Hi everyone this feature will work on every samsung smartphone..One thing you need to remember that it will only works when your phone is in lockscreen,not in homescreen.
Works with PIN on my S24U. Maybe some of those who say it doesn't work are testing it while their phone is unlocked, or maybe there are constraints imposed by certain carriers or regions.
Hi, Salian. You don't need to change the screen lock mode from PIN to password because that feature works with both. The important thing is to enable network and security lock to prevent the phone from being turned off or turn off wireless connections.
It works for pin as well. Not just password. All I did was go to the setting and it was enabled.. so I turned if off and then on again. Works just fine for pin now too. Thanks for showing where it was though!
People who are saying its not working, try these steps 1. enable the screen lock with Pin with minimum 8 digit 2. do all the things on AOD as mentioned in the video 3. while you test for the pin, make sure you not using your face to unlock and also if your phone is already unlocked, it will not ask for pin 4. to test if it was for pin before switching off, lock your phone, do not look at the camera( to avoid face unlock) and try switching off...it will work. 5. and if its still not working, setup the password and do all the steps mentioned and then it will work.....now revert your password to pin in lock screen page....it should definitely work....
For me its working on PIN,Pattern, Password ...all.. Even i set only 4 digit pin..still working.. But before watching this i was using pattern..and all this settings was also on..but didnt worked ..after i changed to password once ..it started working ...later worked on every type..

Bro I am using S23 and I have set my lockscreen type to PIN and Fingerprint. When I try to power off my device on the lockscreen everytime it asks me to verfiy with PIN or Fingerprint.

I have some doubt on wear os and android version. I have galaxy watch 7 running new wear os 5. and I have phone running android version 13. Does do i get all features in watch . Do my watch get new wear os update in future though I have android 13 device.

K for those that its not working for check these settings thats under (Secure lock settings) #1 make sure your extended unlock settings are turn off, #2 make sure the Lock instantly with Side button is turn on.

I turned off lock network and security, set a password temporarily, turned the setting back on. Once I verified it works, I then changed back to my pin and now a pin or fingerprint is required to turn off my phone 👍
But your phone must be unlocked for you to go settings? If its locked you cannot open settings? If you power off your phone from a locked screen, you must put your PIN in first?
this matter was handmade matter factory settings arent come like this exept u turn it off by urself customly i was a samsung user since galaxy S2 and never encountered this problem bcz this security feature was forever there out of the box nice video but matter isnt common or supricing if u ask me

On some devices it's not working.. on mine despite setting 6 digits pin it's not working

This is a must have feature I had it on my previous Oppo phone, now on Samsung and I will never look back, Samsung is on another level all around.

On the pattern mode, it also does not allow you to restart / shut down the phone.
What happens when you use the shortcuts to turn off the phone, namely the power and volume buttons?
It will work on the PIN if its 6 digits

Google had announced theft detection lock feature recently. That may come soon to all phones.. let's wait and see
