest recorded archeological find of His Name in Hebrew and it only contains YHV... I found that fascinating since in a previous video you posted you mentioned that the name has both male and female endings and that you've not seen that before in other words or rules of the language... I'll put a link in my own comment. Shalom Moses and thanks for this.

      Yes I did watch that video. The word YHV (or YHW) is fascinating because not only is it found in the Bible (Yeho-shua, Yeho-ram, Yesha-Yahu, Yirmi-Yahu), but it allows us to explore other explanations of the Divine Name besides it's grammatical derivation from the verb "havah" (HVH), such as the masc and fem pronomial suffixes I mentioned in the other video. I will try and cover this subject in detail one of the upcoming videos in this series. Thanks for reminding. Shalom.

    Comment only, your introduced YHWH with nikud is wrong , you can pronounce YHWH without nikud( Jewish writng style). God said in Mathew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you( Israel) and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. It mean when messiah is born , the kingdom of god is in jerusalem but when Messiah ascending to heaven , god holy creator transfer the kingdom of god to the country have a fruitfull and righteousness. The kingdom of god transfer to the three kings or magi from the orient,...............another hint of god. The YHWH is pronounce without nikud the same in tetragrammaton hebrew without nikud............

    I simply think that the tradition itself requires that the name has to be written according to its letters , according to its punctuation , according to its proper pronounciation but read differently
    based on the context of Pesachim 50a.
    "This world is not like the world to
    come. In this world the name is written YHVH and read ADONAY but in theworld to come it will be one,
    written YHVH and read YHVH ."
    Talmud, Pesachim 5Oa
    √The term " WRITTEN YHVH " simply means" written according to its letters , according to its proper ponctuation , according to its proper pronounciation ".
    If they really put the vowels of Adonay , it's not really necessary to mention that" the name is written YUD- HE" which can only mean that the name is written according to its letters , according to its proper pronounciation ,though read differently .
    With vowels of Adonay inserted in the name , the name isn't written YUD- HE at all .
    However , in the world to come , the name is written according to its letters , according to its punctuation , according to its pronounciation and also read according to its letters , according to its proper pronounciation i.e " WRITTEN YHVH AND READ YHVH".
    Only in this world it is written according to its letters , according to its punctuation, according to its proper pronounciation and read ADONAY .
    So when you read the name ADONAY the name is written according to its proper pronounciation i.e written YUD- HE.
    Bear in mind that the name is already there according to its exact pronunciation however,read ADONAY.
    It's only it is read Adonay ( Èlohim isn't mentioned) that the name is written according to its letters , according to its punctuation , according to its proper pronounciation.
    " This world is not like the world to
    come. In this world the name is written Yehovah and read ADONAY but in the world to come it will be one,written Yehovah and read Yehovah."
    If Yehovah is read Adonay then Yehovah is the name that is written YUD- HE i.e according to its letters , according to its proper pronounciation, according to its punctuation.
    Now we can understand why the Rabbis always say " Don't read the name the way it is written (i.e written YUD- HE = Yehovah) , read Adonay !"
    Not reading the name the way it is written refers to " YHVH with the vowels : shva cholam kamatz."

    • @TheHebrewBible
      @TheHebrewBible  Рік тому

      A major objection to the vowels of Adonai theory is the absence of cholam in most cases. In some Aramaic versions and Siddurs, the Divine Name is rendered with two yods, with sheva and kamatz, no cholam. So I take all 4 pronunciations as valid.

    • @nashashbel6922
      @nashashbel6922 Рік тому

      @@TheHebrewBible the name has to behave as if it carries the letters and vowels of Adonay to reflect the tradition of reading it Adônay however it doesn't literally carry the vowels neither the letters of Adonay.
      When it goes :" the name is written YHVH " that means the name is written according to its pronounciation .
      " Written YHVH read YHVH " = written according to its letters / pronounciation and read according to its letters / Pronounciation.
      However When it goes
      " Written YHVH and read ADONAY" = written according to its letters /pronounciation but read Adonay.
      When you read the name Adonay , we have the name written according to its pronounciation , carrying its authentic vowels.
      The entire context of Pesachim 50 a is all about the name written according to its proper pronounciation ,both in this world and in the world to come.
      The only difference is :
      The name is written according to its proper punctuation :
      - in this world ,read Adonay
      - in the world to come ,read according to its proper pronounciation.
      "Yehowah " is read Adonay in this world .
      In the world to come it will b read Yehowah .
      When the Rabbis say " don't read the name the way it is written ,read Adonay " ,they are referring to YEHÔVAH as the name that is not allowed to be read the way it is written

    Since we say hallelujah, the Yahweh makes more sense in Rabbinical Hebrew. I don’t like the eighth century texts. Biblical Hebrew from Moses’s time is the old rabbinical Hebrew. This dates back to the first second and third centuries.

