@91CTD nothing! i started it one time and it was ticking a bit so i thought it was an injector then it spiraled into this within 20 KM's as i was taking it back home. if it werent for the fact that the valves woulda had sex with the pistons, id say the cam was broke. theres fuel leaking from #5 and #6 exhaust runners, like theres just a little bit of darker areas on the runner where the manifold meets implying fuel is in the runners.
you should make sure all your push rods are straight. Our 2000 24valve started making a loud ticking sound after a very cold start. Turns out that it was a push rod bent a lot. It was also hard to tell that it was bent until the pushrod was completely out.
@floppycock9 turbos do nothing at idle. its not a 2 stroke detroit that relys on a supercharger to run. some cummins came as just a 6B with no turbo on it.
@76plymouth really? that might make sense. to pull the head i gotta take them out anyways, ill be sure to do that. but i cant see a bent pushrod causing a compression leak.
@johndeereman567 me and a few mechanics are betting on a blown headgasket. so thats what im gonna do is pull the head off of it on christmas and then check it for cracks, and if i dont find any cracks ill clean it up and put it back together and cross my fingers...
@6030diesel ok.....and were the valve adjustments right on every cylinder? i know that bad valve adjustments/flat cams hurt diesels more than they do gasers. if an exhaust lobe on the cam it worn to the point that the cylinder isnt emptying completely, that pressure will go into the intake when the intake valve opens, watch her run with the valve covers off to make sure all the valves open all the way
@91CTD i think it might be a headgasket blown between #5 and #6 causing the presure from one cylinder to be blown into the other cylinder. make sense? or am i way off base?
@tgredneck i didnt even deserve for this to happen since it happened when i started it, it woulda been different if i was redlining it ripping donuts or something lol.
Tough luck man. Good thing you have a good reliable backup!
@Texassince1836 no presure in the rad. no water in the oil and no oil in the water so its gotta be between the 2 cylinders.
@Texassince1836 the cylinder has no compression is the issue. its blowing fuel out the exhaust.

@Texassince1836 sounds like a blown head gasket, or stuck valve then
@edzgarage yea the head has to come off im sure and be redone or replaced.

Oh man, good luck fixing it.
@PissOnJapScrap i have no excessive blowby though. thats what leads me to believe its a head issue.
sounds like a normal cummins to me...just kiddin, i think its a blown head gasket, are you gettin any extra pressure in the radiator??

yer id think valve. dam that not good :(
As if you were able to hurt a cummins!
@tgredneck i didnt even deserve for this to happen since it happened when i started it, it woulda been different if i was redlining it ripping donuts or something lol.
what'd you do to it??? lol
that sucks. i have like 400k on mine no issues
@redneckchevy350 yep, watch my newest video, thats exactly what happened.
looks like a cummins cant take the abuse a 6.2 can take :D
yea buddy
@IDIDieselJohn i didnt even do anything stupid!
the cummins and the 6.2 couldnt that what 7.3 cloud that
no wonder it runs like shit the turbos not hooked up
