I'm a complete noob to B&S and chose a summoner yesterday as my first character. I don't think it matters with me because no matter whom I chose, I'm still lost in the sauce lol. At any rate, thanks for the info. I may reroll once I figure out the important stuff.
All are good recommendations because of the buffs. Although, Warlock is probably twice as crucial because there is 1 SB class and 2 BB classes. People are always happy to carry a weaker WL in exchange for WL's buff. Summoner is also a decent class, since it has lots of heals, party protects, cat rezzes, cat full party rez, and cat taunt. I was recently the only summoner in a BT raid, and the party I was in had much better survivability than the other party. Survival is a really underrated component of dps. Gunslingers are also fine, since they have high dps, and some parties just need dps. Tank classes are also dope (specifically in 12-man raids, but basically in anything). There are lots of raids that have every role filled except tank, and tank is all they're looking for.
Great video, and very helpful too; thank you! The only thing I would criticize is that the emphasis seems to be on what would be the best class to play for a new player who wants to do dungeons and raids and be the best benefit to their group. What about the solo player who isn't into the dungeon or raid scene? I know that holds players back because raids and dungeons are how you get the best items, but solo PvE shouldn't be ignored when it comes to considering good starting classes.
I main soul fighter and love the fact that they can do melee or ranged at will.It really helps increase survivability to be able to go ranged and stay out of the boss aoe's and still attack.
That's a point I entirely forgot to mention with the soul fighter! Yes it is primarily a melee dps class, but there are several phases on bosses where melee dps isn't possible, so it is nice to be able to switch stances and still contribute to a fight!
Hey EDUS, just want to say thanks for all the hardwork you put in your videos. I'm a returning player after a very long hiatus so I'm basically just like a new player. I did have a destroyer but I do feel like catching up the content as a destroyer will cost a lot of time and money. What class would you recommend that's more economical time and money wise to catch up with the new content? Tyvm!

what do you think about destroyers?. because i'm starting to feel dissapointed about mine. but i have invested a lot time in it. so i don't want to go to another one and start over. i like it as a class but it seems is just trash in dps, maybe because i don't have all the full end game equipment and aelemental acc
Destoyer ends up getting really solid DPS late game, plus the grab skill is super useful, and necessary for VT for several mini bosses. It's a strong class if you have a lot of time in it and don't want to switch, then don't. It gets better after skybreak spire soulshield and accessories!
Need an opinion... I levelled my first class to max level a couple of weeks ago and I’m wondering if a different class would have been better than soul fighter. Thinking of levelling a second toon, but can’t decide out of gunslinger, blade dancer, summoner or force master. Thoughts?
Quick summary of each: Gunslinger: Hard to get into parties, big dps, little utility. Great to solo farm stuff when geared. Blade Dancer: Restrain skill is useful, otherwise average in just about every category Summoner: Can do every role in any comp. Jack of all trades, easy to find parties, doesn't excel in any one category. Force master: Similar to gunslinger (heavy dps) but with a bit more party utility. hopefully that helps :D

