Masahiro Sekita setting Team Japan. Team Japan including Yuki Ishikawa, Yuji Nishida, Masahiro Yanagida and others playing in 2019. 藤井 直伸 関田誠大 #volleyball #setter #japan
just noticed something, the reason you cant read sekita's form is because he places his a little bit more behind his hairline than most setters. Meaning he doesn't need to flick much for a back set, though how he front sets this cleanly is beyond me at the moment, especially high balls!!! His pipe and quick is also more discrete since he can see under his hands.
The clean front sets is by him placing the ball more to his forehead rather than the behind hairline. There is a slight chance that you can read his sets but judging by the speeds it would be impossible to predict his sets
@@azriazhar6288 It's possible. But extremely hard. He tends to set to the outside the most so when in doubt block the outside. However, if the outside gets blocked. He'll send it to the opposite because there's only one blocker there. Also, if you wait till the last second he'll reveal where he's going to set the ball. It's just really hard to react to since his sets are so fast. The middle blocker seemed to be just barely able to react. It's impossible to always be right and you'll have to give up some points but he can be predicted.
sekita is amazing, my favorite setter, absolutely perfect sets almost all of the time, and his technique is very minimalistic, no movement whatsoever 80% all from the wrist, absolutely incredible
Conocí a Sekita recién en 2021, para mi uno de los mejores colocadoress, ahora está jugando en polonia, ya quiero verlo jugar denuevo con el equipo japonés ❤🇦🇷

His form is so clean, the only thing “predictable” trait he has is when he goes for a D/ backset his legs tuck in
Maybe he can't pull off crazy sets like Bruno or Marouf, but the guy is surprisingly tricky and hard to read.
