@@originalname1008 So he could procreate with mrs gorilla. On a serious note, probably as a way to show that Senku's idealized him even more, he styled his hair after his dad, it wasn't some natural hairstyle. He is trying to be like his dad, both in appearance and in his dream, what inspired him to be a scientist was his step dad. Also it means a lot more when you aren't evolutionary tied to care for the person, it makes their relationship more raw and true, less obligation, more true familial love.
This show and even its songs make me cry manly tears. Every episode is a stark reminder of why i have loved science so much as a kid--spending every day dismantling electronic devices and dead insects. An undying gluttony for understanding the world around me. My first literary reads were jules verne novels and a biography of mae jemison. I was dying to become a doctor or an astronaut or both. It amazed me that there were times that the technology we had in the 1990's didn't exist before. My astonishment furthered how centuries of science evolved from sheer curiosity of a few individuals just as hungry for knowledge as i am. The hard work it takes make a simple machine, and then using that machine to make an even more advanced machine with less effort than it took to make the original; then using that machine to make an even more complicated machine with even less effort than that. Walking turned into driving cars. Jumping turned into flying at mach iii. Looking at the moon turned to standing on it. A hard life of 20 years turned into a prosperous one of 80 years. The beauty of this show is that it is a diorama of seeing 100k years of technological evolution in the span of just 10 hours of screen time or 1 year in the show's time. And the episode where chrome came up with a hydro-electric generator all on his own hit me the hardest because that is how science is. It's 20% invention and 80% synthesis--combining 2 or more concepts to build something greater than the sum of its parts. He didn't have senku tell him what it was or how to make it. He just simply put 2 and 2 together. That is true beauty. And the outros? They hit an emotional point that remind me that life is short, and only so much can be done in that life time, and it is human nature for past generations to make tremendous sacrifices laying the foundations of science for future generations to improve on and surpass it exponentially. I wont live to see what marvels would exist in the future of humanity; all i can do is dream and imagine. As it stands, i am just grateful to be alive to day to experience what we have now and being able to reflect on how far we've come. I have often felt, in the last few years that my dreams of being a scientist were DOA because of my ineptitude with electricity and magnetism, despite my proficiency in medical biology and chemistry. Was marathoning this show while frustrating for hours on end trying to figure out how to solve for AC and DC circuits as i studied for my science CSET (which is a bachelors degree equivalent of getting a GED). Just last night I got my results back (expecting to fail it) with an astonishing passing grade....but what surprised me more is that my subject evaluation showed a perfect 4/4 in physical science. I cried manly tears to that as well....it's almost as if watching senku and chrome put all that work into scientific ingenuity was the final push i needed to close that gap and pass the test. Fight on, senku ishigami.....and i will fight along with you. Let us both reach the maxim of our scientific ability. Edit: forgot to go into both songs. The first one felt like the inexorable tide of scientific evolution and its calm flow gives a vibe of how humanity is so caught in that flow that we don't think meta-cognitively about how we displace in that tide, taking the evolution around us foe granted as our lives come and go, much like everything else in nature and the universe itself. The 2nd is more upbeat but sadder because it makes us reflect on what we lose after it is gone; it makes us appreciate what we have more because it will be gone soon or later. You can try to rebuild, maybe even better than before, but it wont be the same. All you can do is reminisce and reflect on what it took to get as far as you can.
This is so Inspirational, those 2 songs make my rethink of many things and just admire what we have and look forward for future, i read your full comment and i cried a bit while reading. I hope that you are well now and having a good day/night, your comment was the reason to make someone smile today ^_^
Literally anything about Senku and his dad's relationship makes me cry.