The honest answer is I don't play blade dancer (like at all) and I don't know the rotation. If you are considering blade dancer I would ask in my discord ( discord.gg/3bUy9fr ) as there are literally 100s of blade dancer mains and they could give you a better idea on the class.
I really love this game, I want to get into it but I never have people to play with. The biggest issue is having consistent people to play with for more than just a few days. It sucks.
i second that, but playing warlock in late game is honestly the best. and providing that raid parties look for warlocks you'll have an easier time finding a party the only thing i hate about it is that frost is a bit slow to play LOL.
Slow? What's your ping? D: EDIT: Scratch that, it took me 22.6 seconds to realise what you meant there! XD It's slow because right off the bat they are DAMN weak in a way but late game you end up being a walking nuclear bomb.
From what I've heard, yes. I've only every used NVIDIA graphics. However I know Intel > AMD for this game as far as processors, as I've played on both. This game is more of a processor limit than graphics.
Gunslinger is the easiest but if you like pets and healing and you like playing a support class i would def recommend Summoner. Summoner how ever is only for the Lyn but the gunslinger is Yun, Jin and they added the Lyn as well.
IDK I feel like the game is dying, I just came back after 2 years of no playing (2016) to see they don't even give the Hongmoon weapon anymore at the start? Like WHAT? It seems they just dont want new players to come in lmao, or even worst they want to give new players a hard time so they end leaving the game faster
For pure dps SF. Warlock dps isn't as high and is fairly RNG heavy. Warlock is mainly for the buff soulburn. Both have solid dps when geared, but SF seems to do the same/more dps without SB than warlock does WITH SB, so...
SF does more dps than WL atm. Overall is debatable simply because warlock has soulburn, which is a buff every party will want. This allows some warlocks to be let into parties undergeared simply for soulburn. Soul fighter brings a group heal and group res and good CC and mobility. They are also generally harder to find since SF is one of the least played classes in the game. So it's either a slow, relatively low dps class with great offensive support, or a high dps class with great mobility and heals/resurrects. Both are generally very wanted.
Wl is a nice class to have but aids t0 lvl i got the 1000 death ach before 50 lol, gunner is the best class for new players big damage easy level and ping friendly with fire
Archer was the best decision for me. I tried bladedancer. I got to 44 and gave up. Lol but on an archer i was better a far distance shooter. Lvl 56 :) second account!
That's the best class if you want to tank, although the new great sword class coming out in a few months will be better at tanking, and I would recommend farming materials up with a gunslinger or warlock so you can transfer them over.
the real problem is when you are waiting for the alpha call to pop 2nd SB and that alpha is either 1. never comming or 2. it takes forever for lazy gunner to press that one button and when he finally does - you already gave up on him and used your leech and now you have a choice to ruin your rotation and buff SB mid leech, or say screw you all and continue your rotation ignoring the late alpha. I am usually going with the last option if alpha is not used before or in 1 sec after the first SB. If gunners are so lazy that they can not press a button in time - why i should suffer?..
BM is an easy class to play as a tank too. KFM gets easier once you get VT badge ( For wind users ) Gunner is forever easy to play. SF depends, ice is straight forward easy. Earth is easy too but might cause focus issues ( can be restored with having legendary soul lul ). WL is kind of easy to play too. Destroyer is uh.... Sin gets easier once you know how to maintain focus. Scummoner is easy to play too. BD is uh too... FM is easy to play but boring as fuck. Sure you be dealing loads of damage but I don't find it fun.

Dazzuh they nerfed all the low level content like dungeons and gold rewards as well as the daily challenge rewards. Which where essential to gear up your character. Now I assume a lot of new players are kinda in limbo on gearing.
I don't like gunner , because the weapon doesn't go the side. I play Gon female why would they dev. weapons to hide that sexy ass. So I would recommend soul fighter or warlock for new players

So for now I'd say take one of the ones I recommended and use it to farm up materials and gold so when the better tank comes out you can rush it by transferring gold and materials between your characters.

Guess you picked good classes to play then :D These aren't "Beginner" Classes. They're classes that I feel are perfect for getting into parties and easy to gear up, aka great for new players!
Ice has dps problems with high ping, even more than earth. The punches will be way too slow.. I have stage 3 earth accs, and it does more dps than my awakened ice accs, just because of my ping (200~220)
don't go fire BM.... my in game display is around 300 ms (no ping says 250 ish). and i can only do 4 dt per tab. totally screwed up dps. fire fm or shadow dest is still doing fine with 300 ms though. not that badly gimped compared to BM

Ranged dps isnt very viable, but its useful to put the ranged part in your rotation

Some classes perform better at lower ping than others. So if you have a high ping (200-300) you gonna lose some dps.

Upgrade to your raven weapon. Then you're basically caught up with that AP and can run whatever you want lol.

I went from a 980 to a 1080ti and literally saw no difference. I get the same FPS as my wife who is using a 980 still.

I would generally suggest warlock, since the buff they have will pretty much always guarantee you a chance for late-game PvE groups.
