When it comes to China, The US probably have a reason to be worried when it comes to loosing the leadership as the chinese seems so far to be be vastly superior to US companies in terms of software. Hardware restrictions might help against chinese LLM's, but that will just give the US a 6 month advantage. The chinese advantage in software seems like it might be more than 6 months. The EU doesn’t produce enough energy to meet AI demands. If and when they did, it would be years/decades too late for companies that need it now.