    Brother if Yehvih ,Yehovih , Yehôvah are all valid pronounciation then I kinda think that it's all relating to the 10 sefirot which are considered as the revealed aspect of Gd according to some kabbalists.
    The Rabbis are contradicting each other on the Sefirot.
    There is a group that consider that the sefirot are not Gd , don't contain any essence of the Almighty and that we don't pray to them.
    In contrast, there is also a group who believe that the sefirot are just the revealed aspect of God.
    The hidden aspect is the Ein Sof and the revealed aspect is the 10 sefirot that according to.some ,are the object of our prayer.
    According to some Rabbis the sefirot is the revealed Gd in our Bible where the Ein Sof is the hidden part , unaccessible.
    However the Ein Sof reveals himself to us through the sefirot considered as his revealed aspect .
    www.myjewishlearning.com/article/the-kabbalistic-conception-of-god/
    Looks like it is all relating to the concept of fragmentation of a deity that is well laid out by Benjamin Sommer in his book ' the bodies of Gd and the world of ancient Israel."
    One Deity can have multiple incarnations , manifestations, fragments,..
    Each fragment is associated with one Deity ( sefirah) that is Gd himself at the same time distinct and separated from him.
    It seems like the 10 sefirot are just fragments of the Ein Sof .
    Each sefirah is a deity and probably carries the name ,' Yehvih ,yehovih , Yèhvih ,..."

    • @TheHebrewBible
      @TheHebrewBible  Рік тому

      I read Sommer's book, and I agree with the fluidity model. I have also been thinking on similar terms. The phrase "no man cometh unto the Father but by me (Son)" in John 14:6 is basically saying that starting from Malkhut, one can't reach Keter without passing through Tiferet. I counted the total number of possible paths from Keter to Malkhut, and they are 64, out of which only 52 pass through Tiferet. Various manifestation may not only be the Sefirot, but also all 10 Sefirot in various ways of connections between them.

      This reminds me of a passage in the Zohar .
      The SEFIROT are also called "gates" "doors" , "degrees" through which we approach God in order to be conformed to his image and grow in intimacy with him .
      The sefirot are used as a means provided by God himself , for finite man understand the infinite being.
      The following section of the Zohar, gives additional insight into probably the Sephirah of Yesod (known as Shaddai), being the door that leads to the other Supernal doors.
      Soncino Zohar, Bereshith, Section 1, Page 103a :
      ‘The "gates" mentioned in this passage (Prov. 31:23) are the same as the gates in the passage, "Lift up your heads, O ye gates" (Ps. XXIV, 7), and refer to the supernal grades by and through which alone a knowledge of the Almighty is possible to man, and but for which man could not commune with God. Similarly, man's soul cannot be known directly, save through the members of the body, which are the grades forming the instruments of the soul.The soul is thus known and unknown.
      So it is with the Holy One, blessed be He, since He is the Soul of souls, the Spirit of spirits, covered and veiled from anyone;
      Nevertheless, through those gates, which are doors for the soul, the Holy One makes Himself known.
      For there is door within door, grade behind grade, through which the glory of the Holy One is made known.
      Hence here "THE TENT DOOR" IS THE DOOR OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, referred to in the words, "Open to me the gates of righteousness" (Ps. CXVIII, 19), and this is THE FIRST ENTRANCE DOOR: through this door a view is opened to all the other supernal doors.
      He who succeeds in entering this door is privileged to know both it and all the other doors, since they all repose on this one.
      AT THE PRESENT TIME THIS DOOR REMAINS UNKNOWN BECAUSE ISRAEL IS IN EXILE; and therefore all the other doors are removed from them, so that they cannot know or commune; but when Israel return from exile, all the supernal grades are destined to rest harmoniously upon this one.
      Then men will obtain a knowledge of the precious supernal wisdom of which hitherto they wist not, as it is written, "And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" (Is. XI, 2).
      ALL THESE ARE DESTINED TO REST ON THIS LOWER DOOR WHICH IS THE "TENT DOOR";
      ALL TOO WILL REST UPON THE MESSIAH in order that he may judge the world, as it is written, "But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, etc." . Thus when the good tidings were brought to Abraham, it was that grade which brought them, as we have deduced from the fact that the word vayomer (and he said) is used without a specific subject in the passage "And he said, I will certainly return unto thee when the season cometh round."
      I kinda think that in one word or to sum it up the 10 SEFIROT is the Messiah = Metatron, through him the infinite being reveals himself.
      The Messiah is the emanation of the EIN SOF both have the same essence same substance however separated and distinct from the Ein Sof ,acts independently .
      The invisible becomes visible through the Messiah who is God and distinct and separated from him.
      This is exactly what Sommer exposed in his book .
      Gd has multiple bodies , incarnations, fragments,emanations,...
      Who are himself and also separated from him.
      Gd reveals to us through his emanations which are himself.
      Yeah The shechinah sends shechinah, Gd sends Gd,...

      Yup I have seen the video speaking of Gd dwelling in the bush ,He who becomes what he desires to become.
      He is not a man but he can be a man .
      He is not an Angel but he can be an Angel
      He is omnipresent but he can also dwell in multiple objects just like wood, stones , pillar ,...
      He can become our savior , protector , punisher ,teacher , anything he desires to become.
      He is simply was ( Hayah)
      He is simply is ( Hôwèh)
      He is simply will be ( Yihyèh), he is "Y'hôwoh ".
      That also reminds me of Jacob changing the name of a place that was once called " Luz " to " Bethel" ( house of God).
      Bethel is called bethel not because of the place rather because of the stone that Jacob has anointed as if he had changed it so as to become a place where Gd resides.
      Gen 28:22
      "And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”
