    One of the best tutorials of all time!
    You save many people working time and learning time.
    One note @20:45 : I think Kelvin to Celsius is -273.15 (Instead of -272.15)
    Thank you for a great video. Keep it up!

      Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback its motivate me lots. You are right its -273.15 that's may I make mistake. Many thanks for correction.

    Hello, thanks for the tutorial. I guess that T you got is the "Top of the atmosphere Brightness Temperature" and not the real surface temperature. You should now apply one of the many algorithms proposed in the literature to retrieve the LST from the TOA atmosphere temperature.

      You are right as this video is mainly cover the understanding on Landsat 9 so I just calculate brightness temperature. Very soon come with the details of LST calculation process.

    So for the final LST calculation, you have used collection 2 level 1 data right and not C2L2 data? Also is there any requirement of atmospheric correction on Level 1 data?

    Is there any tutorial for, Landsat-5, Landsat-7, Landsat-8 Collection 2 Level 2.
    For LST calculation?

    Sounds great ! Can you do a tutorial for QGIS also ? That would be great.

    Should we clip the study area in the beginning?

    • @spaceremotesensingandgis5626
      @spaceremotesensingandgis5626  2 роки тому

      Its better to clip but you should clip some extra area not exactly with boundary. Once you finished all the analysis then only you can cut exactly with boundary.

    Sir, Is the process the same for collection 2 Level 2 data? Because I am getting very high values when I use this method.

      Yes processing of level 2 data is different

      To calculate Land Surface Temperature (LST) from Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level-2 data, you can follow the steps below:
      Access the Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level-2 data from the USGS Earth Explorer or Landsat Explorer website.
      Select the data product you want to use, such as Landsat Surface Reflectance Tier 1.
      Download the data for the desired scene and time period.
      Open the downloaded data in a remote sensing software such as ENVI or QGIS.
      Use the following formula to calculate LST:
      LST = K2 / ln((K1 / Radiance) + 1)
      where K1 and K2 are constants specific to the Landsat 8 thermal band, and Radiance is the thermal radiance value from the Landsat 8 band 10.
      The values of K1 and K2 for Landsat 8 band 10 are as follows:
      K1 = 774.8853
      K2 = 1321.0789
      Apply the formula to each pixel in the thermal band to generate a LST image.
      Note that the LST calculation assumes a number of conditions are met, such as a homogeneous surface and clear sky conditions. It is also recommended to apply atmospheric correction before calculating LST to account for the effect of the atmosphere on the thermal radiance values.

      @@spaceremotesensingandgis5626 hi, in this case do you calculate the radiance the same way? (RadianceB10= 0.00038*"B10TIF1.tif"+0.1)

  • @JosephBondinoba

    I followed the process but when I composite the bands it came as follows
    Red band-1
    Green band-1
    Blue band -1
    And when I expand it still comes the same way showing all the seven bands
