DEMOS IN THE DARK: FLOWER PEDALS - HOSTA WAH FILTER // PEDAL DEMO

- Flower Pedals is always kicking out interesting analog pedals that are controlled digitally. The Hosta is a Wah Filter with three modes: envelope, auto, and fixed. The filter itself is modeled after a very well known wah pedal on the market. It sounds great as a guitar filter, a bass envelope filter, and even on keys.
Envelope Mode will give you that Mutron III auto wah, envelope filter sound that you're aching for. Get your Jerry Garcia on. I found the sensitivity and detection controls to be spot on and the envelope sound itself is to die for.
Auto Mode allows for you to choose from 4 different LFO shapes with tap tempo and divisions. This can create some dreamy textures.
Fixed Mode allows you to control the envelope by setting two different stops and ramping between the two of them. You can also use an expression pedal for this purpose. Throw your bulky wah away!
On top of this, there are Frequency and Q controls that allow you to sculpt your perfect wah filter.

This was a rare instance where I performed a cover on the introduction. The song is titled "Everything I Wanted" and was written by Billie Eilish & Finneas O'Connell. If these two are the future of Pop music, we are in good hands.

Duuuuuuuude that was an awesome rendition of "everything i wanted". Your bass sits really well in the track!
thanks! love that song!
“Bet you thought I was going to play Grateful Dead.” Proceeds to demo the pedal with Grateful Dead riffs. 🤣
it was inevitable!
Wow what a gorgeous sounding pedal!
another great demo on a great channel. thanks and keep up the good work.
thanks for the kind words!!! 🙏
This is some good Netflix and chill music
a rare cover. it’s a billie eillish song!
Hosta: for all your Dead and early 311 licks.
so true!
I've been using the Stone Deaf PDF series instead of a wah since their release .I think that the Hosta is going to be the replacement for my oldest standing pedal , the clincher being that there are better expression pedals than SD's proprietary/obligatory design. Not sure I'd even use the added features, but who knows -
stone deaf looks cool. i’ve never tried any!
@@DemosInTheDark They def were designed for, and to appeal to, a traditional R&R market .The PDF became popular due to its connection to Josh Homme, though I never saw what made it particularly appealing in that context. The proprietary expression pedal is a heavy steel behemoth that is a 80's throwback in design.
Great pedal, almost bought it until I seen the price, which is out of my range. Highly doubt I'll ever see one of these on the used market. Sad, would love to have it.
ya never know! it’s worth the money!
How much?
@@GL-uy3fd the hosta is $279
Its absolutely worth the money 👌👌👌
Cool tones Ryan. Sounded kinda Leslie/vibey with the “cross” wave setting (think thats what you called it).
the little guy houses an alarming amount of sounds!
